My husband and I left Rent A Center in November of 2013 to go to EasyHome Furniture. At that time EasyHome had a lot more selection of furniture and lower payments spread out longer. It made it more affordable for us at that time. Well, we got a livingroom set, bunk-beds, a computer and 2 T.V.'s from them. Everything we got from them was brand new. The living room couch (arm of couch) had broken. They told me that I did not have a warranty on my furniture. I then went around with them on this, and finally they said that I had a warranty on all my furniture because it was all new, not used. It took them 6 months to come out to look at it, and another 3- 3 1/2 months to come and get it so it can get fixed. They changed it out with a loaner couch and then it took another 3-4 months to fix and return it back to me. I found out that they never sent my couch out to get repaired. They fixed it themselves. Needless to say that they did not fix it right. Then I call them back to complain about this and it took another 2 months for them to refix it. When they brought my couch back to me, they broke my screen door. Again, I had to go around and around with them to fix it.. Then I was 5 days overdo on my bill, and they told me that they would not fix something they broke until I paid my account in full.I paid the bill in full in 2 days. It still took 3 weeks for them to fix the door. Every time my husband or I had to deal with them on any matter, they were so RUDE, it would make me want to loose my temper with them. I also got a tablet free from them with a promotion deal they were having. The tablet broke and when I brought it in, they (the manager) told me that they could not fix it. She stated that I had gotten it for free and that I am not paying on it, so they cannot fix it , it is not covered. My husband and I had gotten so upset with this company that we left EasyHome and went back to Rent A Center. we gave everything back but the 2 T.V.'s. One of the T.V.'s was a Christmas present to my son who lives up by Dallas. He was reciently robbed , and all his electronics were stollen from his apartment (including the T.V.). I looked at my contract with EasyHome and it DOES NOT state anything about where the merchandise has to be (at what address). All it states is that any merchandise stolen, I need to show a copy of the police report with merchandise and serial number on it and it will be covered by company. I did this and now they are saying that I owe them for the tablet and the stolen T.V. . They said that the T.V. was not stolen at the primary address and they are not responsible for the T.V., that I am. I then went into the store and showed the manager the contract. I told him that it does not state anything on where the merchandise has to be kept. He then told me that he talked to the owner and the owner is not taking responsibility for the T.V.. So I said to him, you cannot verbally change a legal signed contract whenever you want to. He said that is what the owner is doing and they are holding me responsible for these items,and we gave back the other T.V. to them. I am in the process of talking to lawyers on this matter. I have also informed them that I am not paying for these items and that I am in contact with lawyer right now. PLEASE...If you want to go to a rent-to-own furniture store, DO NOT go to EasyHome Furniture. This store is in Killeen,Tx.. It is not worth the time, stress or money.. Trust me.
Description of Work: The provider lied to us about product. The provider went back on contract and tried to change contract verbally, even though I have the original contract. It took the provider 1 year to fix broken product which was covered under warranty.
