BUYER BEWARE!!!! I called them after finding them on Angie's List to schedule my move. I spoke to a very nice female (Angie I believe) she said they were booked on Saturday 7/30/16 but took my name and number in case they had a cancellation. She was in the process of calling around and confirming appointments. She called me back a hour later and said they could move me on the day I wanted. She asked me how I found them and I told her on Angie's List. She asked me the square footage of the house, how many bedrooms and was it heavily furnished. I told her less than 1700, 3 bedrooms but one room was used for office/craft room and yes it was heavily furnished. She asked me if I had a spa or piano that needed to be moved. I told her no. She asked me if I had any mirrors that went with bedroom suits, any antiques or art. I told her I had several large mirrors, but they did not go to bedroom suits. That I had an antique buffet, headboard and wooden lion that came from a carousal and a couple of art paintings that hung on wall. But that the heaviest items I had were a refrigerator, freezer and washer/dryer. She asked me the address of where it would be moved. I told her everything was going to a storage building a couple blocks away. She said since I am an Angie's List member it would be $80 per hour instead of $110, plus a $40 trip fee and a minimum of 2 hours, but that I would have them til the job was finished. I told her good because it will take way longer than 2 hours. She told me I was scheduled for them to arrive between 8-9am and also said they would call when they were on their way. I told her if everything goes well I would call back to schedule my Daughters move at the end of August. On Saturday 7/30/16 they called around 8:30am and said they were on their way. I thought, Wow so far so good. The 2 guys arrived around 8:45am and asked me to show them what all would be moved. I walked them around to every room and discussed what I wanted to move first. Then I noticed one of the guys walking around taking pictures of things and thought that was strange. Then 5 minutes later the other guy came to me and said that this would be an 8 hour move and that they had another job at 12:00pm, so we would have to reschedule to another day the next week (They do not do moves on Sunday). I told him I could not move to another day because I had to be out before 8/1/16. I also told him that Angie had told me they would be here til they finished. He then said the owner would not allow them to move a lot of my items, because if they broke them he could only pay .60 cents per pound. I asked him what items because all of these items have been moved before by movers no problem. I have never even had one person question moving them nor charge me extra to move them. Items: 4 large mirrors, 3 medium mirrors, 60 in flat screen TV, antique lion and art work. I told him that I had told Angie about these items and that she never said anything about them not being able to move them nor did she say that there would be an extra charge for them. I asked him why they can move heavy objects like refrigerators, washers and dryers that are expensive items, but not mirrors and a wooden lion. Also heavy spas and pianos, although at extra cost, but not mirrors and a wooden lion. Seriously!! He said well if they were in a big box they could move them, because it would protect them from breaking. What???!!! A mirror can still break in a box and it makes it more awkward to carry, hence more chance of dropping and breaking. I told him this was ridiculous and I have never had anyone refuse to move these items before. And if this was their policy, then they should be going to look at what they are moving before booking moves. He told me I was welcome to call the office. He gave me the number and when I called a man answered without identifying the business. I asked if this was Extreme Movers and he rudely said "Yes. What do you want?". I told him I was told to call the office. Once again he rudely said "Well I don't know why they would tell you that.". At that point I was upset and starting to cry so I handed the phone to my ex Husband, whom had stopped by to trim bushes (nice I know). He told him the same thing these guys had told me, that they would not move these items. He said they would move what they could in the minimum 3 hour time frame (remember I was told a 2 hour minimum), but would not be able to stay til we were finished. When I told the guys to go ahead and do the 3 hrs they were ******. I got the feeling they did not want to do the move. That they had just said all that stuff to get out of doing it and hoped I would reschedule for another day. Mind you the not being able to move some items did not come up til after I said I could not move to another day. Now I even question if I actually called the office and if that was really the owner. The 2 guys loaded the truck once, then unloaded and brought me the bill. Instead of being $280 total (80x3=240+40 trip fee=$280) they charged me $280 for 3 hrs +$40 trip fee= $320. When I questioned him about it and told him what Angie had quoted me, he said well you can call the office again. I told him no, that I have had enough and to just go and handed him the money without a tip. It was now 12:00pm and my house was still full of stuff. So instead of spending the rest of the day moving, I spent it trying to find a Uhaul. I finally found one for the next day 15 miles away that was only 17ft long. I then had to call my Son who lives in Chicago to ask him to drive down all night to Keller (14hrs with no stops) to help me move. Needless to say by the time he got there and we pickup the truck (with only a 17 ft truck and the 2 of us who are not professional movers) we ran over by two days moving and another day to clean. Which cost me more money. The cost for gas, truck, extra rent and the $320 I paid Extreme Movers, cost me more than a 8 or 10 Hr move with movers @ $120 would have cost me. Not to mention the money my son had to spend to come down and help me. Needless to say I did not call them for my Daughters move in Dallas. I will NOT ever use them again and would NOT recommend anyone use them! Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with such an unprofessional company. FYI Extreme Movers when people are moving from a home they are on a deadline and can not move to another day. Maybe your policy should be to go out and look at what you have to move before scheduling a move. Especially if you are planning to do more than one move a day per truck. After this happened I looked your company up on BBB. Seems you do this often (scheduling more than one move) and leave people waiting all day, because you don't know how long the move will take. I also saw where you have complaints about damage to items, so I am thankful you did not move all my items. But it still does not help with the stress and cost I incurred.
