The work performed was excellent. Pricing was average to high, in my opinion. He was very fastened had everything replaced within two hours. However, it is difficult to get these folks to return phone calls. Therefore, along with the upper end pricing, my rating is a C.

We have used this service for years for pool cleaning and repair, and were very satisfied.  The pool cleaning person has been great.  Now, we have a suction problem that needs to be handled by their service team.  I have called David many times and his pool cleaner that comes weekly has contacted him also, But, we have had no response from David over the last 6 weeks.  It is very disappointing as I used to recommend them to my friends.  I guess I will find a new service.

Seeing that this company has mostly excellent review here, and that our pool has a leak in one of the skimmers (not sure if it's in the body or the plumbing), I called and left a message with this company 3 days ago.  On the voicemail, it said, if you need more immediate assistance, feel free to email.  The voicemail provided the email address.  As soon as I finished leaving a voice message, I emailed the company, which the voicemail had indicated "followed her everywhere."  Three days later, I have not received an email, nor have I received a call back.  Please note that I have also checked my spam folder to make sure her email didn't get pushed to there.

All of my communications were promptly answered.
The job was done in a very professional manner.
They bring everything to the job including many specialized tools for pool work.
They are very experienced in all facets of the pool piping and equipment.
The workers were always attentive to not  make a mess.
Nothing was done without explaining to me what the outcome would look like or to give me options.
The first contract was to install a new pump and piping.
It was so neatly done that I requested another contract to do all of the other work performed.
They made many suggeations but none that required a change in the agreed price.
This was a big job requiring a lot of digging.
They put down ground covers in their access route and did not track mud on the surfaces around the pool.
We were very happy with the job, and it looks very nice.
I can recommend this company with no reservations.
I will use them again for any work done on the pool.

David was great! My phone calls weren't returned immediately, but it wasn't horrible. With a little patience, we arranged a day to meet. Not only was David on time, he was early. They were very nice, showed me where the leak was and how to keep it from happening again. I am very pleased with the work and appreciate his knowledge and promptness. They cleaned up their mess and my pool was back in business!

We suspected a leak in our pool after performing the bucket
test. We were also loosing water at an alarming rate (Almost one inch per day).
I e-mailed David with all the details over the weekend, and he gave me a call
in two days (Tuesday) saying he could make it the following day at 9am. He
arrived with his crew at 9 sharp.

Right away, I could tell why David is the best in this
industry. He is very thorough, and knowledgeable. He also enjoys sharing his
knowledge & experience with people.

He started setting up for the leak test by plugging all the
suction and return lines, but just by looking at the skimmers he was able to identify
the problem. Yep, he is that good. He later confirmed the leak around the
skimmer opening using a special dye, and sealed it with some pool putty, at no
extra charge.

He then proceeded to pressure test all the lines at 25psi, there was a minor leak after
the filter line. Due to his meticulous nature, he did not want to leave it like
that, even though I offered to repair it myself later. So he cut the PVC pipe
between the filter and the salt cell to isolate the leak and later he redid the
plumbing again at no extra charge. Pressure test was good this time.

He also left me with two parting gifts: a  skimmer basket (mine was broken) and a
new tube of pool putty to reseal the skimmer area in the future in case I needed
to.

David was also very helpful in taking the time to give
advice on my other pool lighting and decking issues. I will definitely be
calling him and his crew back to redo the pool light electrical wiring and
install a light switch.

Exceeds expectation all around. I am very happy I contacted
him.

We've never required this service before, so I was calling to get quotes for leak detection.  Dave answered the phone, gave me a flat rate for detection (cheaper than any other), and gave me counsel on what to look for if I didn't choose him.  I called and left a message the next day that we wanted him to provide the service.  He called me @ 10 am on Saturday and said he was on the way.  Arrived @ 11.  After locating the leak (and mislocating, once) Dave gave me a price ($650) to fix the leak and we agreed.  Once he and his partner begin excavating the leak site, it was clear that Dave had underestimated the effort (had to chip away a lot of concrete to make room for the repair).  I checked on him frequently to see the progress.  Every time I checked, he explained what he had discovered and how he was proceeding.  Ultimately, the fix required not only repairing the leaking elbow, but replacing more of the plumbing that he removed to give him adequate clearance to make a quality repair.  He also replaced the concrete he had chipped away to maintain the structure.  The site was cleaned up and returned to a condition that would make it hard to determine that he had been there.  During the process, my wife and I had discussed that this was much more effort than we thought Dave had estimated at the outset and were expecting him to tell us that the cost had gone up.  At the end of the job, when everything was complete, Dave said that the job was much bigger than he originally expected.  However, he said, "I told you $650, and I don't expect you to pay a penny more, because that is the way I do business."  We paid more because we thought it was right and Dave was appreciative, but I know he was not going to ask for more.  In our opinion, this is the way people should treat each other and this was a refreshing experience.  If you have trouble getting in contact with Dave, once he is on your site, you will know why.  He is focused and professional about doing a quality job.  I know that someone did not get a service call on this Saturday because our job took longer than expected.  I hope you have patience to wait for Dave.  You will be glad that you did.  We will be calling Dave with all of our pool needs in the future.  Outstanding experience!

Called from a recommendation, for a quote on a major pool renovation.  Arranged to meet at my home, took a half day off work.
Complete no-show.  Didn't answer my call, nor return my voicemails.  Total waste of time.  If you value yours, call somebody else.

Everything turned out great. Other people I had provide estimates told me they would probably need to break up my deck, etc  but David worked around it and did straight line through my grass.  David is a perfectionist that does everything more than right. Waynette, his wife works the office and was also very helpful and friendly. David upgraded my backwash valve and plumbing.  He was very responsive in coming out for an estimate and in doing the job. I will be having him install a salt system and ozonator for me in the near future. I would not hesitate to recommend him and just did for a neighbor who has a leak in her irrigation system.   Not sure if he does those or not but told her to call him.

He did not mind taking the time to explain the cause of the problem and how to fix it if it occured again.
Shared his experience on doing some routine maintenance that would help avoid the problem in the future.

Texas Leak Detection and Mediterranean Pools REALLY knows their business. Once we negotiated scope of work to be completed (which included a lot of unknowns) the work began IMMEDIATELY. We had multiple leaks above and below ground and TLD found them all and repaired each one within quoted price. Installed new light fixture and corrected previous grounding faults as well as replaced valves and re did plumbing making the pool nicer than I EVER remember it looking since I owned it. The other "pool guys" we worked with OVER THIRTEEN YEARS should be ASHAMED at what they didn't know about pools and plumbing next to TLD! The only thing I could complain about was communication was sometimes lacking, but OH MY GOODNESS was it worth the trouble. No wonder this guy is so hard to reach! Be ready for miracles once completed!

We made an appointment and he didn't show or call.  I called him and he said he had a job run over.  That's understandable, but he should have called.  We rescheduled for the next morning and he didn't show. again.  He told me he was very busy and I was expecting too much!  Very unresponsive and unprofessional.  Not sure how he stays in business.

I called TLD to come out and find a leak in my pool. I was already warned by my pool cleaning guy this could get pretty expensive so I was nervous about the costs. David, with TLD, came out along with a 2nd technician and quickly found the leak. Not only did he find the leak but he repaired it at no additional cost; he was very honest in informing me the problem would not require any major work so it would be included with the price of the service call!
After seeing what an honest person he is, I trusted David with additional work (electrical) to be done on my pool; he took his time and did the job right. I will be referring TLD to all my pool-owning friends, finding TLD is like finding a quality mechanic that is both honest and reasonable, you become a customer for life! Thanks TLD!

I called to get an appt. Received a return call and scheduled an appt. for May 3 @ 3pm.  At 3:22 I called to see why the person did not arrive. I left a message at that time and again the next day. I did not receive a return call. Have not been in touch with this company since then.

From our first conversation, David impressed me as a very honest businessman.  His attention to detail coupled with his hard work ethic provided me with the best job I have ever received from any contractor in my 15 years as a homeowner.  David personally was on site overseeing all work being done.  He worked late into the day to make sure the work was completed on time and to my satisfaction.  I would highly recommend Texas Leak Detection.

Trey came out on Tuesday afternoon and checked out the equipment to determine the problem. The heater had been out for a year or more and the pump had just gone out over Memorial Day weekend when we were out of town. He returned on Wednesday at noon, exctly when he said he would, and repaired both the heater and the pump. The pump needed a new motor and the heater connections were corroded due to lack of use. Trey instructed us to turn on the heater occasionally to keep corrosion at bay and it will work fine. He told me David would be out on Friday to do the leak detection.
David arrived Friday before noon and started the process of searching for the leak. He hadn't even started the pressure test before he figured it out. We have a bad case of the spa tile grout at the coping pulling away, which we had seen but figured it would be repaired when we remodel our pool. Not only was water getting out there but below that in the tile grout itself there was a crack that also turned out to be leaking. When the pump is on it leaks....he did a dye test to show the dye sucking into the cracks. David was 99% sure that was it, but since I was paying for a leak detection test he gave our pool the full treatment. Pressure tested all the lines, checked the light, the skimmer area and all of the connections in the pool and at the equipment. I mostly sat out there the whole time and asked a million question and wrote everything down to tell our pool remodeler. David was patient and informative. I feel like a went to pool school....it was great. When he pressure tested the lines about a foot of plaster was blown out that had been in there since the pool was built. He pretty much cleaned out all debris that had accumulated in places we can't access. He also noticed our filter gauge was broken so he replaced that for free and labeled all of our connections at the equipment since we have a manual system and all the markers had worn away. I also received a detailed report via email on Friday night to give to our pool remodeler.
Over all....one of the best contracters I have ever had at my home......and there have been many over the years. I will be having him back to repair a problem with air to the spa and possibly add LED lighting. When ever we have an equipment problem, I will be calling David. I highly recommend him and his crew.
Oops, almost forgot....I had the Angie's List $50 off coupon, but didn't want to use it because I felt he went above and beyond what was expected....he deducted it from his $350 charge and gave us the gauge......

We thought we had a leak because we noticed our levels of water decreasing. We also thought our filter was leaking sand because we had "dust" all over the pool. David and his assistant came all the way from Katy, took a look at our pool and our returns, and told us we had algae... Said it didn't look like a leak, but gave us our option if we really wanted to go ahead and run a test. They did open up our filter at our request and checked it out. We didn't really want to believe it was algae at first because we had kept chlorine rather high :( We didn't run the test, but we followed their advice, shocking with dry chlorine, and after a week of sustained shock guess what, we finally got blue water again. It wasn't sand - it was algae. As far as the water levels, we realize now that a lot of it was evaporation (sun covers fixed some of it), but also a couple of leaking pipes.

I had used this company last year to help detect a pool leak which they found and solved.  The pool and spa is 30 years old and there was additional work which needed done.  At the pool leak visit we made an action list and I got a quote.  I developed a problem with the multi purpose valve which prompted a call to David.  David took my call on a Sunday, shocking and wonderful.  I forwarded him a copy of the original action plan which did not include the multi purpose valve.  I decided to have all work done at this time.  The heater had not worked for a number of years and needed replaced.  The spa blower did not work.  The pool pool light had not worked in years.  There was an issue with the main drain and spa drain which needed to be brought up to code.  David and his crew handled each and every issue.  And as is always the case with something this old,  nothing is as easy as it should be.  Gas lines had to be brought up to code.  Electrical work needed corrected from a previous job.  All of the plumbing had to be re-plumbed to go with the new filter and blower.  I have finally found a trustworthy, honest pool repair company.

David and his team did a great job. The final results look very neat and presentable. I was afraid it would be a necessary eye sore but they did an excellent job at fixing the drainage issue and making it pretty at the same time. The crew was friendly and their pricing was competitive and customer service was very professional. Would certainly recommend them for any pool repairs.

I called David and even though he was booked he came the next day for what he thought would be a "small" job. I was getting air in the system and was sure I had an underground  leak in the pipes that could only be found with a pressure test.  I have old equipment and he quickly realized I needed the plumbing updated before any pressure test was done.  I believe other companies would have done a pressure test and then say the plumbing needed updating, thus making more money.  He saved the cost of a pressure test because once the plumbing was fixed we were good.  He was very friendly and for the work he did this was a great price.  I would recommend to anyone with a pool.
