KATY CUSTOM POOLS

When we went to close on the pool the salesman didn't even show up for the closing. I was assured that there would be a project manager on site at all times and that never happened. I got a cease and desist order on them. I closed my fence and they jump on my car to get over the fence and into my yard. There was some tile left off of the steps. When they came back to put the tiles in, they cut out the plaster and patched it. For a new pool it was awful. It wasn't positioned where it was supposed to be. It was 2 1/2 feet off each way. Kathleen, the project manager, was a complete waste of time. I with held the last payment and she came and started banging on my door screaming and yelling. It got nasty.

The design of our pool and the surrounding deck and yard were beautiful and we would likely be giving all A's if the company had just followed through and completed the job. The owner, Eric Ford, presented himself as an honest, conscientious business owner and even told us that he got into the business after having such a difficult experience when his own pool was built. We were very confident and trusted him to get everything done right. Everything went quickly and smoothly in the beginning, with the excavation and construction going like clockwork. Eric was checking in frequently in the beginning and we were very happy. As we got near the end of the project, however, we started seeing him less and, as the list of defects and uncompleted tasks began getting longer, he stopped returning our calls. We could get through to his office occasionally, but usually only managed to get a promise from his assistant that she would pass on the message. Weeks of harrassing the assistant would occasionally get one unfinished task checked off the list, one at a time. It is now two years since the majority of the construction was completed and we still have a number of issues that haven't been addressed, one major (the autofill valve does not fill the pool up far enough and apparently needs to be dug up - through the deck - and rebuilt) and several minor (flaws in the pool surface, an umbrella sleeve that was cemented closed by the subcontractors, etc.). The time it took to even get the long list of other unfinished items taken care of once the pool was completed was unacceptable and went well beyond the nine months that Eric told us it took to have his pool built (and he told it like that was a shocking amount of time). To be clear, Eric never, ever told us that any of this work did not need to be done. He simply avoided our calls and, the few times we did manage to get him on the phone, promised to come out and do the work and then never showed up. At this point, we have little hope of ever getting Eric to come back and finish the job, though he was fully paid, and our only recourse appears to be to go to court. This was a deeply disappointing experience and I cannot recommend using this company.
