We are a small company with 2 crews and we offer high quality installation and repair services for the residental market. We offer free estimates on new systems only. The entire experience was great.  Mr. Rockwell responded immediately when I initially called.  I did try other companies listed on Angie's list, but they did not answer or call back.  Mr. Rockwell worked with me and scheduled me as soon as he could.  Within less than a week, Rodney and Kim came out to repair the puncture pipes.  Rodney answered all my questions and did not hesitate to provided candid feed back.  For instance he strongly recommended not to have the yard irrigated with a machine again.  He explained that it appear that the pipes were installed to shallow.  He pointed out a anther area where the sprinkler pipes were exposed.  Both Rodney and Kim worked very well together.  Later he explained that Kim is his wife (very sweet lady).  I was very impressed, she worked better than most men I know.  

I was worried with how much I was going to be charge for this repair.  It was multiple punctures on over lapped pipes.  The location of punctures was next to one of the largest trees on my properly (lots of roots).  I was pleasantly surprised that the cost was very reasonable for the job. 

Will I call Allied again?  I sure will.  In addition I would recommend them to anyone.  Rodney and Kim thank you very much.  Mr. Rockwell congratulations on your awesome family and team.

Rodney & Kim worked very fast for the amount of work that they did in two hours.

Jim Rockwell and crew installed a Rainbird sprinkler system at my home. They were professional, on time, and reasonably priced. In fact, my yard required an additional zone, but Jim held to the price he quoted for 5 zones - nice.  They laid the lines out in the yard in a way that did not tear the entire yard up, and they cleaned up afterwards. Everything went smooth and as promised.  I would definitely use them again.

First of all, I want to say that I rated a B on responsiveness only because I had to wait a couple of weeks before they could come out to give me an estimate, and anoyther couple of weeks to get the work completed. However, they were very busy which is understandable at this time of year.  They arrived early, worked very diligently throughout the day.  Finished up about 7pm that evening.  Jimmy took the time to show us how to operate the system with no regard of the time and answered any questions we had.  He said to call him in about a month and he would come back and check the system out entirely to make sure everything was working properly.  He did that just a couple of days after I called him about it. 
Excellent contractor.  Would definetely recommend him.

I called and left a message regarding an estimate for an underground irrigation system for front, back and both sides of my yard in early April.  Allied had an Angie's List coupon.  The owner, Jim, called me back the same day and scheduled an appt to come out 4 days later for the estimate.  He called me shortly before our scheduled appt to let me know he was on his way, he arrived on time and provided the estimate, less the Angie's List coupon, at the end of our appt.  He also provided information on the proposed system, references and explained he is a longtime small business owner.  I called Jim again in late April to request a revised estimate, which he provided over the phone, after I noticed how much my neighbor's irrigation system waters one side of my yard.  After that discussion, we scheduled the installation for his next available appt, May 21.  I called him the afternoon of May 20 because the utility line locator hadn't been out yet to mark the utility lines (which they did mark late in the day) and Jim assured me that wouldn't delay the installation.  He and his crew arrived on time as scheduled.  Jim needed to leave a couple times during the course of the installation and his crew did a great job on the installation whether he was present or not.  The entire crew and Jim were courteous and professional.  It was an extremely hot day but they all worked diligently throughout the day to complete my installation the same day.   A few additional sprinkler heads were installed at no extra charge.  Once installed, Jim programmed my system, ran a test to show me where each station watered and where the sprinkler heads were located, educated me on how to change settings on the controller, showed me the main cutoff and how to drain the system to avoid freeze damage and answered the many questions I had on my new system.  He asked for a copy of my survey in order to provide a diagram of the irrigation system which he would email within 2 weeks.  Because he is extremely busy as a small business owner who personally supervises his crew, it took longer than that to get the revised survey and it required a revisit by Jim.  Some sprinkler heads weren't diagrammed on the survey, because I couldn't be home to run the system when Jim was able to come back out.  It was a  really good experience and I'm very happy I chose Allied.

I called and set up an appointment over the phone.  The 2 person team arrived 10 minutes early.
We talked about my concerns and they dove in and looked at the entire system.  Three sprinkler heads needed to be replaced.  My control unit was acting intermittenty (at best) so I decided to replace the unit.
All work was completed within an hour.  The team working on my system was great.

"These comments are not true to the best of my knowledge, I try to return calls the same day that they come in, if I can not answer the phone as it comes in , I try to return the following day as soon as possible. I can only guess that it was when we had some technical difficulties with cellphone and messaging ( water and cell phones don't always mix, hope they got taken care of by one of my competitors. Good .. we had one issue but owner agreed to make it right. The issue went away when my auto mechanic fiddle with the computer system and he did it at no cost. We have used the mechanic for years and referred business to him!

I called them after I had paid for an Angie's List "big deal" with Fairbanks.   I had paid the first company $59 for an inspection and reprogramming.  I had also wanted them to repair a small leak in the back yard while they were there.  Short of it, they had found 3 small leaks in the back and one large one in the front.  The guy had repaired the smaller ones first after I had instructed him not to until we knew how much the large one in the front would cost to repair.  Well he repaired the 3 back ones to the cost of an additional $106.  But the quote for the large front one was an additional $464.

I contacted Allied Sprinkler and Repair and they had the problem fixed, straightened out a few heads in the front, reprogrammed the system and showed me how to reprogram in about 45 minutes.  I was very pleased and will contact them again with any problems.  My next door neighbor came home when they were finishing up and got their card.  I was very pleased!

We recently purchased a home in the Katy area and noticed the sprinkler system was not working properly.  I called Allied and the earliest appointment he had available was two weeks - his schedule is very busy this time of year.    Allied's team of Kim & Rodney arrived a little early which was great for me.  They did a wonderful job going through the whole system, finding problems, then taking care of them right away.   After they replaced the broken heads, they went through and adjusted all of the sprinkler heads to make sure the spray was correct for the area.  They were at our place about an hour.  We were impressed with their workmanship and how friendly they were.  We will use them again if the need arises.

The proposal was 10 zones for $5000.  The lot is only 75 X 120 with 3 flower beds, so 10 zones seemed like overkill.  Also, $5000 was substantially more than I was expecting.  When I mentioned it, changes were made to bring the estimate down to $4200, still more than I was expecting based on past sprinkler installs.  I ended up getting estimates for $3350, $3850, $3600, and $2750.   For $2750 I got 7 zones installed for nearly half of the original estimate, and  my lawn is still being properly watered with the cheaper bid.  
 I am sure allied does a fine job as many of the reviews here suggest, but I felt my estimate was higher than what I would consider reasonable, so I am writing this review when work was not performed.

"No two systems are same, from components, design, installation techniques and so on , it appears he wanted the lowest bid he could get and that is what he purchased, in my experience nothing costs more to own than a cheap system, more water waste, cheaper parts that fail much sooner than they should and poor quality of coverage , but I do design the best system I can as if it was my own house and that is why we are considered one of the better companies around , good luck with your system , If you need help down the road, feel free to call us again, Jim Rockwell"

After finding them on Angie's List, I gave them a try and was very happy with the service.  I called regarding a leak on my system and he ended up inspecting the entire unit on the side of the house and said the pipes were not up to code and the main part was not working properly, which explains the strange leak I kept feeling.  He checked all my sprinkler heads on his own without me asking and cleaned two for me.  Very nice and very honest.  He didn't charge me for all the parts, which he didn't have to do and he did it all within an hour!  I'm already recommending him to my neighbors....

A pair, one woman and one man, arrived to inspect the leak.  He was gruff and difficult.  He was not at all sensitive to the concern I had for damage to plants near the leak area, replying something like - you want it fixed don't ya?  He was eager to pack up, as if he was doing me a favor.  There was no professionalism at all.
I tried sending a message to the company through their website, but the e-mail was undeliverable.  I don't think I'm dealing with the owners of the company.  I would be happy to elaborate in a conversation with the owner.  I can't believe that this company has all A ratings.

"Sorry this customer did not have a good experience using our company, when my service tech arrived he found water coming out of the flower bed from a broken pipe ? , owner did not want us to dig in the flower bed, if we don't dig up area, we can not repair the problem. My service tech called me and explained the property owner would not allow us to dig up area where water is coming from, I told there is nothing more we can do for this customer then,( can't repair , if we can't dig up area) and go to next the service call, he had scheduled for the day. I never received a call from the property owner( the appointment was made over the phone and he was there when my service tech and I discussed what to do when the owner said we could not dig up area where leak was.) My service tech and I did not know how to handle the impossible request of making repairs with out digging up area. I hope this customer found some one to help him like he wanted. Jim Rockwell"

I can not say enough good things about Allied Sprinkler and Repair.  First of all, we got several bids.  Jimmie was the only person who explained exactly what he was putting in, where, why, how, and went into detail about the system and why it was the best.  He didn't try to sell us something we didn't need.  Other companies just said here's your bid.  He didn't ask about Angie's List coupons before he did the bid to where he could up his price.  He came out within a week after we excepted his bid.  The other companies were going to be 3 weeks to a month out.  He showed up exactly when he said he would the day of the job.  His crew did a great job on our lawn and put it back exactly the way they found it.  Jimmie even replaced the copper pipe to our water meter with PVC pipe and didn't even charge it for us!  NOBODY DOES THAT ANYMORE!!  Thank you Jimmie!  He was very nice, professional, and wants to make sure your job is perfected!!  I would highly recommend them for your home.  His warranty is longer than the other companies too.  I appreciate Jimmie taking his time to explain everything to us instead of trying to get in as many bids as he could in one day.  Would absolutely use him again and will use him later on for the lighting of our home.

Jimmie and his crew showed up at promptly 9:00 (as they had promised) and spent the day setting piping in place.  My backyard is split up a bit, so there were 8 zones to install.  They worked diligently all day and finished at 5:00.  The system works great and I know I'll be very happy I decided to do this once Houston's heat kicks in this summer.  I was very impressed that the owner, Jimmie, was here and worked every bit as hard as the rest of his crew.  I would definitely recommend Allied Sprinkler & Repair for any irrigation work.

It took all of about 20 mins to take care of the situation. Rodney, his wife , and son were friendly, professional, and went straight to their work and corrected the problem. They were very fair. I will recommend them and will use them again.
