While at Texas A&M Rod used computers to experiment with multi-use spaces in architecture environments and the costs of quickly modifying the contents of the spaces for different purposes. These computerized time and motion studies became the basis of Apartment Movers as these computer models made it possible to determine the cost of moving items from one location to another in a building, between buildings or across the country. "Exact Move Price over the Phone or Internet" became one of the companies main features and in a matter of a few years The Apt. Movers became the largest volume moving company in Texas. Since 1978 the company has moved over a million happy customers and is still growing.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. A lot of my items were destroyed and items stolen. Two tv?s a 75 inch and 35 inch destroyed. I was told I would receive professional service I received young adults to move my items who had no remorse to my broken and damaged items. The crew manager Mr. Soto was not concerned about my items just concerned with payment. I was asked to email the company in regard to my complaint and to send pictures. No response has been received even after a follow up email. Terrible company would not refer to anyone. Even left one of their moving blankets. My move cost me more than I paid. ?Highly Pissed

Hired and paid for moving services. The Apartment Movers was scheduled to move me between 7AM - 12PM. I finally called at 12:30PM to see what was going on they evidently had a truck issue however they didn't have the respect or decency to called me. I was then told I wasn't a priority because I paid a standard deposit and others paid more. We then rescheduled for a 3-6PM window. I called at 6:30PM for an update and got voicemail with both the dispatch office and the driver. One of the most unprofessional companies I've ever dealt with. DO NOT HIRE THE APARTMENT MOVERS!

The movers were awesome but the customer service (Manager, Lisa) was awful.  There was a problem on the day of my move and the rep contacted me to let me know it would be pushed to a later time.  That time came and went and no one showed up.  I called Apartment Movers and asked to speak with the manager.  I was told that I had to email her. Now think about it, all of my stuff is packed and ready to go and I am supposed to email the manager and wait for a response.  I used my phone to find my contract and sent it to her via email using my phone.  She never called back.  I called 15 times between 7:35 am and 8:00 pm and I only got a message stating someone would be answering my call.  The morning manager Ted was good but this was a day late.  He offered me $10 off per hour BUT THIS WAS PASSED TO THE NEW CREW THAT WAS SENT TO ME FOR THE MOVE.  I missed work, had to rent a car for another day and was tired because we had to sleep on the floor because the bed and mattress was packed up.  As of this email it has been another 24 hours and no one has bothered to call or contact me in anyway to see if everything went OK.  Save yourself a headache and CALL SOMEONE ELSE!!!!! Trust me!!!

This was the worst move ever!  After it turned into a disaster, I discovered that the movers are CONTRACTORS, not employees of the company.  These were just some guys who owned a truck.  I'll cut to the chase...  they DROPPED our nicest piece of furniture - an armoire - down the outdoor concrete stairs at the apartment.  The piece of furniture was badly damaged - door torn off, all wood trim ripped off, side badly scraped.  It is not usable at all.  They also damaged both a desk and a box spring.  When this was occurring, I called the moving company.  They didn't seem to care at all.  I was advised there was a claim process.  I filed a claim, with pictures, and received confirmation that they received my claim.  I was advised they had 90 days to resolve the claim.  In that 90 days, I received one voicemail saying the repairman was trying to reach me (of course, I had no messages from him).  I made several attempts to make contact - both by phone and by email, but received no response.  I was not able to file a compliant until the 90 day period passed.  At that point, I filed a complaint with BBB, as well as the DMV.  They responded to the BBB that they attempted to reach me on one occasion.  When I was not satisfied with their response, the BBB closed the case as unresolved.  Then suddenly one day I started getting "urgent" calls from them - both from an employee and the owner.  Suddenly, they wanted desperately to resolve my issue.  I'm guessing they received the DMV complaint, their regulatory agency.  They dispatched a check to me, to the wrong address.  I advised them I just wanted the furniture fixed.  The repairman called and scheduled a time to come out.  When he came, he fixed the desk and we were happy with his work.  However, he said he did not have the materials to fix the armoire, and that the company did not want to pay him to come back out a second time.  The company sent us a check for $381 for the remaining claim.  This was the most miserable move experience I've ever had.  I would stay far away from this company!

Overall, if you don't have a lot of expensive furniture and are looking for a cheap mover for in-town, this is the way to go.
