The payment is on a monthly basis.  They would check the unit before we change over to AC and then they would check it before we switch over to the heating part of it. I signed up for that plan and that plan is pricier than the other plans that I have dealt it, but we need this one checked more than the other ones so it kind of balances out.

They are very knowledgable.  Their workers are nice people.  They do a very good job.

The gentleman was nice and knowledgeable. He was determined to make sure he fixed it. He handled my frustrations well and got done what needed to get done. He was careful and made sure I understood what he was charging me for. He didn't try to gouge me, but was fair in what he charged me for. They were fairly responsive. I found them on Angie's List. I thought the price was very fair. I don't need to use them again because I replaced the entire system and have a warranty with someone else.

He was very knowledgeable...he answered a lot of my questions.  He was very good at explaining everything.  He was very good and responsive...he returned all of my calls and emails promptly.

He did ask me to contact to Tempo directly. 

When I did, the secretary was extremely rude telling me that the warranty was voided because I had the inspection.  I explained to her that this was ridiculous since I would never have known that I had the problem if I never  had gotten the inspection.  She finally said that she was going to charge me even though I had a warranty and it was less than one year since the house was built. 

When the technician arrived, he did go in the attic and fix the leak.  He assured me that the water collection pan was cleaned.  When I did go back into the attic, I found that the technician had not even mopped up the water in the pan and did not clean the rust as a result the water sitting in the pan for some time.  I am going to have to go to Home Depot this weekend to clean things up despite having a warranty on a house that is less than one year old.  Thank God for Angie's List.   I would never have found this problem if I did not take advantage of the inpection special.  Who knows how much worse I would have been treated and what cost I would have incurred if my warranty had run out.


Tempo did come out a  second time and fix the leak. However, I did incur damage to my ceiling and my wood floor.  The repair was made by Tempo including a new collection pan installment free of charge. My builder did also have to come in and repair my ceiling and damage to the wood floor free of charge. However, there was extra time and labor needed to fix the repair that could have prevented.

In my opinion, the people at Tempo Mechanical are crooks and attempted to steal both from me and from the manufacturer of the air-conditioners.

I contracted Tempo Mechanical with a one -year service contract on 7 rental houses.  I chose them because on 4 of the houses they had installed the AC units as they were contracted by the builder.  These houses were new houses when I bought them.

I continuously had problems with 3 of the 4 air conditioners that they installed in the first two years.  Pretty unusual.  One seemed to never get the temperature correct.  Tempo came out 4 or 5 times on that one house and kept telling me there was nothing wrong with it and the tenant was complaining for no reason.  The tenant moved and the next tenant complained about the same thing.  On the last time Tempo came out, it miraculously got fixed.  That was when they recommended a service contract and said these problems would have been caught if I had one.  I foolishly bit.

Virtually every time they did an inspection, something was wrong with one of my air-conditioners that needed to be fixed.  I kept paying to do it.  Most recently on two houses they told me that the coils were bad and needed to be replaced.  They said the coils were under warranty, but I would have to pay the labor which was about $2,000 each.

I got suspicious.  So I called another AC place.  Here's what I found out.  Neither coil needed to be replaced.  They just needed to be cleaned.  Cost - about $350 each.  One house, of which Tempo installed the unit, the water drain pan was installed incorrectly and was at angle causing problems.  My AC guy reinstalled it and didn't charge me, so I knew he wasn't lying.  

He also told me that Tempo's service people are paid on commission.  They have an incentive to find things wrong because that's how they make more money.

I am taking this one step farther and reporting them to Carrier, the manufacturer of the AC unit, which they were going to try to bill for two new coils.  

Stay away from Tempo Mechanical!!!

We received a recommendation to use Tempo Mechanical from Darling Homes, a Dallas/Houston home builder.   Tempo assessed our air conditioning system after it stopped working. The technician attempted a temporary fix just to get it working again but the fix was not possible.  He offered two options: fix the current system or replace it.  Since the air conditioning system was more than 15 years old and had serious defects, we made the decision to replace it.  

Tempo initially looked at several possible ways to install a new system, and after their assessment; they decided that a more thorough evaluation was needed.  Anthony Piñero did a thorough analysis of our present system: the configuration of the house and the heat load on the house.  After his analysis was complete, he gave us several options for the new system. This included a summary of his heat load analysis and photographs of our old system.  

We picked the system that best met our needs.  The installation crew removed the old system, the old duct work and installed the new duct work and air conditioning system.  The installation was challenging and required working in the crawl space under the house. The crew was professional in all their work and very thorough. They kept us informed of the progress throughout the job.   The new air conditioning system works well. The temperature is now evenly controlled throughout the house; it was not with the previous system. Previously, we noticed a stale air smell in the house, with the new system the smell is gone due to the new duct work. Even with 105degree outside temperature, the new system is easily capable of cooling our house.  

We highly recommend Tempo Mechanical. We trust their judgment and their professional approach to assessing and installing a major piece of equipment. Their staff is courteous, always helpful and completely trustworthy. They are well trained and know their work. We know that we received good value for our investment by using Tempo Mechanical.

The service has been good. I was extremely impressed with their installation scheme. Our air conditioning went out about two years ago in June and we had just hit a spike in the temperature. They worked 10-11 hour days in our attic in the heat to get it running again. They completely redid the duct work and other things. They keep a tight rein on their employees and I trust them.

We are very happy with them and we have had no problems. Their responsiveness is good.

They were very professional. They were on time and very thorough. Their quality was excellent.

I've used them since they installed our heating system. I like the technician that comes, it's always the same guy. I've never had any trouble with this provider. They are good, but a little on the expensive side.

Every employee that came out from Tempo was extremely professional and extremely efficient. They arrived on time every time, covered their shoes to not track dirt and and out, worked quickly (even in 100 degree heat) and did an extremely thorough job. One of their guarantees is that they house keeps a minimum of a 25 degree differential between the outside and inside (if it's 100 degrees outside, the house will be able to hold AT LEAST 75 degrees inside). My system was having problems keeping this differential. Tempo came out several times to diagnose the problem and try some fixes. Eventually they removed the A/C unit and replaced it with a 1-ton larger unit at no cost to me. That is service that goes above and beyond what most companies do. More recently my A/C stopped working. The technician came out, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, and returned the next to to install it. Both days he was on-time and professional and even drove down to get a part he needed so I wouldn't have to wait another day without the A/C. Their price was pretty much in the middle of the road compared to other companies I received bids from but their service and warranty support are far beyond average. I would (and have) highly recommend Tempo to anyone.

It went very well. Two guys came through and prepped the house and they were able to test in about 2 hours. The third man and explained everything and walked me through their process. They followed up a week later and walked me through the audit and provided plenty of recommendations.

Fine, I guess, but it seems they find something wrong and in need of repair (at additional cost) every time they come out for our plan check-ups. However, our units are 9 years old, and may need such maintenance... I will say that their customer service representatives are extremely courteous and helpful!!!

They do an excellent job. The installation was good. They left it clean. It has performed as well as they said it would. Their service and follow up has been excellent.

Everything works! I have used them before and have several friends who use them. I will continue to use them, I have a contract. They always send out the same person which I like.

THEY ARE GOOD AT TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEMS. THEY PROVIDE GOOD QUALITY SERVICE. THEY ARE VERY EXPERIENCED.

THE REP WAS ON TIME. HE THOROUGHLY INSPECTED BOTH UNITS ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. HE EVEN TOOK OFF HIS SHOES SO NOT TO TRACK DIRT ON MY NEW CARPET.
