As always, the technician who performed the service was very knowledgeable and carefully inspected our system.  We are ready for the hot summer months ahead!

I was pleased with them.  I had a new thermostat put in and I feel their prices were reasonable.  We will continue to use their services in the future.

They were very trustworthy, and I liked them. They were great. They were very honest. They didn’t try and sell me something but did the work that I wanted. I would rate them highly. I will definitely use them again on my furnaces.

The estimate was free and they charged me $1400 for the duct work.  They do very good work.  They are very helpful.  However they do tend to be a little bit expensive.  I would use them in the future if I had more money.

I've used this company several times.  This last time I called and I expected them to tell me they would be there in the morning because I discovered the problem after hours.  Not only did they not tell me that, they showed up in 30min and did not charge me a fee for an after hours service call.  They repaired it quickly and he had the part on his truck.  Awesome!

My husband, who works nights & sleeps during the day, always complains that the a/c isn't cooling as well as it should and the electric bill was rising and I should call someone. (I don't know why HE doesn't call, but that's not important to the story.) Our summer vacation plans were canceled but I decided to use some of the vacation days from the job to do work around the house. I called Spencer-Cox on Thursday afternoon and asked if they would send someone out to find out what was wrong with the a/c. The dispatcher told me she could have someone there in a few hours. It wasn't an emergency, so I scheduled for the morning. (between 8am & 9am) I think it was right at or after 9am when he arrived. Since I didn't know exactly what was wrong, Jamal said he'd start with charging it with refrigerant and go from there. After adding a few pounds of coolant, he said I might have a leak and gave me the cost for a leak check, but suggested we wait & see how much coolant it needed. As it turned out we had very little refrigerant in the system. I told Jamal that I probably should have him do a leak check, but he said we might not need it. He asked how long it had been since refrigerant was added. I couldn't remember if it was done when we had a repair 5 yrs ago. He said that since it lasted so long, we probably had a very small leak and we may be able to go for another 5 yrs again, so he didn't recommend the leak check. While it was charging, I could already feel the house getting colder. Jamal had replaced a circuit board on the unit a few months ago, and had told me at that time that the blower wheel was going bad and would need replacing. I asked him if that was part of the problem and needed to be fixed too. He said it was something to watch but didn't need to be replaced right now. How often do you hear that? Most repairmen press to have everything possible fixed at the same time. On a side note, my husband had rigged a box fan to blow directly into a return vent, thinking that moving more air would help it cool better. It was turned off but Jamal noticed it and asked about it. He said he should be able to find out while he was there if the fan made a difference. It didn't. We've always had a problem cooling the upstairs loft and I asked Jamal if he thought we needed to have a larger unit or even two units. He suggested a new type of room unit that has it's own compressor. We had been looking into that type of system already so I asked for a quote. Maybe I'll have another a/c report for Angie's List this year.

I was at work and my husband called me to tell me the a/c was out. He was leaving town for a funeral for a few days, so he couldn't stay and find someone to fix it. I came home from work early and started making calls. I went down Angie's List and called at least 6 companies. Spencer-Cox was the only one who could get a technician to me that day, and Jamal came out after 6pm without any extra charge. Several companies didn't even return my call. He determined that the circuit board wasn't working. To get the circuit board out he needed to turn off the breaker for the unit, but found that our breaker box wasn't labeled for it. So he spent at least 30 minutes trying each breaker, which meant climbing up and down the stairs at least 6 times to find the right switch. He didn't have one in stock and couldn't get it until after 10am the next day. He gave me a ballpark estimate which had me on the computer that night checking circuit board prices - just to be on the safe side. I found one online for our a/c and Jamal was very close on the price. His dispatcher called the next day with his ETA for after Noon. I called at 1:00 to see if he was on his way. She confirmed I was his next stop after he finished his current service call. I was very impatient (& hot) and called back several times. They were very patient with me. Unfortunately the previous service call took longer than expected so it was after 5:00 before he arrived. Jamal installed the new circuit board and had the house cooled down quickly. In any repair, I always want to see the old part if I paid for a replacement. He left the old circuit board for us before I could ask for it. Jamal also let me know that the blower fan would need replacing in the future, but there was absolutely no pressure to have it done right then. When it goes out I'll definitely call these guys again.

I don't have any complaints with them. They send a card when it's time to call for an inspection. They show up at the time they say they will. They work very well with my schedule.

I needed the unit installed immediately because of health problems and they came over the weekend to install it with no problems. They are absolutely the best you would ever want to have. The men are nice and always on time when they come to service the equipment two times a year. I am overly pleased with them.
