Description of Work: They cleared a pipe drain and explored with a camera.

Description of Work: Emergency service at 9pm on a holiday weekend. Pipe broke behind a wall. Fixed appropriately and have not had trouble. I am a little perturbed by various plumbers (including Roto Rooter) who make customers sign for the cost before work is done.

Description of Work: Replaced broken drain lines from the city tap to the house, hydro cleaned & deodorized all lines in the home. My initial problem was the smell of sewer gas coming from drains in the house, at times. The hydro cleaning revealed blockage and led to the discovery and location of the broken and sumping lines.

Description of Work: Replaced the thermostat on the hot water heater. The technician was punctual, professional, and fixed the problem right away. I called on the weekend and they had someone there within a few hours.

Description of Work: Water would not drain in the bathtub nor the toilets. The sewer drain needed to be cleared. Called another company I had used before and still 3 hrs later no one called. So I called Roto Rooter and they had someone out in 45 mins. Worked done very quickly. I didn't like the price but to come out at 10pm I was not surprised. I will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Roto Rooter will not give an up-front price, or even an estimate over the phone. This is unacceptable. I can't write a blank check to them, and quite frankly, if they can't even give me a ballpark estimate on a specific service I've requested (Hydrojetting my plumbing) I'm not interested in doing business with them. They expect me to have them come out and come up with an esitmate. I explained to the woman on the phone that if I did that, and didn't like their pricing, I would have wasted a day or so and would still have a clogged toilet. She thanked me and hung up. Sorry, but I'm the customer. If you can't actually let me know the general area I'll be spending when I'm requesting something, I'll move on to the next person and post your questionable business tactics on websites like this.

Description of Work: An unnamed company told me that the toilet had lost its 'suction' and should be replaced. A relative did this. My backup problem continued and I called Roto Rooter. Within 20" the culprit, a garment, was found in the drain. Problem solved. I asked about a running tank whick he checked..called his supervisor.. who came with a trainee. I ended up with three repairmen and two bathrooms in running condition. I was and still am extremely pleased.

Description of Work: Unplugged the kitchen drain. The first repairman did not attach the pipe under the sink well enough so I had leakage. A second repair man came and fixed the pipe at no charge. so far, so good.

Description of Work: The tub drain had been very slow for months, nothing I did would fix it. Last year another plumbing company said the drain couldn't be snaked because the tub was so old their equipment wouldn't go past the drain plug, even when removed. I thought the main drain line was plugged, as it had been before. Ken told me because the toilet was working OK, that wasn't the problem. He was able to go through the tub overflow pipe and clean the drain of hair and soap plugs. The drain hasn't run this well in the 15 years I've owned the house. My kitchen sink had backed up a week before, after something that went through the disposal apparently got hung up in the pipe. Ken asked if the line for that drain had ever been cleaned - I didn't even know there was a separate drain. From outside the house he was able to clean the line of the food blockage, grease, and corrosion. He said it looked as if no owner of the house had ever cleaned that line! Ken told me he has many years of experience and it showed. I particularly appreciated that he told me what I thought needed to be done was not correct and then proceeded to fix a problem I didn't know I had [kitchen], and a problem another company said was impossible to fix! He was on time for the appointment, did the job very efficiently, was careful of my tile, etc., and cleaned up after himself completely. I called his office after he left to tell them what a great job he did, and to tell them I was putting them on Angie's List with a grade of A.
