Great job

Joey, American Servepro came to my home to repair an AC/Heater window unit. His diagnosis charge for this was $29.99 which was fine. If he was able to fix the unit this charge would be credited against the total bill. He looked at the unit, saw some black burn marks on a circuit board and said this was the problem. He did not do any actual electrical checking of the unit. Said he would get the part and be back in a day or two. Called the next day and said he couldn't find the part. I told him I would order it directly from the manufacturer. Everything was fine to this point. When the circuit board arrived I put it in and the unit still didn't work. I called Joey and he said he would be out the next morning to look at the unit. No call, no show that morning. I was finally able to get in touch with him and he said he would be out late that afternoon. Again no call, no show. The next day, Saturday, I repeatedly called him, no response. On Sunday I did receive a message on my phone saying he had an emergency and would be out Monday morning. Again no call, no show Monday morning. This dance continued for the next 3 days, at which time I told him to forget it and I would find someone else to repair the unit. Joey was very unprofessional in almost everything he did during this episode. I would never consider using him again, and would not recommend him to anyone.

He came out to my house, took the washer apart, called and ordered a part, and told me it would be in within 10 working days (or sooner). He then told me he needed half the money down, so I paid him. He called back one time stating the part would be in, but I have not heard from him since. I have left him multiple voicemails. His voicemail box is full and I have read numerous things that states he is a scam.

I had a compressor & capacitor changed in my HVAC. He provided the best price, and performed the service as expected. There was a little delay in the completion of service, but overall i believe he made a good effort in trying to do the job expected of him. FYI - i paid him 50% before the job, and 50% at completion. Also my initial quote was for just the compressor being replaced; however since he didnt diagnose the issue with the capacitor at final bill time he only charged me for the labor of installing the compressor. Update on 09/27/2013: The compressor is out again; this has been 3 weeks of back and forth. Unfortunately i have had to update my review because of this. I will be using another provider. Update on 11/18/2013. I have filled a small claims suit against Joey Proper. He has refused to refund my money. Note - the address (if he provides it to you) 2302 Winthrop St, Dallas TX 75228 is not valid.

Beware This man is a con artist and should be removed from Angieslist, and arrested. After stressing to him how important it was to have the job done on Saturday, he assured me the prior Friday that he would be back in the morning to finish the job. He called me Saturday and told me that he couldn't get the part because the part store was closed. Evidentially, as an appliance repair man, he can't remember when the largest parts supplier in Dallas is open or closed. I asked him to return the check, but he has lied to us, numerous times, for over a week saying that he would, but has never shown up. After investigating him online, I see that he has done this to other customers. Please check, Joey Prosper on ripoffreports.com. I pulled the manual to the oven and ended up fixing the problem myself in about 5 minutes., with no parts needed. He then accused me of being a "set-up". We will continue to investigate this man.
