Big Daddys Moving LLC

Moving, Home and Garage Organization, Professional Moving Service Piano,

About us

Big Daddy’s Moving LLC is a high quality moving company similar to White Glove Movers but at an affordable price. We operate all over the DFW area out of one location in Hurst. We are a family owned business and have been operating since 2007. The owner of the company, Rex Peterson, is a veteran and a retired police officer. Our main focus is quality over quantity focusing on providing the best moving experience possible. We have been working closely with interior designers, stagers, insurances and remodeling companies who trust the quality and consistency of our services. Our website is https://bigdaddysmoving.net. You can also submit a free quote request through our page or call directly our office at 817-504-7628. Our team strives to go above and beyond with any job thrown our way. We move you from an apartment, high rise, office space, house, or load your own rented moving truck, or just move belongings within the home. We also handle out of town moves and out of state moves. We also offer full packing services in addition to our loading services. You will have the same group of movers from the beginning of the move to the very end of the move. In case the moving date needs to change we will be flexible at no cost with all our customers. All our guys are great handymen and carry basic tools with them. They will disassemble the furniture and put it back together at the new location if requested. They will also unhook/plug back appliances if necessary. Everything is and will be well protected with our plastic shrink wrap, heavy-duty moving blankets, and special bubble wrap for delicate items. Some of our movers have over 10 years of experience in this industry. Our reputation is something we value dearly here at Big Daddy’s Moving. Our experienced movers will value your belongings and your time. If given the opportunity to do business with you, I have no doubt in my mind that you will be happy with our service.

Fantastic. I have used many movers over the years, these guys are the best. Very professional, polite, efficient, fast, and great price. They gave me an Angie's List discount too. Rex is very easy to reach and scheduling was easy. He called me the night before and that was great. Really good movers, I will use them again if needed.

We hired them for a local move. The coupon was great. They did a good job. They were a little late, but they called and it wasn't a big deal.

Rex's team are AWESOME!  We decided last minute to switch to a local moving company, and Rex came throught with a 4-main crew on the day we needed it.  Chris headed up the team, and was on time, conscientious, and extremely careful with our belongings.  The move took all day in humid raining conditions, but the team got it done.  The only thing that broke was a small butter tray that fits in fridge.  Rex promptly offered to replace at no-cost.    We love working with local small business service providers.  Definitely would use again!  AAAAA++++++!

They were great.  Rex called us the day before and went over final details.  Crew showed up exactly on time.  4 guys worked hard and everything made it without damage, except for a few minor scratches on a couple items which just cannot be avoided in a big move.  They were done under budget and in less time than we were quoted by other moving companies.
I have never had a good experience with movers until now.  I hope I don't move again anytime soon, but if I do it will be with these guys.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness of Rex at Big Daddy's moving.  Initially I experienced a scheduling miscommunication where only 2 movers were sent to move my apartment out of building with an elevator.  This caused the move to take well over an hour longer than it should have.  I called Rex, explained the situation and he subtracted the travel time on my current move from the bill.   The guys that I had still worked themselves to death and I tipped them for their work.  Rex also gave me a concession for my future move out of storage to the new apartment and offered to provide me with 3 guys for the price of 2 as well as deduct the travel time.
This past week, we moved out of storage and used Big Daddy's again; Rex himself showed up to assist and supervise.  We ran into an issue where the oversized sofa wouldn't fit through the door and down the hallway.  Rex and his guys attempted to lift it over the balcony and in through the patio door; sadly the sofa got the best of them and didn't make it into the apartment.  He's currently storing it for free until he's able to get a few more guys to come and help.
I'm still very pleased with Rex & Big Daddy's and I will definitely plan on using them again.  Thanks again!

The BDM rep assured us that 3 men and their truck would arrive at 9:30 am on Monday morning, which they did indeed.  While one man prepared their truck to load, I showed the other 2 men the boxes and furniture that should be moved.    I am horrible with remembering names, so we eventually joking referred to our movers as Mr. Clean, Chris Rock Lite, and Sweet Cheeks.  All three men were jovial and good natured about the nicknames, but still maintained their professionalism and courteousness throughout the long and tiring day.    After the initial walkthrough, Mr. Clean did advise me that it was likely that an additional trip would be required, and that my 10 x 25 storage unit might not be large enough, but they would do everything they could to complete the job in one trip, and in one storage unit.  All three guys got straight to work, and always asked me questions to be sure of what needed to be loaded.  Sweet Cheeks noted some previous damage on one of our pieces of furniture and made sure to address this with me so we would both be on the same page in regards to the quality of their service, and I really appreciated their attention to this type of detail.    As hard as they were working, and especially with as many boxes and belongings they had to pack, I willingly and gladly chose to provide lunch for this crew.  Please note, they did not ask for lunch or even a lunch break, but I felt that they certainly deserved one.  They were very grateful and thanked me profusely, which again, I didn't mind doing this one bit.  When I returned with lunch, Sweet Cheeks advised me that they would complete the loading of a few pieces they had ready for the truck, and then they would take a lunch break and "stop the clock" while they ate.  These guys took about 15 minutes to eat and were back at it without any messing around.  I really applaud their tenacity and work ethic.  They also cleaned up any trash they generated (water bottles, lunch bags).    These guys worked from 9:30 am till 9:30 pm, literally sun up to sun down.  We did have to make 2 trips, and we did have to rent an additional small storage unit, so Mr. Clean was spot on with his earlier estimate.  The guys provided their own tools and took great care when dismantling our large and heavy furniture.  I know this is the type of job they do, but I can't say enough good things about how hard they worked, and how much they had to load and unload.  I will definitely hire this company again, and hopefully this crew will be available to move our belongings from storage to our new home.  Never once complained or commented negatively about the amount to load or the weight of the items loaded.  My cell phone had a low battery and Mr. Clean was generous enough to allow me to use his phone charger.  These guys are truly the best!  By all means, hire them!  (Just don't hire them on the day that I need them again!) LOL

This is the fifth time I use Big Daddy Moving and I am impress every time, the quality is A-1 and they are fast and careful. I like that they do not mess around even in 100 degrees weather.
The Movers arrived on time, were polite and assessed the situation right away, then they proceeded immediately to move the big item first and with everything else following. The movers were professional, were careful and paid attention to the recommendation/comments I was making about particular boxes being fragile. They had an attention to details and were carefully wrapping furniture when needed. They carefully arrange the items in the truck and secure them tightly.
Once at the home for unloading they were careful with moving the furniture around and placing it in the designated spot. The work was done with military precision and I was very please with the time and the quality.
I have recommended Big Daddy to several happy customer and will keep doing so.

Chris & Alex did a great job.  Very professional, took great care with all of our furniture items and with getting them out of the house and into storage or the apartment with a great deal of care.  Treated our things as if they were their own.  We greatly appreciated their attention to detail.

It went great.  The guys were right on time and the only hiccup was that their GPS didn't guide them in so we had to figure out where they were when they called and gave them directions in. (I hate GPS for that reason)  They set up our beds and put everything where we wanted it.  A great job.

First, I would like to say that each person I talked to was polite, and the movers arrived on time. However, the time it took seemed extraordinarily long. The two men sent to move furnishings from the 3 bedroom multiple story apartment to a 3 bedroom ranch style house were very polite, but it took 4 hours to move the boxes and furnishings - NO APPLIANCES- to the new house. The movers took a load to the van, lowered the dock, placed the items on the loading dock, raised the dock, placed the items in the van, lowered the dock, and returned for the next load. I felt they could stage many more items on the dock and it would have taken much less time. I called Rex and he felt the time used was on track. I, unfortunately, disagree. We have been involved in many moves, but this one took the most time for number of items moved of any move we've been involved in.
Response from Big Daddys Moving LLC

"The total move took 5 hours and 45 minutes ( this includes a 1/2 hour charge before arrival which covers our trip charge and a 20 minute drive between the two locations), that means minus the drive time that the total move was completed in 3 hours and 55 minutes. The distance at the first location from where the truck could be parked to the door of your sons 2nd floor apartment was close to 40 yards. I'm not quite sure how long you expected the job to take, but 3 hours and 55 minutes is a very quick move for a 2 bedroom apartment. I would also like to make note, that as I write this response we have still not been paid for the move ($ 546.25) which took place on May 31 , your sons credit card that he gave us was declined and I find it ironic that your negative review was posted on the same day that I phoned you and asked if you could please have your son pay the balance. thank you, Rex O. Peterson"

They showed up right on time and everyone introduced themselves to me and my wife.  Each of them was really nice and courteous and took good care of moving items from one home to another.  We moved from a 2000 sq.ft really packed house so it took 5 of the Big Daddys guys all day. During the move while maneuvering the truck through the back alley one of the truck tires went over our neighbor?s  grass on couple of places, no big deal,  it is back alley any way and outside of their fence but the neighbor?s wife was pretty adamant that we fix the tire marks.  I communicated that to the owner of Big Daddys mover and he said he would take care of it and he did.  Couple of days later someone showed up and fixed the areas of the tire marks on grass.  I will highly recommend these guys and hopefully they will keep their service level as it is going forward.

My wife and I have moved several times (too many times!), so we have a ton of experience with movers.  I can say hands-down that Big Daddy's Moving was far and away the best group of movers we've ever had.  The crew was very polite and friendly, took extreme care to avoid any dings and dents that inevitably happen during a move and worked their butts off for almost 12 hours in the Texas summer heat.  Very satisfied, to say the least, and would highly recommend them to anyone moving in the DFW area.

Bottom line;  I ended up moving a lot of my belongings myself.  They were astoundingly up front and nonchalant about telling me and my wife very direcly that they were not going to fix their mistakes, with the exception of Rex, the owner, and the girl who answers the phone.
For context purposes;  I am recently married, and my new wife and I were moving-in together to a new apartment.  We were moving the contents of my apartment in Arlington and her apartment in Grand Prairie to a new third apartment.
They arrived on time at the first apartment with a large truck, very quickly and effeciently took out what I believed was everything, then left for the second apartment.  At this poitn I was very pleased.  However, I did a walk-through of the apartment, and found that most of an entire room had not been moved, including a closet full of clothes, two dressers, and other misc items.  I called the movers and told them they had missed the room, and they stated they were not going to come back for it, because they were already in Arlington, and that I should have told them they had missed it earlier. This was very upsetting, as they made a point in the intital hiring process to say they would stay until the last item was moved, no matter what.  I also feel very strongly that it is the responsibility of the movers to make sure they get every room. When I am paying someone, I don't expect that I have to point out the basic elements of their job to them in order to get those aspects completed.  In this case, I don't  see it as going above and beyond to stick your head in a room to see if all of the contents have been taken when you are getting paid $125 hr to move all the items in a location.  I ended up having to load up these items in my car to take back to the new apartment, a 20 minute drive each way, and it took four extra trips each way (8 total)  to do so.  That was a lot of time, energy, and gas to waste.
I was baffled and infuriated to find the same thing happened at the next apartment, which was exceptionally irritating and hard to explain because the new apartment was only 150 feet from new one. (Same complex, same parking lot).   As I was driving back and forth picking up the stuff they missed, they moved the second apartment to the new one.  After a few hours my wife called to tell me that they were getting their things together to leave, but the kitchen, two closets, and our laundry room had not been moved.  I called the movers to tell them they needed to move all the rooms, and the lead guy, Ray, said they were already finished, and that was all they were going to do.  They told me it was my fault, because I wasn't in the apartment to tell them what to take.  This made me angry because 1) my wife was there to tell them (and did!) 2) The only reason I wasn't there was because I was finishing the job they were supposed to do, and 3) Again, I can't fathom why they didn't believe it was their job to make sure everything in the place was moved, when that is exactly what they were being paid to do.  I would like to reiterate that this time it would not require them to drive back to the orignial apartment, it was in the same place, and they still wouldn't do it!  It would only take them actually walking across the parking lot do finish the job.  My wife was uncomfortable trying to get them to walk back over and finish when they so clearly didn't want to, so I had to accept it.  I drove back from the first apartment with the last load, and when I got there Ray and his crew were still there, waiting for payment.  They had been standing there the whole time, and could have already gotten the rest of our things.
I talked to Rex, the owner, and he was very apologetic and offered to send out a second crew the next day free of charge to move the rest of the stuff.  He was very nice and very eager to make up for the problems.  The second crew came and moved some of the things, but, amazingly, they again left the entire kitchen and laundry room.  I spent 2 hours that night getting the rest of the stuff they missed.
I ended up moving about 50% of my stuff.  I recently moved here from Ohio, and didn't know anyone in the area to help with this move, hence the hiring of the company.  Overall they are nice, with the exception of Ray, and do a good job for the 50% of the job they actually do, but I was paying for the total move.  When I was giving Ray my payment info to pay for the job, he made the comment that he "was sorry, and that he would have gotten the other rooms if he had known about them" .  I told him he knew about them now, and he could  still at least move the stuff in the nearby apartment, but he wasn't receptive to that.  That added a nice little insult to the end of a very unpleasant experience.  It felt like Ray was throwing it in my face, because he had every opportunity and ability to do what I was asking, but simply didn't.
My original plan was for my wife to coordinate with them while I was at work, but I ended up having to stay home from work all day to make sure things were getting done, and, in the end, most still didn't.  I spent at least as many hours moving my stuff as they did, and they got paid a considerable amount.  They are much more expensive than other companies that I got quotes from, but they did not do the complete job.  Again, they were ( except Ray ) polite and nice, but I wasn't paying someone to be nice, I wanted my stuff moved.
Response from Big Daddys Moving LLC

"First, I do apologize for any problems that took place during your move and we hate it when a move doesn't go perfect. I believe after speaking with you and with my crew that provided the service, that there was a communication problem, this can happen when there's a lot of details, with multiple stops and the customer is not present to answer questions, we always prefer the customer to stay and check the location before leaving if at all possible. I did call you that afternoon and you informed me that some things were left at your apartment, but that the closet was in a odd place and could be easily overlooked, and that the guy's were great. I in turn, offered to send a crew the next day to get the remaining items at no charge to you, you accepted the offer and a totally different crew came the next morning. I must say, I am surprised that the crew that came on the second day, left without getting all of your things, they came at no cost to you and were instructed to stay until you were satisfied. That not 1, but 2 separate crews left things, leads me to believe that there was a miscommunication problem of what was to be moved. I am a bit puzzled on how the second crew could of left without you mentioning that there were still items to be moved, and if you would have phoned me, I would have sent them back , again free of charge. All of my movers are good guy's, they do these job's day in and day out and typically the customers love them. I do appreciate your business and also the feed back and will review this particular job with my movers. thank you, Rex Peterson"

Chris and Chris were prompt and professional. Rex had given me an estimate that was spot on.  I have antique furniture and it was all handled with care.  I have an especially challenging piece - a "knock down" armoire - that had to be taken apart and shrink-wrapped in pieces.  There isn't room for it in my new apartment, so they figured out how to maneuver it into one of my apartment closets, along with another trunk that needed to be out of the way.  They calculated the best way to do it and were very careful in getting those big pieces into a small space. I hope not to move again in a long time, but when I have to I will call Big Daddy's again.

I know movers as due to work I used to move every 2 to 3 years and they were GREAT!!!  They introduced themselves.   They were fast and mindful of my walls ( ie they did not scratch the walls as they moved my stuff).  They were on time. They got right to work. They were VERY courteous and asked me about placement of everything.  They wiped their feet.  They moved me without ANYTHING being damaged/broken. LOVED IT!!!  I would have paid less BUT I moved a considerable distance away so I paid in travel time from one residence to the other.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!!!

The quote was within good range of comparable estimates but the quick response and reassurance that they know what they are doing sold me. Rex came to my house to be sure he had a truck large enough and even has a back up plan because the last local mover required two trips. I feel confident everything will go well.
