I expected a lower repair fee, but other companies charged more for the initial service call, so the cost probably balanced out in the end. A tenant actually handled the appointment and was there while the repair was made; I was not there. The tenant had not complaints about how the service call was handled.

I was happy with their inspection work.

I called them because my regular plumber doesn’t have a camera that looks inside the pipes for testing. They were very efficient in taking the call and scheduling. I was very specific when I told them that I needed camera work done in my pipe. The plumber came out quickly. I had explained what was happening to the person who came out. He said Village Plumbing didn’t have cameras and told me whom to call. It was actually a service call that wasted my time. The person who answered my call should have said that they didn’t do camera work. I called them on another occasion to tell them that my dryer vent had become loose and that they needed to come with a vent kit. When the person showed up he didn’t have a clue as to why he was even there. The service was fine, but they were a little expensive.

I have used Village Plumbing for plumbing and heating/cooling problems for many years. They have they performed exceptionally well in these areas, and I have given them very good ratings. Recently they have expanded into repairing major appliances. Their primary appliance technician was David. David, like the other Village Plumbing technicians was very good. During a visit where he fixed our washing machine, I had him take a look at a problem with our Thermador stove top. He indicated it could use a new heating element. He ordered a new replacement. Unfortunately, subsequently David was subsequently injured, and after a some delay a new person came to install the new heating element. After the installation, a pilot light remained on. I was informed that it was supposed to stay on, and it was now fixed. I indicated that I thought it was supposed to indicate a hot surface. I was told I was wrong, it indicated that the stove top was connected to an electric source. The technician left. Subsequently, I noted that all the heating elements would turn on when only one switch was turned on. The technician returned and announced that all the switches were burned out, and since the unit was old, they might be difficult to replace. The new technician didn't recall any discussion/problem with the pilot light. I subsequently invited the technician to leave. It would appear that Village Plumbing has expanded beyond its capability level.

Everything was accomplished within three working days.

I have used Village Plumbing several times and have always been very happy with their service. I placed an SOS call at 8am and they were here at 2:30pm the same day. They are punctual and will actually wait if they arrive before you..They bring a door mat to wipe their feet on before entering your home and actually carry paper towels to clean up the inevitable spill or splash. Our home was built in 1926 and has "vintage" plumbing- Nick is a master at finding just the right gasket or fitting to repair the faucet or, as in this case, feed line. I know there are cheaper plumbers out there but we wouldn't call anyone else to keep our creaky plumbing working.

The first time, a guy came out to respond to a question about my washing machine, which was leaving brown spots on my clothing. He cleaned the machine, examined it, and told me it was not worth repairing. I ended up purchasing a new washing machine at his recommendation. The second time, I called for a stopped up bathroom sink. Another technician came out and unstopped the sink, and solved the issue. The third time, I called them for a winter checkup on my furnace system. They recognized that the warm air return was located too closely to my bedroom door, which was causing the cool air to be sucked from my bedroom as quickly as it was blown in. He advised installing an additional warm air return, which I had them do. The work they did was very neat. I have been happy with them overall, and will continue to use them.

They were very responsive and quick. I didn't interact with them, as the work was done on my rental property. They called in to cancel the appointment on the first day, as somebody called in sick. They were then able to schedule for the following day and they came back to finish the work. I didn't get any complains from my tenants as well.

The repairman did not have the part needed to repair the washer. However, he called back in several days as soon as it arrived, just as he said he would. He came promptly the next day, at the scheduled time, and repaired the door.

I have used Village Plumbing in the past with prior, positive reports. With family visiting, the shower regulator on the guest bathtub fell off. This had happened on my boys' tub six months prior. Since they do not stock my finish, the replacement came (for free) from the manufacturer (which took one month, but my boys only take baths), and I only had to pay labor for the replacement of the faucet. (I was told that time and this time that the knob/regulator could not be fixed.) Immediate appts were not available --and my finish is not in stock -- so while talking with the technician on the phone about my options to get my in-laws a shower without them climbing the stairs, it was settled that I'd find the appropriate faucet/finish at a local store and Village Plumbing would replace the broken faucet. While at the various stores looking for the replacement, I was told by several salesmen that repair kits are available. I then went to the Village Plumbing showroom on Kirby to figure out what was going on (since I'm obviously not very handy and was very confused.) After a decently long conversation, I was told that Village Plumbing does not make repairs to plumbing; they only replace items because if they make repairs that then fail again, the plumbers have to redo the repair at no cost and they don't make money on those re-repairs. So, we bought a repair kit for under $20 (rather than several hundred for a new faucet plus the labor charge from Village Plumbing), my in-laws were grateful to take showers, and we felt reasonably handy.

A lot of people in the area use them and they are very clean and polite. I called them to get a quote and they took a very long time and finally when I got the bid it was a very high price. They had to dig up whole front yard and replace everything and it ending up costing more. In terms of their personality, they were professional, but their work was not. I called another company and they got the work done for a reasonable price.

They are local and are wonderful. You don’t have to wait for them to come out. They usually come the same day or the next day when you call. They will call the office if they don’t have the parts and so you don’t have to reschedule for another day to fix the issue. They price is fine and I will use them in the future.

I called for service at 10:46 AM. They took my pertinents and said that a repairman could be here between noon and four. She said that there was a $59 charge for a service call, that would not be charged if they actually performed work. They called at 2:20 PM and said David was on his way. David showed up a few minutes later. He listened to the problem. He carefully diagnosed the problem, and checked the machine over for other problems. He performed the repair quickly and efficiently. He left the area clean and organized. The total charge was $85. I am on the third load since he left and everything is perfect.

They provided excellent service. They were very prompt, clean, and detail-oriented. They did a thorough job. The job was a little extensive, but that's okay.

The experience went on extremely well. They offered fair price and I have no complaints. They were courteous and couldn't be any better. I would use them again if I had any problems with my appliances again.

He determined that a belt was bad; replaced it and started a new cycle to make sure there were no other problems.

Wonderful! Aaron is a very personable knowledgeable young man. He really knows his stuff about plumbing. He explained everything and gave me some good maintenance advice, too. He even tightened something in our bathroom sink that my wonderful (but unhandy) husband had already "fixed".

They come out every year and check out all of my plumbing. They have always been really good at letting me know that the contract is coming up for renew. This is until last October. I was not notified and my contract expired.

Technician was supposed to arrive between 8:00 and Noon, actual arrival was 11:30. This was only irritating in that we had afternoon plans and had expected the service to be completed before noon, not at noon. The tech arrived looked at the oven and said, the control board is bad and will need to be replaced. Once the control panel is working he can read the error codes (if any) and diagnose any other issues with the oven. The control board was on back order so we agreed we would call back to place the order at a later time. I was curious about all this so I decided to take off the trim on the oven and open the control panel myself. The caulk the painter used was still intact so I new the tech had not opened up the oven control unit to check it. I checked and reseated all of the connectors on the back of the control board, put everything back together and viola, the display came on and the oven now works. The replacement $300 control board was not needed after all. I think the tech should have opened the control panel and checked the connections, like I did, during the service visit. I called Village Plumbing to complain and they refunded me the charge for the service call. I do not know why the tech did not perform this basic troubleshooting step.

Called the company on January 5 to request the repair of a microwave oven that wouldn't start. They said they could send a technician the next morning, and I agreed. He arrived as promised, took the microwave apart, tested the main fuse and found it to be defective. He analyzed the door switch and concluded it was not defective. He didn't have a replacement fuse in his truck and decided to go to the nearest hardware store where he bought the fuse. He installed it, and the microwave oven appears to be working properly. The whole job including the purchase of the fuse took about two hours.

It seemed to me that every job that they are willing to do costs a minimum of $280. I was in a bind, so we agreed to have them come to the house. They are not forthcoming with prices for over the phone. He did work that was not difficult. The technician was pleasant, punctual, and polite. Unfortunately, the prices are too high and I will shop around next time. The new garbage disposal quit while he was there, but he replaced it right away. I will be responsible for the next one.
