Village Plumbing and Home Services was at my home in October 3rd, 2007. The toilet wasn't draining. He charged me $ 319.78. They were older but they were competent. I felt they were competent. The main reason we stopped using them was because they were sky high. They were really, really expensive.

I bought my water heater from Village Plumbing 7 years ago. On Good Friday of 2013 I had a lukewarm shower so relit the pilot light. Saturday morning, I did not have even lukewarm water and couldn't get the pilot to stay lit. I called Village, they sent someone out within an hour. Will determined that the gas regulator valve was the problem, unfortunately they didn't stock the part but he would find one for me. On Monday, he called to say he'd found the part and could come out Tuesday afternoon to replace it. He arrived promptly and replaced the valve. He said if it went out again, the burner assembly would need to be replaced - at no additional cost to me. Wednesday, back to lukewarm water and the burner would not stay lit. I called Village again and Wednesday afternoon Jason came out with a new burner which unfortunately was not the correct one. He said he would get one for me and be back on Thursday. On Thursday afternoon he came out and replaced the burner and I'm back to having reliable hot water.
I have had Village do work for me before and am always impressed with them. They are prompt, clean up after themselves, friendly and go the extra mile. My only complaint is that they are a little on the high side, but I've gone with cheaper plumbing services and not been happy with the mess they have left behind. I recommend Village to all of my friends.

I have worked now with 3 different Village plumbers. I recommend their team. I also find their dispatch and managers responsive to my calls. I had to have a few different visits to get everything working absolutely right and Village was professional and always worked with my busy schedule. Having a service/maintenance agreement is a great way to go if you think you'll need to tackle a bunch of plumbing things (or appliance repair - they also do this work) in a particular year. When we first moved here last March another company was the one we had do some initial fixes per the closing agreement with the home's seller. There was nothing about that experience that made me want to consider them again. However, I do feel loyal to Village now as they have taken great care with my home and helped me fix a bunch of things.

We bought a house with a LG gas range and cooktop last March. Whenever I used oven I smelled gas at the time I turned it on. Also cooking times were off for baking and roasting, etc. Had another company out here in June that stuck a sensor in oven and said, and quot;oh it's fineand quot;, but it wasn't. Village's Javier came out Jan 8th to look at it. He recommended a new ignitor and sensor. He cautioned me that LG replacement parts were pricey. Unfortunately, the seller of the house didn't leave me with a warranty or invoice to use with LG. Anyhow, it took several weeks for the parts (LG only has 1 distributor nationwide). But Village got the parts to me as soon as they could - and Javier returned Feb 1 to install these. I cooked and baked all weekend and so far, so good. No smell of gas when turning oven on - and temp held steady for long periods of cooking. I am hopeful all is fixed.

He gave me several options to fix the leaky faucet. He tried the cheapest option first to see if it would fix it instead of first going to the most expensive way.

David cleaned out the pipes in the kitchen and bath and after almost 2 years in my house, for the very first time, I had water pressure like I'd never had before. The climbing water biill turned out to be a result of two leaky toilets (one in the main house and another in the garage unit). The leaks were so quiet that the problem simply wasn't evident. Long story short, my water bill the next month was back down to about $75 per month - and has since stayed that way - and to date, my water pressure remains AMAZING. While I'll change out the plumbing at some future point, it is no longer a priority, thanks to David. I remain most grateful to him. He was scrupulously honest, imminently qualified, and just all-around decent. I couldn't be more pleased.
My experience with Village Plumbing was so great that when I needed an appliance repair due to a gas leak on one of the gas stoves in one of the garage units, I called Village back. Again, i was not disappointed. I also had my AC/Heating checked by Village (Louis Velasquez) and, again, was beyond impressed with Louis's professionalism and honesty. Even the staff at Village are phenomenal. I now have a service contract with Village because they have consistently come through and have consummate professionals working for them. In total, I've paid out approximately $1,000 for the plumbing, the appliance repair, AC/heating check as well as the service contract. I couldn't recommend Village more highly. THANK YOU, Village Plumbing!

Had an emergency situation this Sunday a.m.: found my townhome's backyard flooded and pressurized water spurting up from something in the ground. My neighbors recommended calling Village Plumbing. Chris G. came within the hour. It turned out to be something related to my outside irrigation line. It had been ripped when some landscape work was done and I had - unfortunately - turned on the system 2 days ago to manually water the front yard of my home. Ugh. I can't wait to see my City of Houston water bill next month - but at least it didn't flood my home or something worse. Anyhow, Chris set the cut off valve for the irrigation system and tested that the water was no longer flowing to it. He was professional, polite, and informative to me as I am a new homeowner here in Houston. I ended up signing a 1 year plumbing agreement with Village today and saved $50 on the emergency call!

A horrible experience.

1. Incorrect parts ordered for the job.
2. Job repeatedly postponed.
3. Never arrived on time when they said they would.
4. Did not abide by specified job duration and then denied that they had ever specified the original duration.
5. Management did not respond to first expression of complaint until repeatedly called back.
6. Failed to adequately inspect work post job completion, resulting in water damage to sheetrock.

I will never use this company ever again! My experience of Village Plumbing on this suggests that both their technical skill and customer service is seriously deficient.

After moving into my first house, I was completely devastated to come home one night and find that water had backed up out of my master bathroom sinks, through the floor and into my living room downstairs. I had no clue as to what caused the issue but thought it might be a backed up pipe tied to my washer and dryer as I had done laundry that night, so I called out Village. The service technician (Shawn) was great. He was very professional and thorough in his explanations.
After first trying to snake out the washer and dryer line, the water still hadn't drained out of my bathroom sinks. He attempted to snake my bathroom pipe lines, but unfortunately the two master sinks had pipes that T-Boned and wouldn't allow for snaking on either side. This required him to cut into my cabinets at the T-Bone sight and snake from there. Once again, he was very thorough in explaining/showing all of this to me. He then showed me the issue with my backed up pipes (algae growth) and discussed ways to prevent this from happening to all of my sinks/pipes on a go forward basis.
While I was really happy with Shawn and the fact that my pipes were back to normal, I felt the expense was ridiculous. I understand double charging for snaking both the washer line and the sink lines. I also understand a small escalation for having to cut into my cabinets. But $300 for moving my stackable washer and dryer away from the wall? I felt this job deserved nothing more that 800-$1000 max.

Called to repair a dishwasher for a tenant in my daughter's home. I manage residential property. At first they were on the ball and they called my tenant to set up an appointment. The tech called me from the home and gave me an estimate and I told him to go ahead. I gave him a debit card and asked him to fax me an invoice. On Monday, I called the company and told them that I needed an invoice for the repairs. They told me that I could not have an invoice until I proved to them that I owned the house. ( I AM WONDERING WHY ANYONE WOULD ORDER AND PAY FOR REPAIRS ON SOMEONE ELSE'S HOME?) Later that day my tenant called to say that on Sunday she got up and her kitchen was flooded and she called to company to report. I again called the company and they told me that they had no record of her calling but would check on it. Again, I asked for a copy of the invoice. I was hoping that I was speaking to someone with some business sense, but evidently they don't have anyone. I still have not heard from them concerning the repair and am still waiting on an invoice. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN!

A service call was placed at 8:30a.m. No one arrived until 1:15p.m. despite having an a.m. service window (9a-1p). The service required was on a Sub Zero ice maker. Ice was being produced but water was leaking into the receptacle causing an ice block. Firstly, the technician opened the fridge and commenced work allowing ice and water to drop on the wood floor while he disassembled the unit. I was happy to provide towels but you would think that they would be requested prior to commencing. What followed was an odyssey. He proclaimed that the unit leaked because the teflon coating was peeling and would have to be replaced. When asked to explain, he then proclaimed that there was corrosion. When asked to please demonstrate the area of corrosion, he was then silent and unable to demonstrate. This gentleman obviously new nothing about Sub zeros, he couldn't even replace the receptacle back into the Fridge--I did it for him. At this point I called the office and the service person apologized and said she was unclear as to why the 'experienced' Sub Zero technician had not been sent out but she would get him out as quickly as possible. 2 hours later I call to check on this next technician and was informed that unfortunately she had misunderstood and thought I didn't want anyone out to service my problem. I then spoke to the Manager who informed me that he was sorry that "I didn't believe his technician but that he stood behind his assessment". The truly unfortunate circumstance is that these people obviously do not screen their technicians and can't be bothered with customer service. The only reason they survive is that they are located in an affluent area with a public who is either unsuspecting or too busy to take note.

Plumbing:The plumber arrived first, a younger guy with a decent grasp on the work. He looked around and had an idea of the work, but went ahead and called his manager to come over and take a look just to be certain. I appreciate this level of service. They spent about 20 minutes game planning how the repair would happen, so they knew how to correctly estimate the time and material.
As this is a remodel of the whole house and multiple services (HVAC, plumbing, electric, etc) we've been using Angie's list to get 3-5 bids per service. They spent the most time at the house which is great. I know they knew exactly what they were bidding. But the bid came back 100% higher than the next highest estimate (from another plumber with a graphics covered van and his face on his business card). Just way too much. Ultimately we went with a guy in a truck plumber (still a master plumber with all the right permits pulled and inspections). He replaced a lot of work with new copper rather than the cast iron tap ins that Village had specified. So less than half the price for what I believe to have been as good or better work. It also did not take three calls just to get him scheduled to come out for an estimate.
HVAC:While the plumbing folks came out to look at the water works they took a look at the gas and estimated $1500 just to get the system up to snuff (lots of valves and vents that are grandfathered, but would need to be updated if we added a new gas line for a furnace), so we decided to go with a heat pump. We got 5 estimate for HVAC with Village being the last. By the time they came out we knew what we wanted, 3 ton 14 SEER system with a heat pump. Our electrician would wire for it and we had the subfloor up in the room next door for easy plumbing to the outside evap. Of the five estimates the one from Village was 1.8 x higher ($13,500 vs $7,500) than the estimate from Lee Thompson Company, who we chose to use. They both specified Lennox systems. The kicker is that Lee Thompson installed equipment one tier higher than the system which Village wanted to use. So Village wanted nearly twice the money for lesser quality equipment. No thanks.
General:They are nice guys, they probably do really great work, but with minimal effort you can probably get the same level of work done for half the price. And the real kicker, just to get an estimate you have to pay $55 (Ok so I understand a service call fee if you are looking at a repair, but for remodel work it is just insulting to charge somebody for an estimate).
I will continue to visit Gary in the showroom for small parts and repair advice and we will probably give him our business when we buy a couple new toilets and a kitchen sink. But you better believe Village will not be installing them.

It seemed too high to just replace a faucet, so we decided not to hire Village Plumbing and to check AngiesList for other plumbers (their very high price was the main factor in checking out other businesses - we have hired Village before and they have done a quality job, though always expensive). Chose Chavez Plumbing who offered a good price but didn't deliver either (see my other review of Chavez Plumbing).

I checked the web and plumbing stores and fixed the problem myself for total less than $60, so it was not an impossible problem for professional plumbers to solve. We will not be hiring Chavez Plumbing and definitely not Village Plumbing again (we paid $65 to Chavez Plumbing for diagnostics and $59.99 to Village for diagnostics, and I solved the problem myself for less than $60). Waste of time, money and a lot of headache besides the fact that they are extremely over-priced and over-charge unsuspecting customers. Thank you Angieselist for your great service.

It was a difficult, messy job, but the repair was excellent with good cleanup.

My dislike was the pricing. One price was given, but I could get a discount by buying a year's service contract which really just brought the price back up to the initial price. Of course, I ended up not needing any plumbing services for the next year.

We contacted Village Plumbing about installing a standard salt/brine water softener. Since the house had not been plumbed for such a softener when built, other alternatives were discussed. We made decision to install a Noritz tankless water treatment device that removes those minerals from the water that cause scale buildup in hot water heaters, pipes, dishwashers and other household devices that use water.
The installation work was most excellent. The two gentlement who did the job were thorough, diligent, personable and competent. They went the extra mile to do the work right and to explain the system to us in detail.
