Village Plumbing & Air

They were professional. They were on time. They were punctual. They were nice. But they wanted to charge me a lot of money and just sell me stuff. Should have been a minor fix but instead they wanted to sell me stuff. I lost trust in them. I wanted faucets replaced and they wanted me to get cabinets etc.

They came out and took a look at system and oh my goodness you need a whole new air conditioning unit it is going to cost about ten thousand dollars. They said it was urgent and I really needed to do it right away. I said thanks and he said here is the information with the bill for looking at it now. I had someone else come out and save me eight thousand dollars. I think they do a good job they just want to sell you stuff. They were on time and punctual but just to sell me something.

I had a home A/C unit leaking freon. The service guy from Village Plumbing arrived promptly and was professional. I made the appointment online, which was convenient. I was told that the freon leak was in the attic unit, and that none of the parts were under warranty. He said I had to replace both the attic unit as well as the outside unit (because of new freon issues) and quoted me a price of more than $9,000 for parts and labor. This sounded extreme. I had a second and third company look at the problem. The leak was actually found in the outside unit in a cooling coil. They called and learned that the coil is still under warranty. I had the coil replaced and new freon added for a total price of $785- about 12 times lower than what Village Plumbing wanted to charge. This company services the WestU/Bellaire area, so I think they have the attitude that they can overcharge for services and parts and nobody will think twice. I suggest that you avoid this company altogether. Questionable service and high prices are a bad combination.

To call on a Monday morning and have service by 8:40 AM was fantastic!! John solved the problem, explained everything, and was his usual professional self.

They replaced the A/C. They came in and did a check. Looked at the heater, looked at the A/C and went ahead and charged the A/C with freon. Then I called them back about 2 weeks later and asked them to come back again because one of the A/C in the house wasn't cooling and we had a leak and we had to replace it, so they did it.They do an inspection every year. They're a little more expensive than the other guys I've hired here but they did very good work. the only issue with them is they were a bit expensive than the other guy that I had. I would use them again but it's good to take bids, A/C work is expensive so it's good to take bids. I have no problem at all calling them to do work for me but I would take bids and use the one that has a better price. Village Plumbing is good all around except the prices so they probably are the better known professional in this area. I had Village Plumbing come in and they were professional but they had to replace an air conditioning unit also and they gave me a high price for the service. I didn't ask for the inspection service, but I see why they would come in and that's the way of getting the business right away. They say something's wrong I'm not going to say fine that's okay see you later and have someone else do it. They also throw in a plumbing inspection. They asked me if I would like a free plumbing inspection at my yearly visit, and I said yes. They did the inspection the day after my air conditioner was changed. They came in and troubleshoot the air conditioner the following day they did the inspection on my plumbing. The guy showed up in the after noon, so I thought great. The air conditioner in the morning and the plumbing inspection in the afternoon. Within two days I got it done. They treated me well. Nothing wrong with my plumbing, they went through a checklist.

They asked me if I would like to be set up for an inspection on a yearly basis, I said yes. The guy showed up in the afternoon. A/C inspection in the morning and Plumbing in the afternoon. Within two days they got it done. They charged the air conditioner with freon at no expense to keep the house cool until they came in the following day and they were here first thing in the morning. They treated me well. Nothing wrong with my plumbing. They went through a checklist with me. I didn't follow them as close as I did with the air conditioning. Once or twice that I came up to check on them they weren't putting snakes or anything down the pipes. They were just opening the faucets to see. It was free. They called in the morning and by the afternoon they were there.

No leak found or could be replicated

A tech came out and recommended a hard start kit that was something like $600. Cut to this year when I'm selling my house and the inspection turns up that the evaporator coils are leaking and badly rusted--the damage was extensive enough that he couldn't believe someone would have recommended putting a new part on the air conditioner. There's no way that this wasn't something that could have been noticed and potentially prevented. Thanks for costing me thousands of dollars for a new system.

All work that I wanted done was great. Techs explained everything from the rooter to the tooter. Feel like I can do it myself next time. NOT. And the fact that is a woman owned business and that special woman is a Master Plumber...that intrigued me the most. Neighbors saw vans, got numbers, talked to me about service and want them to do estimates for them when ready. Enough said. Thanks Village. We really appreciate your service

I haven't decided if I want to work with them yet because they are kind of pricey. I've been referred to them by a few friends and they seem very honest.

Their quote was at least 3 times another licensed competitor. We did not use them for the repair itself. They were polite and professional during interaction.

I had a leak from my bathroom, the tech said that it would be $59.00 to diagnose and the $59.00 would be applied to the total repair if authorized. This seemed fair until I was told that the toilet needed a total rebuild and it would run me $400.00. I thought that was too expensive and when I said so the tech asked me what I wanted to pay. At this point I was not comfortable doing business because the rate should be equitable to all, not "Let's see how much we can charge the customer". I paid him the $59.00 and got some one else to come fix 2 toilets full rebuild and replace the shutoff valve on one toilet for $200.00.

So-so. They were on time, and polite, but that is about it.

We have used them for a few years. I have passed their name along to a lot of people. They aren't the cheapest people around town, but they do such a good job. They are reasonable. If you won't the cheapest, you aren't going to use them. If you want it fix you would use it. They have put in new water heaters. Anything you can think of, they have done. They always fix it. They do it quickly. If you call like an emergency. This is when my overtime starts. Lets get you in before overtime starts. They always do. If they can give it to me, they will.

The plumber arrived on time, checked my cartridge, answered my questions and acted very professionally. He was able to confirm that I had the correct cartridge and that it was installed correctly.

Paid $135 for him to light the pilot light and was told I might need to order parts for them to replace if it didn't stay lit. It went out later that day. The quote when at my home was $430 to put in the parts if I ordered them. Once I had the parts, they changed the price to $620. I had a different plumber put them in for $490.

They had been calling us but we hadn't been home. They actually repaired 2 air conditioners. They replaced one over a month ago and there was a noise happening every time the air conditioner came on coming thru the sink.  They had called us to find out how we liked their work and we explained to them what was going on. They said we would like to come and fix that. So we weren't home and they kept calling and asking when could they send someone. Finally, we were able to get an appointment. They came on Monday. It happened very fast, they're very good at that. When you call them, they come out right away. But they were very good actually at calling and keeping up with it. They didn't just forget about us and they knew there was something and so they just kept calling and also giving us a free plumbing inspection. 

We have a 3 story townhouse and we have 3 units. One unit was replaced over a month ago, on the second level. But there was some air that was coming thru every time the air conditioner would kick on, there was a noise coming thru the plumbing of my sink in my bathroom like air coming thru it, and it was making a loud noise. They were coming to fix it and they were also going to give us a free plumbing inspection because they had done the AC work for us. They finally came on Monday, and they got it fixed right away, it was something they had left that was loose.  They did the plumbing inspection and that was fine, but when they were also inspecting the air conditioners and they found out there was a leak on the 1st floor and there was something wrong with that air conditioner. So that had to be replaced. They came back that afternoon and finished the work. 

They were very efficient and fast. 

The price is a little high but they are very dependable. It was an all day job, I wasn't here but my husband was. I believe there were 2 or 3 men here doing the work and it was an all day project.  Because they left the noise that was coming thru I would give them a B for this time.
