TOMMYS TREE SERVICE

I lost a very large pine tree because of the drought. I took several bids from A rated tree service companies off of Angieslist. Tommy's Tree Service was the lowest bid. After Tommy gave me a bid we scheduled an appointment for a few days later. Then Tommy called and asked if his crew could come early. They did excellent job!. I was worried because I had a deck right under the tree and electrical lines to the side. No problem for Tommy's professional crew. They did the job very fast, cleaned up very well and I would highly highly recommend them.

called for estimate and Tommy came within 3-4 hours to my property which is so far out that many won't come out at all. he went through the property and made sure he addressed every safety issue related to the trees and our property. the arrangement was that they would come on monday to start work since he came on friday afternoonfor the estimate. the next morning, SATURDAY, we got up to find that a broken limb from a very large tree that had caused my call in the first place had fallen within inches of my shop roof. i called Tommy and told him what had happened overnight and again within 3 hours he and his helper were here..by this time the limb was within one inch of our shop roof. the limb was cut back a small amount at a time to prevent it falling into my roof and when it was safely away from my roof, they cut the branch at the break and laid it safely on the ground. Tommy and his crew came back on monday and tuesday of the next week and completed the job working around another crew who was working on my patio cover. they took down two very huge trees as well as cut back many others that were unsafe to my property...they never used spikes to climb any tree...Tommy is not only professional but he truly has a heart for the trees he cares for. my property was clean and the huge oak he cut down was cut up and stacked in cords for use in my fireplace...there was also a maple he cut up and stacked for use in my bar b que pit. There have been several companies on this propery to do what Tommy and his crew finally did with money paid but job not completed because "the trees are too big and it is too hard".....needless to say...TOMMY'S TREE SEVICE WILL BE THE ONLY COMPANY ON MY PROPERTY EVER...PROFESSIONAL...HONEST...AND A HEART FOR THE TREES AND THE CUSTOMER...WHO CAN ASK FOR MORE!!!!!!

I was looking for a company with a competitive price in addition to knowledge for tree care and they seemed to fit the bill. They didn't strip the trees of it's foliage, but did rid it of all the dead branches. Their estimate matched closely to other quotes that I received. They were right on time, worked for most of the morning and cleaned up after the work was done. My yard was actually cleaner after they left than before they arrived. They also honored their Angie's List coupon. I would definitely recommend them to a friend and I plan on using them in the future.

First, when I sent an email via Angie's List to Tommy's Tree Service asking for them to come out for an estimate, I got a reply in less than a hour, and the next day Tommy came out to look at all the issues at the time agreed on, and to give me an estimate. I had also sought estimates from other Angie's top-tier tree service providers, all of whom, like Tommy, were very professional. I chose Tommy for two reasons. First, he was more willing to discuss the why and the how to do what was needed, and seemed more experienced than the other people who submitted bids. Second, his price was good, not the lowest for sure, but way below the highest. At the appointed time, Tommy and his large crew, including his son, showed up (with the latest equipment) and went to work, all of them knowing exactly what to do. It was something to watch. What was memorable in a way, was when one of the guys who was trying to get all those grape vines out of the holly trees, a major task, asked if he could go to my neighbor's back yard, where some of the vines emanated, after laboriously cleaning out those coming from my yard, the neighbor's part not even in the project. I asked the neighbor if it would be OK and she said yes, with bells on, as one can imagine. Now, here's a guy, probably getting paid by the job, but wanting to get it done right even if it meant more work for him. That's a tribute to him, but says volumes about Tommy for having guys like this in his crew. Then, they did a lot of other little things that I'd asked for or that they suggested at the last minute, and certainly not in my original project bid ... at no additional cost. I could not give Tommy's Tree Service a higher recommendation. It was good to do business with a company that gives excellent service (and more) at a reasonable price, with hard working people signifying America at its best. If you need tree work, do yourself a favor and at least let Tommy have a shot at the job.

Excellent service. Called Tommy at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, and he was at my house by 6:30 pm that same day to do the estimate. Called Wednesday to hire him, and they were out at 9:30 am Thursday morning (as promised) to do the work. Great job on the trees as well as the clean up. Will defnitely hire him again.

Tommy's crew showed up on time and did an excellent job trimming the tree. They also sightly trimmed brunches of other trees in front yard hanging too low over the road for free. He cut trimmed brunches into fire logs and stacked them neatly behind garage. I called several contractors to compare prices and Tommy's service was the cheapest. I also used discount coupon from Angie's list magazine.

Tommy drove across Houston to give us a very detailed estimate. He was very polite and professional and told us exactly what he would be doing, why he thought it best to trim the branches that he chose, and what he would charge us for his work. We have two Oak Trees, an Elm Tree (which is the worst one) and a couple of others that need some work. We haven't decided yet who we're going with but Tommy's Tree Service will definitely be an option.

I have quite a few trees . . . four oaks, four pines, three pecans, a couple of tallow trees, some up to at least 60 yrs of age (so several of my trees are fairly large in size). In addition to having a large number of large trees, they were also still pretty rough from Ike (dead wood) and maimed from the bad trimming they received in '06. Now that Tommy and his guys have left my yard, I'm proud of my trees again! All the dead wood is gone (and there was quite a bit), no more mistletoe in my oaks, no branches close to the roof of my house, and all the trees were expertly thinned out. Since Tommy brought quite a few people with them, it didn't take them nearly as long to do all the trimming as I had figured it would. I plan to use Tommy again in the future and would gladly recommend him to my friends!

Tommy made sure his crew pruned the trees appropriately for the health of the tress and for curb appeal. They did a great job and there was no mess leaft behind.

Tommy was prompt in providing an estimate and then in doing the work once we agreed upon the price. I was not home when the work was done, but it was carried out as expected. It wasa job well done and I will call Tommy again when the need arises.

Tommy and his crew were great. They were prompt, courteous, professional, highly skilled, and extremely careful with every step of removing this tree, which extended over the roof of the house, flowering rose bushes and our neighbor's driveway. They cleaned up every bit of wood and hauled everything away. Tommy was highly recommended by our landscaper, Edward Hilla at Native Texas Wildscapes. I also would highly recommend Tommy, and would definitely use his company again.

Gave me a price of $450 + tax to trim 30 foot hight oak tree in front yard. Showed up the next morning half an hour early. We had just planted flowers around the base of the tree the weekend before. The first thing they did was to protect the flowers. Two of the 5 people stayed on the ground, one supervising, one cleaning up. The other three climbed up into the tree and trimmed for an hour and a half. We have lived here for 19 years and this the the best the tree has ever looked! It only took them a half an hour to clean up. Not a leaf on the lawn, great job.

Tommy came out a gave us an estimate on the tree and root removal. His quote was fair and I really liked him because he was very knowledgeable about his work. My husband & I felt comfortable that he and his crew would do a good job and we were right: it looks fantastic! We will never use any one other than Tommy's in the future. They are simply fantastic.

Punctual. Great clean up! Even trimmed a little on another tree that was not in the agreed price!

A huge tree limb from a 40 year-old ash tree fell on my car and so I went to Angie's List and got 3 bids. Tommy personally came to evaluate the job in only a couple of hours notice. He gave me a very reasonable bid that included some additional trimming that he suggested be done to the tree while they were there (to prevent some other branches from falling too). He promised his (5 man) crew would be there by 9am the next morning and sure enough they were. They finished in a couple of hours doing the job exactly as promised. They removed the limbs from the car in a careful manner that mitigated further damage (required using ropes to pull the branch while cutting). They also left a newly planted flower bed under the tree undisturbed. They cleaned everything up nicely. I would easily recommend them to others and would gladly use them again.

Never used Tommy's trees before and called him for a estimate.he came the same day I called.the amount to trim in the back yard tree was extensive.his expertise of what to trim off that tree to have the tree look good was impressive his price was very reasonable.the next day they were there to cut and trim the trees.I was very impressed also with his workers they worked well as a team.when I need my trees done again I deffinity call on Tommys Trees again

We had a maple tree in the back yard we needed cut down and a tree in my front flower bed that needed to be cut down also. Tommy come in the morning to give us an estimate and said he could get the job done that day. He cut down both trees and fertilized our maple tree in the front yard. They left my yard as clean as before they came. They cleaned up everything and didn't damage any shrubs or lawn in the process. I will use them again in the future. Thanks Tommy!

The quote was very competitive. The job was started on time and was projected to be completed by midafternoon the same day, but did not actually finish until the next morning. I think Tommy must have underestimated the magnitude of the job. The oak was about 50-60 yrs old and was huge. There was a large branch hanging over the house that I was very concerned about. They safely remove the limbs by toproping and then cut down the trunk with chainsaws. The had to bring in a small front end loader to remove the sections of trunk because they were so massive. They did a great job on grinding the stump and actually ground it about 10" below the surface of the surrounding area so I could fill it in with dirt and plant shrubs. I was really surprised and impressed at the depth to which they were able to grind the stump. Overall they did a great job and worked safely without harming either the house or their workers. They seem to be very experienced at this. Tommy in particular seemed to know a lot about the proper way to trim trees as I asked him about another large oak tree in our back yard. I would use them again. The only negative was that the grass in the front yard took a beating. Not only due to the felling of the tree and the large size of the equipment but also due to an equipment breakdown. They had to drive a truck up onto my lawn to try to jumpstart the stump grinding machine which had a dead battery.

I have used them for years. They are fair in their pricing. I credit them with the way they trim my trees as no trees were harmed during hurricane Ike. They are prompt, the trees really look good after they finish, and I would recommend them to anyone.

They were right in the ballpark with everyone else but they were not the lowest. He got back to me fairly quickly and it went pretty good. The person I talked to was courteous.

Tommy always does an excellent job directing his men to keep the ash from getting too thick with growth and to keep new growth away from nearby powerlines. When through trimming and thinning the tree, they leave the yard spotless.

Very professionally done, the company spent all morning and Tommie supervised the job himself. He is very knowledgeable, and explains things well. There are a lot of tricky bits, where they have to fit the root barrier around water lines and sprinkler lines. They took great care to identify each of these, measure the clearance and get the barrier installed snugly against them. 2-3 months later, we had a leak in our sprinkler. We thought it was the fault of the tree barrier installation, and called Tommie. He said just call him and let him know the cost, and he'd cover it. But it turned out it was a longstanding problem unrelated to the installation. Still, we really appreciated Tommie's attitude!

I have been using them for years. They were recommended to me by another company. They do a really good job. My experience with them has been great.

Tommy came out and trimmed and pulled a number of trees on my property. He was excellent. His bid was reasonable, he stuck to the price and he and hos crew did lots of little extras to make it right. If his price is reasonable, I will only use him in the future.

Tommy has always been punctual. His crew does an excellent job and cleans up and removed all debris. I credit the face that the storm didn't damage (except for one small limb) or destroy any of our six live oaks or four cotton woods. That's because of the way they have pruned our trees. The wind went through them instead of blowing them over.
