S.W.G. Plumbing Services

Horrible. No response, no call back. Ended up getting another plumbing company. They came in is a Saturday, with the new water heater. Three hours later, hot water was back.

Very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Services performed, removal and installation, were done properly and efficiently. A few hours after install was complete, another SWG Certified Plumber Project Manager arrived to inspect installation, answer questions and provide an overview of equipment controls and maintenance. He also provided tips to increase efficiency and reduce heating costs. Although he was young, he was "old school" in his professionalism and knowledge. Very satisfied customer, would recommend and hire again.

SWG identified, estimated, and repaired the leaking pipes all in a single visit. They had provided smaller plumbing service through our home warranty in the past, which led to me calling them when water was dripping through my son's bedroom ceiling. The repair was effective and done cleanly and quickly. I gave lower marks on cost and professionalism because I would have liked a little more pushback on the repair choice. It didn't become clear until after the pipe replacement was done that a whole-house repipe was the better (and long-term cheaper) option for a house the age of ours with galvanized pipe. So we will end up paying twice for the pipe sections they replaced rather than a temporary, cheaper clamp fix. I was happy with the work, and had SWG estimate the whole-house repipe. Their bid came in on the high end and I chose to go with another company for the work.

This is the third company sent out by my home warranty company to fix or replace my hot water heater (which broke 3 weeks ago). I was excited because the gentleman that came out was very nice and confirmed that the unit needed replacing. He said he'd call a diagnosis in so I expected I'd have hot water by the weekend. Not the case. It's almost 8 days later and he STILL has not called in the diagnosis. All SWG can say is that they aren't able to get a hold of the technician...did he disappear? Or leave the country? I don't understand. I decided to drop all companies recommended through HWA and hire my own. Spending the money out of pocket and waiting 4-6 weeks for reimbursement is better than having to deal with ANY of these companies again.

The service tech cut a hole in the ceiling to get to the pipe which was accessible in the attic. He assured me that American Home Shield would have the access hole repaired. American Home Shield states that this hole is too large and to date refused to have it repaired. I contacted another sheet rock person and they would only quote replacing the whole ceiling. I called SWG to get the name of the company they use to repair sheet rock so I at least could get a better price. The representative refused to do that and claimed it is up to me to deal with American Home shield and HUNG UP ON ME>

SWG was sent to my house to replace a water heater. They worked with American Home Shield to order the wrong water heater, charge me $190 to install 9" of vent pipe for their mistakes. AHS and SWG blame each other for the wrong water heater and force me to pay so my family has water. They separated the vent pipe above the ceiling and cut a hole to reconnect it and I still have a hole in my ceiling, 6 weeks later. I have sent all the info and pictures to a few news programs to bring this company and American Home Shield to light. It took them more than 6 hours to replace a water heater, yet told me I only had 5 minutes if I wanted to put in a new water heater stand.

Called American Home shield on Friday afternoon.  They were scheduled to come out between 12:00 and 2:00 pm on Monday. Showed up at 1:45 and were done with the repair (replaced the copper expansion joint) by 2:30 pm.  I could have done replacement myself but in an old house plumbing repairs have the potential to lead to a larger job then originally thought. The two gentlemen that came out were very nice and I was grateful it was a simple repair. The total cost was the normal AHS call out charge.

Our home warranty company sent S.G.W. Plumbing to repair our non-working garbage disposal. I called the home warranty company on 9/11/13, S.W.G. called the same day to schedule the repair for 9/12/13. The S.W.G. techs arrived as scheduled, promptly fixed the disposal and offered advice to keep the disposal in good working condition.

Took a little time to get appt but then the person was knowlwdgeable
