SpaceManager Closets

I am pleased with Spaceman's service. The entire process was straightforward from the initial visit to measure my space and provide recommendations for my storage needs through planning and having the overhead storage racks installed. The work was done for a fair price and on time. The racks look good in my garage and are meeting my storage needs. In a house with limited attic space, using the high celings in the garage was a great option for me.

Researched and consulted with 4 closet organization companies before deciding on SpaceMan to improve the storage efficiency of a 1950's reach-in closet. The Sales Consultant, Bill Wallace, was very knowledgeable and professional, and truly listened to what I had envisioned and how I wanted to use the space. He invited me to visit the SpaceMan showroom, which was very helpful to actually see the product quality, finished products and design options, including hardware selections. We were working around the schedules of my handyman to tear out existing shelves, shoe rack and closet rods, repair and repaint walls, and install new baseboard, and a floor pro to refinish the wood floor. Michelle Levine, Office Manager, was very understanding of the scheduling and stayed in continual contact with me to meet my deadline. Installer, Matthew, arrived timely, was very polite, professional and efficient, and did a great job of cleaning up following his installation. Bill came to my home on January 27th to measure and discuss the design; Matthew had installation complete on February 11th. I will definitely use SpaceMan for future organization needs and highly recommend them.

I met with Reva Smith, designer, to draw up my ideas & get the ball rolling with the unit. I wanted a queen Murphy bed with storage above & shelving on each side. Reva measured my space, determined how large my shelves could be so I would have enough space on each side of the bed when it was down for my guests to walk around. The space is primarily a sewing/arts & crafts room so it had to be designed around a new sewing cabinet. Reva stayed in contact with me during the 5 week period & called with questions. Five weeks later, as promised, the Spaceman crew arrived & assembled the unit piece by piece & did a beautiful job. It is fine quality & has stained wood fronts on all of the exterior sides. I couldn't be more pleased. The entire process was painless & a job well done.

sThe sales rep was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable, creative and flexible. He measured both closets and took into consideration our preferences and the way we hang and store our clothes. He came back out a couple of days later with the proposed designs and quote. We made a few changes and set a date. I paid a 50% down payment. The next day, I made a couple of changes without any problems. They schedule a date 4 weeks out which was fine because I was having some remodeling done in the bathroom. The week before the date, the office confirmed the date and time. The tear out team was punctual and focused. They painted the closets and did and excellent job. The next day, the installation team was also on time and completed the job within a few hours. I am very pleased with the service and quality of the product. I would recommend Spaceman to others.

It went very well. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. It was a very neat job. The cabinets are exactly what I would want in my laundry room. The big deal was for $223. It was $120 in addition. I would recommend that others use them. I would recommend them for their service and quality. The price was good. I had priced some others with a different company and that one was a lot more. The quality is great.

Very straightforward and custom approach to meet your needs. Pricing is fair and installation extremely professional.

The service was fine. They came out within a week to give an estimate and then they did the work a few weeks later. The technicians were great.

I don't really have a strong opinion of this transaction. He was nice enough.We weren't floored, but we weren't upset either. It was kind of a so-so experience. They were friendly.

Design process was very professional. SpaceMan worked closely with me to design what I needed, and I was extremely pleased with the creative suggestions that helped make this closet fit my needs. Installation was quick and very professional, and it went exactly as I had been told it would. I hope to have them do more work for me in the future. Thanks to everyone at SpaceMan!

The overall process went well. The designer came to our home and worked with my husband to plan out the design. We had other quotes but went with Spaceman because the design the designer came up with matched our needs the best. She sent over the design via email and we went back and forth together to fine tune it. There were some delays with communicating on the designer side, but we managed to get a final design confirmed and a contract signed. The tear out guy was punctual and professional. He took care of removing all the old material, patching and painting the walls. I had gotten a gallon of paint so he did the entire closet rather than just the patches, yah! The install guy was also punctual and professional. He did the work efficiently without disrupting my while I was working from home. The closet is fabulous and everyone loves the photos. The garage slatwall didn't cover as much of the wall as we thought it would, but I guess we mis-read the design and went by the relative position of the garage elements rather than the written square footage. I would recommend them for a custom closet for sure!

They did an excellent job and were very professional and on-time. They also provided extra work after we realized that we need to tweak a few areas that we did not anticipate in the original review.

We contacted Spaceman about redoing the master bedroom closet in our new home and adding more efficient storage to our garage (cabinets and slat wall). I learned about them by way of Angies list. To my surprise, Michael came out to quote the job the same day I called which blew me away. Our master bedroom closet was the standard builder configuration: basically, a series of shelves around the perimeter with clothes hanging rods beneath each shelf. So much wasted space ? and not nearly enough room to store all my wife?s things let alone mine. We were very impressed with the CAD layout Michael developed which illustrated very clearly how to improve the utilization of our space. In summary, the makeover would add multiple multilevel clothes racks, specialized shoe storage racks, (2) built in dressers and a series of custom shelves. Very little of the available space appeared to be unused. After another meeting with Michael, we signed the agreement, provided a small deposit and waited patiently while our closet components were being fabricated. The install itself took two days. During the first day, the crew removed the old closet components, patched and plastered ? then painted the entire closet using paint we supplied. Their work was perfect. The second day was the install itself. The technician we had was named Marvin and he explained everything he was going to do along the way. He was quite the perfectionist noting that one cabinet door was defective and would be replaced. I?m not sure I would have even noticed the defect. Then it was on to the garage. A series of three, extra-wide cabinets were installed along with slat wall on two sides. Again, the quality of work was excellent. We were so impressed with the Spaceman commitment to the customer we did not bother to get another quote. Perhaps, we left some money on the table by doing so. But, I believe you get what you pay for. In our opinion, we received excellent value for the money spent with Spaceman. I felt like everyone on their staff cared about our business. We even got personal correspondence from the president of the company. Now that is being customer focused. The one and only thing I found strange was their version of a cash discount (which I typically ask for). A discount was given for paying in cash ? but their definition of ?cash? was just that: real cash money. No checks which was a bit awkward but doable given the incentive. On the positive side, Michael made me aware of a Groupon promotion which also saved me another couple of hundred dollars.

The consultation was fine. They provided a design, and quoted us a price of ~$5,500 for our closet system - nothing fancy, mind you. That seemed a little high to me, but I had nothing to compare to, so I thought OK. Because of construction running longer than anticipated, both of my Angie's List Deal 'Coupons' had expired before I had a chance to get the closet system ordered. I had purchased two deal; one I paid $379 for, and the other I paid $199. Both had expired, but were still worth the value I paid for them. The reason we didn't use Spaceman is because the design consultant told us we could not apply the value of both 'coupons' to the cost of the system. What, really? I paid ~ $600, and you're only letting me use $379 of it? For the promotional value, I understand this rule. Restricting combining the non-promotional values, however, doesn't seem right to me. A friend of mine is a custom home builder, and offered to build a custom system for me. At the end of the day, we have a BEAUTIFUL custom system, exactly the style and color we want. It has birch plywood and solid wood drawers; unlike particle-board you get from a Spaceman kit. My final cost? $2000. I'm very happy with my decision to get a custom system. We got exactly what we wanted for less money. Update 4/21/2014 David Linda, the President of Spaceman, emailed me the very next business day after posting the above review. He took the time to familiarize himself with the details of our particular quote, etc. before writing. Keep in mind, this design was 1.5 or 2 years old at this point. I was impressed by his customer service, and thorough research before the contact. He offered to refund partial cost (his portion) of the coupons. At this point, I don't expect a refund, but the offer, and quick contact speak volumes to Spaceman's ethics and customer service.

Original date of installation was 08/18/2006. In Aug of 2013 I noticed the shelving starting to sag. I called David Linda at SpaceMan and mailed him some pictures of my shelving unit. He replied very promptly and courteously. NOW REMEMBER THIS IS 7 YEARS LATER FROM THE ORIGINAL INSTALL. We emailed and talked on phone and without hesitation SpaceMan decided to take the original out completely and re-install a complete new unit the same size and quality except a little more sturdier than the first unit with front leg braces, ALL REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT AT NO COST, PARTS OR LABOR, TO ME. It came with a lifetime warranty but most places will try not to honor it. I was very pleased with their profesionalism and honesty in business practice, a rarity these days. My hats off to you guys. The 2 guys who did the job were very professional, took their time with measurements and install, and finished in a timely manner. They cleaned up all debris and hauled off the old stuff. ONCE AGAIN, I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Everything has been very professional and he showed up on time. The scheduling and responsiveness was prompt. However, I was looking for cabinet making, but he told me that they don't do that sort of project, they primarily do closet and storage organization. We had him take a look at our closets and he gave us an estimate, but we didn't move forward with it.

It turned out beautiful. It took a while for us to get in communication. They showed me a bunch of different options and they gave me the proposal. It was wonderful and they were very good. I would recommend them to others. They got the job done in a week and were very fast. The cleanup was very good. They explained everything and what was included and what was not included. I trusted them.

Did what they said they would do. Did it right the first time. Cleaned up the mess after completion.

The job went smoothly. The guy came out and took measurements. They came recommended by a family member.

We were very happy with both the design and the installation of our new master closet. They listened very carefully to all our thoughts and ideas for the closet, and came back with a design that exactly fitted our needs. The design incorporated several features that maximized the storage space available despite the fact we are both short - including pull down bars for storage racks. The installation team were very punctual, clean and did excellent work. The closet ended up better than we imagined. Thank you Spaceman!!

Excellent communications and response. Very adaptive in adjusting design. Yes, little pricy but well worth it.

The one I did and was going to do highly salute the company. What I did, I was very happy with it. I remember Spaceman and the one that I got done, actually, the $199 for $500. You can give them all A’s. It is exactly what I needed and was right on target. I have them do my laundry room actually. I guess should say a closet. I was really happy with it.

I bought the great deal to add storage space to my utility room and then after Reva did the design I decided to have her design and install custom closets for my 2 guest bedrooms. I of course changed my design a few times and Reva was so nice and professional regarding the entire process. Her designs were wonderful. She did not try to oversell or push me into anything I didn't want and I felt very comfortable with her. It was a great experience and a quality product from design to installation and would recommend Spaceman for any storage issues you are looking to resolve.

I"ve had Spaceman customize two closets and was so pleased I had them do my pantry. Excellent job. This time I used their guy to do the tear out/paint of the existing shelves and he did a wonderful job. Very, very professional, on time, cleaned up completely and was super nice. The person who came 2 days later to install the new pantry shelving was equal to the first. My pantry is now beautiful, organized and exactly what I requested. I highly recommend Spaceman!
