The original estimate was incorrect,there were three more squares than in the original bid. They remeasured the roof before beginning and Gary reduced the cost of the additional shingles. Communication could be better but once the crew got started they were very fast and kept the worksite fairly clean. The roof was completely replaced with ridge vents and all new high quality vents. Gary was very responsive with a few adjustments when the crew left and would not take a check until I was completely satisfied. I am very picky and overall I would highly recommend Southwestern Roofing.

Once communication was ironed out, things went well. Communication was relatively poor, however, given that they did not call until at the house and could not reach a power source. This caused them to have to return twice. Other than that, things went smoothly. One of the workers used his cell phone camera to show me the work they had done, which I thought was an excellent idea.

Excellent Job. Talk to Gary. He coordinated the project. I scheduled a month in advance. After the storm the bids came in at $18,000 to $22,000. To high. 9 months later, I got 5 bids for this project which ranged from $11,500 to $16,000.

We are happy because our roof held during the hurricane.

Southwestern Roofing came out to give me an estimate, and they were very prompt. They did an excellent job! They were extremely fast. They were slightly expensive.

Arrived when i was at work. My son reviewed the work before they left.

I called them twice for a quote and they didn't return the call. I called them a third time and I got to speak with the owner. He said that he would come on a certain day and a certain time but he neither showed up nor called. I called him again, and I guess he vaguely remembered me, but he never showed up after that either. He showed up about a week and a half later out of the blue. I didn't get to use them but my overall impression of them is as low as it can get.

They were slow and had time management problem. The initial work had some problems, but they came back and fixed it.

I found Southwestern Roofing through Angie's List. They were very responsive, fair, and professional. They managed to complete the job without leaving a single nail in my yard! They were awesome!

I contacted SW Roofing based on a family recommendation and review of Angie's list. As part of the proposal, SW Roofing provided at least 50 RECENT letters of thanks and recommendations from former customers who were very pleased with their service. I was also very pleased with my results and extreme ease of working with the company. The roof was hand nailed, which takes longer, but worth the extra effort. I would recommend SW Roofing to anyone looking for a outstanding quality job for a reasonable price. I am very pleased with my results!!

If you are looking for a good price and great work these are the guys! I got quotes from about 10 different companies, including most of Angie's list top performers (Roof toppers, M&M Roofing, Campos Roofing. They all wanted between 9500 and 10800 for the job with varying quality of meterials. The lowest quotes I got from unlicensed or very newly formed roofing companies were around 7000. Southwestern roofing offered a great prices from the start, 7 Year warranty, and a strong reputation and history of positive reviews. Esteban came on time to give me the quite, he was very nice, explained everything and gave me a great price form the start!!!. I had them put Shingle Mate instead of felt and a protective cover, which will prevent water from infiltrating even if a shingle blows off. This increased th eprice by a couple hundred bucks but its well worth it! The best companies (like M&M roofing) offer this as standard. Most others use just felt. SOuthwestern also used GAF/ELK Starter Strip (Instead of 3 tab shingles cut up) which holds your shingles better against wind and blown in rain. Only con i would say is that I had to point out some of the minor imperfections, rather than having them proactively correct them. Those were mostly the metal flashing not beeing completely straight in a couple of places due to un-even base boards. They fixed it on the spot. Just keep an eye on the work as it progresses for minor things and point them out. Otherwise, they did an excellent job and finished in a day and a half. Cleaned up after themselves. It was so frustrating for me to find a good contractor without overpaying...so i hope this review will help you. When you need roof replacement, call a couple of the other guys just to get an idea of the high prices, then call Southwestern and close the deal!!

Repeated phone calls went unanswered. If you are too busy please have the courtesy to return the call and say you are overwhelmed.

Their work was OK, but they were very unresponsive and there was no communication. They showed up unexpected and I wouldn't use them again.

They came out a gave us an estimate. They were able to start the work the next week, but do to the holidays and travel we waited about a month. They completed the work in a day and a half. They cleaned up, did touch up paint and everything looks great. We had one problem with their placement of the attic fans, but they came out and fixed it, no problem.

Excellent. Scheduled and completed the work within the same week that request was made. Excellent clean-up. Used experienced crews for each phase of the job (removal, carpentry, flashing and roof replacement). Work completed in one day. Clean-up virtually erased the fact that the work had created large amounts of debris including nails, etc.

We had a number of companies give us repair estimates on the $30,000 in damages we sustained during Hurricane Ike. Southwestern stood apart from the rest because they were (1) local, (2) reasonably priced, (3) use crews who have been with the company for many years, their foremen were great, (4) incredibly responsive, and (5) RELIABLE. They worked quickly, cleanly, efficiently and professionally. Our overall job supervisor, Gene Russo, was so helpful, friendly, responsive and genuinely a pleasure with which to work. I HIGHLY recommend using Southwestern Roofing for all of your exterior household needs.

Terrific. The job took about a week. The workers did a great job hauling the plywood decking & materials to the 2nd story. Before I hired them, I called a number of their references, both current and some that were about a year old, and got good references. I also got some names of people who had used them, but who they did not give me as references, and they gave good references too. The workers were very careful, but did drop a lot of nails. I used their nail magnet to do some extra sweeping of the yard and got a lot of nails out of the yard. They might have picked them up at the conclusion of the job, but I wanted to do it myself to get peace of mind so I did it when they were almost done. They also covered the interior of my attic with plastic to keep the removal of the old wood shingles from getting everything terribly dirty (I will never ever have a house with wood shingles again). They entered through a hole they opened up in the roof, and at the conclusion of the job, they went back in through a hole in the roof they left open just for this purpose and rolled up all the plastic and debris and hauled it out through that opening so they wouldn't have to carry it down the attic ladder and through the house -- a pretty good idea to avoid a real mess. Then they closed up the roof and finished the job. One tip I would give any future customer is to check the holes in the decking they cut for the furnace and hot water vent pipes to assure there's at least an inch or so of space between the vent pipe and the plywood decking so there's no chance of a fire in the future. One of the references told me to check this and it paid off. On my job, they didn't initially leave enough room around the furnace vent so I asked them to enlarge the hole and they did so. They really did try to please me in everything they did, and they did a good job of cleaning up the job site regularly. I believe I got an excellent roofing job, since it was finished 1 week before Hurricane Ike hit Houston, and I didn't lose a shingle during the hurricane. Some of my neighbors did lose shingles on their roofs though, so I know mine was put on well. Luciano was the sales person and he's got a crew that he said works specifically with him. Can't remember the lead guy's name, but they did a great job.

The work was fine. However, getting them there was a chore. The salesman never contacted me; I had to contact him 3 times before I finally got an appointment for an estimate. Then the man who was doing the estimate "forgot" to come. After waiting 2 hours for the man to come, I called the salesman twice and left 2 messages and my phone call was never returned. I had to call the main office line to get somebody to talk to-the salesman never called me; he had the estimator call me and reschedule. After 2 days, the salesman still had not called me with the actual estimate, so I had to call him. He gave me an estimate and said he thought somebody could come out on Saturday ,but he would call me back. On Friday afternoon at 5 I had still not heard from him, so I called. He said he had been busy and that he would call me back. He called me back the next morning to say the roofers would be there in an hour. The roofers did a fine job as far as I can tell, but I still have not received any paperwork or billing information from them. It was very frustrating having to keep calling back and being told that they were "busy."

It took a few calls to get someone to call us back, but that was because of the Hurricane Ike overload. I can't be sure, but I'd bet that they're much better when they are not so busy.

They did a quick job and it was a good job. I was very satisfied with the work that they did. I did not have to wait long at all for them to come to do the work for me. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. The only thing I didn't like was that they left a sign in my yard too long and I had to dispose of it myself.

They did neat work and they did everything that they said they were going to. They did the work in the same day that they came out.

The service was good, did a good job and very satisfied when they left. They under estimated on a few things and over estimated on others but the job went very good.

Very well, they actually took a little hit on the estimate, when they climbed the roof they thought there was only 2 layers of asphalt shingles, only on demo did they realize there was a 3rd layer in there, but they didn't charge any extra for that. Work was done efficiently and was high quality, did just fine in the recent hurricane.

Everything was done in a timely manner and looks great. ll workers assigned to job were on time and completed work as specified in a timely manner. Sales representative checked on job to make sure things were going well.

He did a good job. We got a bid from one other contractor on Angie's List, but he was higher than Southwestern. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They cleaned up after themselves when they were done.
