The owner was considerate enough to defer payment on part of the job, although overall, I feel the price was higher than I planned on paying. The crew did a good job but I did have to ask them as they were leaving to cut another pecan tree limb that was too close to the garage apartment.

Trees in yard were evaluated for possible removal-older, diseased. Service was professional, lots of communication with homeowner and work crew. Very organized and neat in all procedures. Safety measures taken for workers climbing trees. Mr. Lorenzo works on a very tight schedule, but is very thorough and committed to making his customer happy. I was extremely pleased and will use this company again.

Very thorough and cleaned up after themselves.  Did no damage to surrounding flower beds.  Modified cuts after I inspected their work at no extra charge.  Took less than an hour to complete.

I had already received a quote from another service (freind of my neighbor) but they weren't able to grind the stumps' so I decided to check Angie's list. RF Tree Service had great reviews so I decided to call the and one more service. Didn,t get a call back from the other service. When I called the phone was answered promptly by Dora which was nice because she also works on job sites so the phone is not always easy to hear. Because she was on a job, though, she was able to talk to the owner Lorenzo and they were'able to come do an estimate that day. I met with Lorenzo and Dora that evening and the were able to beat the original quote I got and it included grinding the stumps! Plus, after he quoted the job, Lorenzo offered to remove some bushes and a pile of branches that had collected over a couple of years. The crew arrived on the day they said they would and dida fantastic job. Did I mention that the Ash trees were HUGE and falling branches would have damaged my fence or my pool pump an heater? And the Hackberry was 3 feet from the house. The crew was careful and worked two afternoons to complete the job. Each day they cleaned up. The stump grinder broke 3/4 of the way through grinding and the grinder is in the shop as I write this. Lorenzo has kept me up to date on the situation and when they will be able to come back to finish up. I will definitely use RF to do some trimming next Winter and for any other tree needs. Not a huge company, but trustworthy, honest pricing and quality work has earned my business.

I called R & F after finding them on Angies list.  Lorenzo's assistant set up an appointment and he drove out to make an estimate.  We agreed on a price and I requested the 10% Angie's list discount and he honored it.  We set an appointment and he showed up himself with two tree crews and a helper.  They worked all day on the large oaks and cleaned up all the branches.  I had them stack the small stuff on a burn pile and cut the remaining oak into firewood size pieces and stacked them near by.  The stump grinder was not working so we made an appointment on a later date.  He was busy and I understood that.  It rained the next week, so we agreed to wait until it dried up to grind the stumps since two of them were near a creek bed.  Later the next week I called Lorenzo and we agreed on a date and he showed up early and started to work on the stumps while two tree trimmers and three helpers finished the tree trimming. Lorenzo worked on that large oak stump for hours knowing that I wanted to plant a new tree in its place.  He took out the trunk and all the large roots to give a small tree room to grow.  They finished the smaller stumps and tree trimming by noon.l bought them lunch and they appreciated the jester and thanked me politely.
To sum this up, I can understand why people were upset at the $200 for $99 coupon deal.  It was suppose to be a discount, not a complete payment for any tree service needed.  Poor marketing.  The 10% deal worked for me.  I contacted them the day before any appointment and I would suggest you do the same before taking off from work.  Stuff happens!  Lorenzo drove to Wharton County three times and took out two other stumps at no charge while the tree trimmers finished.  The only complaint I have is they didn't spray pruning paint on all the larger branch cuts.  After seeing these guys up in a 50' tree, I really couldn't complain too much.  Their cuts were clean.

He is a very nice man and is very professional.  Now that the work is done, I feel that my tree looks a little weird.  I hate to be too critical, but he left a bunch of branches and it is sort of ugly.  He was very pleasant in explaining that the remaining branches are for balance, but it just looks weird to me.

Found customer service to be terrible. I scheduled service for the 23rd of March and I was told that I'd receive a call that week to confirm. When I did not receive any call, I called on the day of service to see what was going on. It took them several minutes to locate my appointment and I was asked if I had an Angies list coupon. When I said no, I was told that she'd need to confirm with "Lorenzo" when they were going to be in the area and I'd get a call back. After 2 weeks, I'm still waiting...

Great from start to finish

I purchased a $99 service voucher for $200 worth of tree work via angies list and the only time they showed up was to get me a quote which was for $500. I then tried on countless occasions to get them to do he work and they continue to not show up, no communications, they just don't show.I have since had additional quotes which ave been around $300 meaning my $99 voucher is actually null and void as they have inflated the price to compensate. I am currently looking for a refund of my $99.

They were affordable and they did a good job.  They were a couple of days behind getting out here to do the estimate and then they got delayed by rain on coming out to do the work.  It was fine with me because I didn’t have to take off from work or anything.  I’m a stay at home mom.  They were affordable and they did good work.  Those were the two key selling points for me.  I thought their pricing was very affordable.  They did really good work.  They were very professional.  I will use them again in the future if I need to.

It went well. They were timely and did a good job.  Where we thought we needed more done, they came right back out and fixed it. There was an issue with how deep they ground the tree, but they came out an explained the issue (it had grown into an old fence under the ground, so they were hitting metal.).  I would use them again.

I gave them a call to set up an appointment. They said they would come in a few days at a specific time and they never came. I waited three weeks and they never contacted me.

Lorenzo Romero [email protected] replied 4 days after my initial contact via email on the rftreesservice web site telling me that the comapny was very busy and that he would contact me with an appointment.  I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM.  And I'm paying Angie's list to find a good contractor?????????????????

The crew arrived on time and completed the job professionally.

We have an 80' tree. He assured me the tree was healthy, but needed to be thinned to lighten the load on the branches. He discussed with his men, and they went to work. Branches were continually removed, and they helped with many smaller trees. they were nice, informative and experienced.

Estimate done in a timely manner and pricing on par with other services. As agreed upon tree was removed a few days later. Work was done on time, area cleaned up of all debris, and best of all my $200 coupon from Angie's list was honored. I will most certainly call Lorenzo in the future.

They had a good price. They took care of the work almost immediately. The overall experience was excellent. I would use this company again.

There was a special running for their service a few weeks ago.  They actually showed up on a Saturday without calling.  It kind of surprised me because they said they would call before they came but they just showed up.  I bought the coupon which was $99 for $200, and in total I had paid $450 which was more than I had expected to pay.  I haven’t lived here long and I’m a little concern that they trimmed the trees a little late in the season because they were already blooming.  I don’t know if that’s going to damage them or not.  They did a good job with trimming and they did exactly what I’d asked for and everything like that.  They cleaned everything up really nicely.  I’m just a little concerned that it was a little late but they didn’t like it.  They didn’t want to tell me that because they didn’t want to lose the business of doing them.  I’m just a little concerned and I’ll have to wait and see how these trees arrive.  I hope it wasn’t too late because there are three huge trees in my front yard.  They said they would call before they came but they just showed up.  I felt like they were late because they didn’t call me.  I will use them again in the future if my trees live.

Twice we had appointments set for the company to come to my home, and they did not show up for either one.  The first appointment I had to take off of work early.  They called a half hour after the appointed time and made excuses about not being able to find my home on GPS; however, they were on the other side of town.  We reset the appointment for that Saturday, which I had concerns about because it was supposed to rain.  They assured me they could come for the appointment even in the rain.  I woke up early for the appointment, and the company did not show up again.  I had to call them this time, and they said it was raining.  Then when I mentioned they said they would come out in the rain they asked who I was and realized they did not even have me set in their appointment book.  Both appointments were for estimates.  My experience was very disappointing.  I had another company come out, and they showed up when scheduled, and in the rain.

Company did not follow up as promised.  After I made multiple calls to them they finally came out for an estimate. The estimate was 3X what I had already received from another vendor.

Provided an estimate and explained how the Angie's List deals worked. Showed up on time to complete the job, but it started raining as soon as they had gotten set up so they had to reschedule.  Communication after the initial appointment which was rained out could have been better; I had to call to reschedule and available times were not very flexible but they did an excellent job trimming and cleaned up very well.  I will use this company again.

Every step was professional.  Met on time to give quote.  Crew showed up on day expected.  Finished job quickly.   Thoroughly clean up my yard and neighbor's yard.  Except for tree missing and a small mound of mulch, I would not have known they were in my yard.
