I would definitely recommend Richard's company to others. He went above and beyond what was required to have the job be top notch.
- The work was completed, as planned, and I am very happy with the outcome. I had some plastic "magnetite" inserts in the windows which had been installed by the previous owner. These inserts required extra time and effort to remove. Richard came up with a fix for a cosmetic problem the inserts had created.
"The window and door cost for the job was plus materials was 17,943 that was not including Labor. total cost for job with labor was 22,948. I showed the client the actual cost of the windows and door and she was fine with it at the time so I do not see why price is a factor now. The price from other companies using the same products and materials was twice that. The brick mortar at first was darker and I had my brick mason go back and correct the problem. The house is almost 20 years old so the mortar is not going to be an exact match no matter who comes out and does it. The brick mason tried to match the mortar as best as they could. The electrician did not do any major work on the electrical he just moved two outlets a foot in both directions all the electrical was working fine when the electrician left the job. The problem she stated she was having was with the water softener and pull pump which are set on different breakers which we did not touch. I told her that she should call her water softener people to check the issue. We cleaned daily and vacuumed daily when we working on the home. We were cutting into sheetrock and that will cause dust and we did our best to clean up after ourselves. There was never a time or written agreement were it was stated that a cleaning crew would come out. I replaced rotten wood for her with Hardie plank and she agreed to pay for material and labor but after it was done she did not want to pay for the labor. I decided to let it go anyway so that the job would be complete. I also painted the replacement wood which was not part of our work agreement. It took two days to replace the trim because the first trim board she did not approve- which she watched me install and did not say anything until the next day when it was complete. She decided she wanted to me install it differently. Again I did not charge her extra for labor. The job did take longer than anticipated due to changes and communicating with subcontractors but it was not two weeks over it was 4 days some of that was due to change in work made by the homeowner. I was there everyday to over see the work. The only thing not complete was the sheet rock which she had a company coming to do that after we were finished. I feel that we have done all we could for her and our job was completed. I have been available for phone call anytime she has needed anything. The window installers which she mentioned are my installers so I am not sure how we can do an excellent window install but due to a mortar issue which has been corrected we are not reliable? I recall her telling me that she had some issues which sound very similar to this with her builder and she had them do double the work and was not satisfied with their work either. I stand behind my work and I am always available for reasonable requests but just like everyone else in business we will do the best we can to please our clients and that is all we can do. She is one of these people that will never be satisfied. By the way, we were referred to this homeowner by another one of our clients who had us replace windows on two of his houses."
"How were we making underhanded deals ,if we never made a deal? Also to purchase that you would have to go through living social not through the company direct. We just informed the client that we were to busy to take on any more work and we would not be able to get to her."
I found RB Windows & Siding through one of those Groupon-type deals. I called Richard to discuss my situation prior to buying the Groupon. (The deal was only for one level of gutters). He quoted me a very fair price for the additional work.
We did have some trouble with our appointment; they had to reschedule us a couple of times due to weather conditions, but it was important to me to get a weekend appointment, it eventually worked out. They were really good about keeping me informed both when they had to cancel and when they were on their way to my home.
I was satisfied with the work and would definitely use them again.
They did it when we had the hurricane. They responded quickly and just did a good job. They were very professional and on time. They also cleaned up after themselves. My insurance paid for most of it. I had a great experience with them. I don?t have any problems or complaints. There has been no leaking or anything. Everything is good. I have used other companies in the past where the roof has leaked even after the work was completed.
