Subsequent to speaking with Gary I found find out how little time the repair took (because I wasn't present) and how much I had agreed to pay for it and I feel like we were taken advantage of because we had a leak that had to be repaired. We had a broken water pipe from the meter at the curb that had a significant leak. We initially had hired another plumber who dug the hole around the broken pipe area and tried repairing it in the dark at night but was unsuccessful and wasn't able to come back the next day to try again. So I called Gary the next morning and he sent someone out the same day to look and give us an estimate.
The hole had already been dug so the plumber was able to essentially look in to see what needed to be fixed. I wasn't present when they gave the estimate but I did approve their estimated costs of $1300 so I take full responsibility for agreeing to the price. Since the estimate was so much more than I had expected (there was an Anglie's List review for this provider just a few days earlier with a water line break that was only $500), I simply believed that it was a more difficult and time consuming job than I had initially imagined and this was why the initial plumber probably wasn't successful. After I approved to the $1300 fee, Gary sent his plumber out the next day and the gentleman arrived on time. However, the repair took him less than 1 hour. He let the glue dry and came back an hour later to cover up the hole. I am at fault for accepting the $1300 proposal and not questioning the high figure, but it just doesn't feel right knowing how little time the actual repair took to do.
I might use Plumbco again on a time and materials basis because of the professionalism of Gary, the owner, but would never use them again on a project basis without having a very good understanding of the time and effort required.

While they were here, they repaired the main bathroom toilet that had been leaking around the base. Its flange was broken. They replaced the flange and reset the toilet.
This company and its owner is fantastic. I will call this company back again. I feel like I have a plumber who I can count on now.

The technician came out, installed my valve and also quoted me on a shower pan. Overall, the work was quick, done well, and the price was right. The technician was also very friendly and answered all my questions.
I would definitely use Plumbco again and recommend them.
My negative points below are to explain why they did not receive As across the board:
My first minor complaint is that the website says "No Cost Estimates" and Angie's list says "Free Estimates" however when I called to schedule Plumbco, I was told there is a service charge (I think $45) that is waived if I choose to have the work done. This hardly seems free or no cost; however, I knew the work needed to be done and the price was right so I was OK with it.
My second minor complaint was that I was scheduled for "first thing in the morning" with an 8 am timeslot, but they did not even call to tell me they were on the way until 8:30. I worked from home that day so this wasn't a problem, but if I had a schedule to keep I would have been more upset.
"It was a pleasure to work for you. We schedule our first appointment of the day between 8:30 and 9:00. We are sorry if we didn't inform you of that and will be sure to do so in the future. Since the Memorial Day flood we were finding that we were sending our licensed plumbers out on estimates all day. We just couldn't afford to continue doing that despite wanting to help our neighbors. So, yes, we began charging a $49 diagnostic fee which is waived if we do the work for you. We still give a free phone estimate though. Thank you for choosing Plumbco! We appreciate your business very much!"
