I have used them in the past for many years for my rental and own properties.  What I like about them is they take their time doing the bid such that they include everything in the bid.  They help us do all the things we need to do with regards to providing information on permits.  They pull all the permits pool to pool because I usually have all this information sent to my account.  We need to have all the legal copies double and triples, and dealings with the community association.  They deal with the entire pile of paperwork that they need to do.  They are nice enough to do all that for us.  They are a little bit expensive, and the reason they are expensive is because they do all of that and they don't charge a small fee to do additional things.  The price is very competitive.  Their quality of work is good.  Their responsiveness is very good.  They respond in about 24-48 hours.  They always come roughly around 8-8.30 in the morning.  They usually work until about 4'o clock in the afternoon.  They come in smart vehicles and we know who they are because they always carry their ID's.  If they are on our properties, we know who they are and what they are doing.  They carry bonding and hazard insurance.

I called the company that replaced all our windows about 18 months ago.   He recommended Brinkmann.    Their salesman showed up on time and left a bid.  Brinkmann won the bid.  The workers did a great job, and they finished in one day.  They removed a roof vent fan and replaced the plywood.  They had to work around our two solar hot water panels.  My husband disconnected them, and the workers carefully propped them up to get at the roof area below the panels.  They sealed the areas around the brackets that held the panels to the roof.  Great job!   Their inspector advised that they needed to put more nails in the area where the house roof met the porch roof -- they did that.  Their clean up was a group event and done very well..  They got all the nails, and even used a yard blower to get the tiny debris out of the flower beds and off the concrete areas.   The only mistake they made was the metal roof edge.  The salesman called out 1.5 inch when he should have called out 2.0 inch.   As a result, the workers had to paint the small area of different color on the roof edge that the metal did not cover.  We had the paint, but  Brinkmann covered that extra labor expense.  Over all they get an "A".

Roof was installed in 2 days (it is a large roof) with some cleanup on the third day.  Everything went very smoothly and they did exactly what they said they would do. Workers worked very hard in 95+ degree heat and were well organized and professional. I would definately use them again and recommend them to friends.

I live in the Clear Lake area and decided to call my insurance agent to ask about any information she had on the roofing companies around our area. I had already looked into a few possibilities but was curious to hear what she had to say.  She mentioned Brinkmann because many of the roofs she represented were replaced by them after "Ike", and she said that she had heard no complaints. She mentioned another company also, and I got bids from both of them The last week of April, Bill Kinnison, a Senior Sales Executive of Brinkmann Roofing Co. came to the house for an estimate.. He arrived promptly, handed me a packet of information about Brinkmann, and proceeded to spend 30-40 minutes up on my roof measuring and assessing what needed to be done.  While he was on the roof, I had time to leisurely go through the packet and was able to get some of my questions answered beforehand.  I had a list of questions I had typed up and when he came into the house he very calmly  and clearly answered every one of them.  He had examples of the shingles and the colors which we looked over. We went outside together and he answered more of my questions.  At my request, he also went up into the attic to look at the frame. I was a little nervous because my house was built in 1966 and I wanted to make sure that the frame still looked solid. He assured me that it did. I was not having problems with my current roof but since it was 20 years old and beginning to look shabby, I felt it was time to get it replaced before problems occurred. Bill told me he had been with Brinkmann for the last 18 years and that some of the crew he brought with him when he came was still working with Brinkmann. He also told me he would work to get those guys to build me my new roof.  I called him the day after getting a second bid and told him I accepted his offer.  I called Bill with more questions over the next few days and he always answered them. The following Tuesday, the crew arrived promptly. The supplies had been dropped off the night before, and as soon as the crew arrived, they started in. There were people cleaning up the whole time. I stayed home most of the day and came out and looked at what was happening and took pictures. I spoke to Juan, the leader of the crew, and he answered any questions I had. The crew worked quickly and efficiently. I was glad I had gone to the store in time to get cokes for everyone and had them iced up in time for their lunch break. (it was blessedly quiet in the house during that time, Ha!)  They continued on after lunch. Bill came by and checked in on everyone that afternoon. The crew was able to finish the same day. I had to leave before it was finished, but felt no concern that it would be cleaned up with no problems.  My husband beat me home and told me it looked great. I got home after dark and couldn't wait to see it the next morning. It was beautiful.  The supervisor, Victor, came over the next day and looked again at the roof with me and answered any questions I had. They had put up their sign in my yard and he started to take it down only a day later. I told him to please leave it. I was proud of how good it looked and wanted people to know which company had done this. I highly recommend Brinkmann for your roofing company. They did everything they said they would do efficiently and completely.

The workers did a good job, and they were able to finish in one day.  They also did a good job of cleaning up.  Todd Gentry was very polite and professional about working up the estimate, and inspecting the job after completion.

I liked them. They gave good customer service. We used them after hurricane. They did a good job then; so we called them back then after hurricane nights. In fact they were one of our insurance company preferred roofers that used in the area. They did quality work and they did customer service. The workers were all fine and pleasant. It would be hard to rate them on price because I don't know what other people charge. There had been our insurance companies preferred roofers and I know they worked with our insurance company when they adjuster came out. He didn't do complete roof inspection and he didn't get on the roof to measure everything. When Brinkmann guys came out, they actually got on roof and he measured the roof. He measured the pitch of the roof and all that based on that he contacted my insurance company. He told them that he was not provided enough allowance because this roof has a deeper pitch, average and it has up charge for that. He got me more money in my pocket because he went directly with my insurance company and I didn't mean to have had my compensation. They worked directly with the insurance company to get an extra allowance. I didn't have to deal with it and that all was technical stuff.

The roofing job was full of leaks. The repair job even resulted in new leaks. Even the workers themselves reluctantly admitted & recognized the poor workmanship. The workmanship resulted in extensive damage to our home which Brinkmann's response was to try to continually send out someone new to support their position instead of fixing the problems that their own workers and supervisors recognized. Eventually, they sent out the biggest crudest bully you will ever probably meet. Standing behind their warranties means nothing to them, collecting monely no matter how small means everything. By far the worst experience I've ever had with a company.
Response from Petersen Dean Roofing and Solar

"Often times during winter and early spring roof installations "fishmouths" and high/low spots in the shingles will be present. When coming off the manufacturing line shingles retain heat and settle on the pallet unevenly due to the manner in which they are stacked. Once cooled on the pallet they will retain the form in which they settled in until reheated. The temperatures in which allow the shingles to become pliable allowing then to reform are not normally experienced until May in our Texas climate. This was the case with this members roof. Although we communicated this with the member they were not satisfied with the documentation substantiating this from the manufcturer, National Roofing trade organizations, and our own preprinted literature we ultimately decided the only way to make the customer happy was to remove and replace the affected area. We are certainly dissappointed that after makeing the decision and incuring the expense of removing a brand new roof and replacing with another that the customer is still not happy. We strive to address all concerns, legitimate or not. Jason Brinkmann"

Estimator showed up at a different time and date than I was told, which is OK with me. However, the only contact I had with him was a phone call three days later in which I was given a total estimate, no breakdowns or explanations, over the phone. No attempt to email or fax anything, either. So, although I have heard many good things about Brinkman, and they come highly recommended by family and friends who have used them, I chose another contractor.

Company sent crews to work on decks and roof without adequate supervision. Had to have them back multiple times to repair their work. Had NO coordination with crew that put up metal roof and flat section of roof resulting in significant leak. After repairs, roof does not leak but it is readily apparent that their crews took no pride in the appearance of their work. Metal seams are deformed and crooked. For the last repair Brinkman sent out the same crew that made the mess. That crews supervisor commented that he did not understand why we cared what the roof looked like as long as it did not leak.

The Brinkman estimator met me at my home, at a time of my choosing, and assessed the problem quickly and accurately. He offered me a reasonable bid, and we signed a statement of agreement that was clear, specific and easy to understand. The estimator told me that the roofers would call within a few weeks, and complete the repairs in one day. Two weeks later, I received a call saying they would arrive the next day. After work that day I returned to the house to find two workmen nearly finished. The work was completed on time, and properly. The work site was cleaned and I found no damage to the house or garden.

Estimator came out and was very friendly. He was very helpful and even contacted my insurance to get me more money from the insurance claim. As soon as he turned the file over to scheduling things started falling apart. I was dropped from the schedule a couple of times and then sat through many weather delays. Finally, after getting another company to come out and give me a bid, I told Brinkmann if it wasnt done in a week they would lose my project. Brinkmann came out on Friday of that week to do the job. The workers were nice and did a good job, the supervisor wasnt there more than 15 minutes out of a 10 hour day and was not very helpful/informative. Replacing fascia was part of the bid, but they did not deliver fascia boards with the materials. In fact, the materials were not correct when delivered the day before, so I contacted them to inform them of the mixup. They brought the new materials the next day. Again, job was done, looks like they did everything correctly. On final note, they broke my hose reel and the supervisor said he would find out what happened. Havent heard anything back.

Overall it went great. The job was done in one day and done well. The clean up after was great. I found only two nails in the yard. When you consider the number of nails they used this has to be due to their desire to do a good job. I don't think I got the cheapest price but I believe I got true value for my money by using them. When considering the bottom line on a job of this nature you have to figure in other factors, such as clean up, respect for the property, trust, and the quality of the work. I know I got a great deal when you consider all of the above.

Very impressed! They clean up well after themselves. They worked with my insurance company and used quality products. Any issues with the insurance company they resolved themselves. They are well established in the area. The estimate was a little higher than the others but it was worth it for a quality and reliable roofer.

Worker completed work in one day. Flashing still leaking after work completed. Repairs done several more times and each time found incorrect and incomplete work by the first worker. Each time I called, the longer it took to get a call back. This last time I called to say leak is still a problem and no one is calling me back.

The original estimator did a nice quick inspection and the roof work between garage and house was performed as described in the bid. The repairman did not have enough shingles to fix the worn-down shingles from the tree area, and said he'd replace them the next day. When I returned from work the next day, a package of shingles was sitting on my front steps, and stayed there for a few days. Had some rain a few days later... The leak was twice as bad as before. And still had a package of shingles on my front porch. They sent out a pair of new guys who basically added some caulk between the gutter and the house (on the part where they replaced the roof). They called me a few weeks later asking when I planned on paying them. (I never did get an invoice). Paid via credit card on the phone and got a receipt in the mail. I don't know if the roof replacement part was necessary - I believe it may have only simply needed caulking. Holds up fine now, though.

Roof looked great, but 5 years later, when I went to sell my home, the buyer's inspector found that the ridge vents had never actually been opened to allow hot air out. It made sense. The air a/c always seemed to be coming on, and no wonder: heat was being held in the attic! I made two calls to Brinkman in an effort to get this repaired for the buyer. No one ever returned my calls. Couldn't believe it, and I was very disappointed that they would not repair something that, while 5 years old, was, nonetheless, their responsibility. I had relied on them to do the work properly. My bad.

I called three top "Angies" roofers. Brinkmann and M&M responded promptly. Southwest never returned my call. Brinkmann was 1/2 the price of M&M. Todd from Brinkmann quickly responded to my request for a picture to satisfy my COmmunity Association regulations. A date was agreed upon, Brinkmann called to confirm the day before, and the workers showed up, a little early. The work was done quickly and the workers were nice. I cant get up on the roof to see. but I know that Todd stands behind the work Brinkmann does.
