Excellent work ethic and professional and friendly from start to finish. Omar and his assistant (he introduced me but I've forgotten his name) arrived 5 minutes early for the appt. time. I had purchased a new toilet from Home Depot and had no way to transport it, so I had asked the Plumbing service if they could arrange to have Omar pick it up in the morning on his way to my house. the appt. time was set for 9am, so I presumed that's when Omar would arrive at Home Depot. Instead, he and his asst. were at my house at 8:55am, having picked up the new toilet at 8am, so they would make it to my house on time! The toilet replacement was not smoothe because the floor tiles around the toilet had been originally cut to fit around that toilet. The new toilet had a different configuration which required balancing, trial and error, and many attempts to seal the ring around the toilet. I am so glad I chose an experienced plumber who knew how to deal with this! They spent 2-1/2 hours installing and did not leave until they spent a good 20-30 minutes checking and watching the mechanisms, to make sure there would be no leaks.
I will definitely use Peter's Plumbing again, and will ask for Omar. I also got a discount for the Angie's List referral. These guys are GREAT!
It went well. Peter was courteous, professional and efficient. All the parts and tools that he needed were in his truck. He did his work quickly and well, and pointed out things to me such as the state of the existing mounting plate or flange or whatever you call it. I would not hesitate to recommend him or use him again.
the toilet within a couple of hours.
Friendly professional and reliable!
The pop-up drain the the master bath was sitting to low in the bowl and the water drained too slow because of that. Pete adjusted it so it sits higher and now the water drains well.
We have a secondary bath and water from the tub at times is a bit rusty. Nothing to be done now - galvanized pipe is the problem.
He also looked at the strainer in the kitchen sink. I have not been able to find the correct size. According to Peter, we need to replace the fitting at the bottom of the sink and it will come with its own strainer. We opted not to do this right now.
An inch of water suddenly appeared on the floor of my utility room. Thought it was the clothes washer but eliminated that by turning off the water to it and waiting a while. Still had the flood, so I called Peter's Plumbing (PP) and asked if he could come out and take a look. While waiting for him I called to get an estimate for re-piping the house since the house was fifty years old and had gray iron pipes. I figured that if the pipes sprung a leak in one place other leaks were sure to show up sooner than later. Might as well fix everything at once -- find the leak, which I thought was in a wall somewhere, and fix future leaks. The estimater came out the day before PP was due and estimated it would take around seven thousand to replace the pipes with a new system. I told him I would get back as soon as a plumber could patch the present leak.
When Omar from PP called to say he was near my house I asked him if he had a leak detector. He said just common sense. I had been up in the attic looking for the leak and the repipe estimater had looked as well and neither of us could find anything. I was hoping a leak detector, it there is such a thing, would have better luck. Anyway. . .
Omar and his helper arrived and I showed them the problem. They also went up in the attic (the house is on a slab) looking for the source of the flood. They couldn't find it either. I came very close to saying I would put up with the water until I could replace all of the pipes. Omar then noticed some water inside the water heater where it wasn't supposed to be and said that meant the water heater was leaking. To be honest, I thought he just wanted to sell me something he could do rather than joining all of us who couldn't find the problem. Since the heater was sixteen years old and his price seemed fair, and he said he could get right on it, I gave him the go ahead. I fully expected the leak to be there after the new heater was installed.
It has been three days and no water on the floors anywhere. Omar proved that experience and common sense, instead of jumping to wild conclusions, was the answer. With a new hot water heater, if a leak shows up now it might not be so outrageous to think the pipes might be the problem but I hope that doesn't happen anytime soon.
"Hi Mr. [removed member name] . I apologize if you felt like I was rude; however, I explained everything to the best of my ability, demonstrated how to cut off the main water line and tried my best to be helpful. I actually had to push many of my appointments back in order to get there so quickly and help you fix your problems. Despite the fact that you stated that you needed only two adapters, I actually placed three adapters (hot, cold, and T&P) and did not charge you extra for the instillation of the T&P. adaptor The initial time you called me, I explained that I would not be able to fix your water heater, and I'm sorry if that was inconvenient for you. Custumor care and satisfaction is our number one priority, and I'm sorry that you were not satisfied with our service. However, I do not believe that I was rude, and I am definitely not making quick cash. I fix the problems and I attempt to be generous with my prices so people can afford the service and still be able to receive expert service. Once again, I apologize if you felt that way, but please understand that those were not my intentions."
Called Peter up and he showed up at the correct time he had committed .Overall great guy to do business with .
As scheduled, the plumber called me on Wednesday to say that he was coming to the home to assess the job. I was at work but because the site of the leak was outside the house, the plumber did not need me onsite to get access to the water meter and we agreed that he would review the job and call me back with an update. True to his word, the plumber called me back (twice actually as the first time I was unavailable) and informed me that the leak was actually situated on my neighbours side of the water meter! He also said that he knocked on the neighbours door to inform them of the leak (which allegedly they knew about!) and left his card in case they needed his services.
In summary although I didn't need to have plumbing work done in the end, Peter's Plumbing demonstrated diligence with their follow-ups, trustworthiness by keeping their promises and professionalism with the way they went about their business. The next time I need a plumbing job done, I'll be calling Peter's Plumbing for sure.
It was refreshing to find a plumbing company who is honest and upfront. I would definitely call Peter's Plumbing again for any plumbing issues at the retail center as well as my home.
Very good work. Less than half the price of two other quotes I got.
He indicated originally he was really busy and wouldn't be able to stop by until Saturday. A few hours later, he texted me that he would be able to stop by my house that same afternoon because of a cancellation.
The repair was quick and whole thing took less than an hour because he had to go to home depot to get the part. He even helped tighten our loose sink faucet on his way out.
His price was the best of all the plumbers I called, he seems very knowledgeable of his trade and I was very satisfied with the results.
I originally found this company in a community newsletter, and then checked Angie's List for the ratings. My experience with Angie's List is that if I use a A rated company, that I will not be disappointed--and Peter's Plumbing continued that trend. I managed to make a complete mess of my kitchen drains and Peter's Plumbing promptly came to my rescue. Customer service provided was outstanding and I really can't say enough good things about this company.
