.Payless sent 2 workers who spent all day removing old attic insulation and debris (more debris than insulation). They were punctual, friendly and cleaned up everything before they left. We needed some electrical work done before new insulation blown in, so Payless came back on 11/21/14 to build knee wall in attic and blow in new insulation. The workers were punctual, friendly and cleaned up before they left. We are very happy with the way attic turned out. The house is warmer and the attic no longer looks like a dump.

Susana, the estimator, called us the same day we contacted the firm, and arranged a time to come out to give us an estimate on adding insulation to our home. We had just had two batches of workmen in the attic -- one group to install home theater speakers, and one group to install security cameras -- so the builder-grade R-12 insulation in the attic was trampled over most of the area. Most of the pipes were exposed, and the hot water pipes were creating water hammers in the cold attic. Susana said she felt sure the insulation installers could put a cotton insulation batt under the pipes before they blew in the insulation, and that would reduce the hammering significantly. She recommended that, since we planned to stay in this house for several years, we should insulate to R-38, for best results, and we agreed. We had had R-38 in our previous home and it made a huge difference in how the house maintained temperature. Susana gave us an estimate that we felt was reasonable, and we made arrangements later that day with the scheduler who gave us a choice of the next day (December 19th) or Christmas Eve day (December 24th). Because there were a few repair jobs in the attic that we had been putting off, and that needed to be done before they were covered up with insulation, we elected to go with December 24th.
The workers were scheduled to show up between 7:30am and 8:30am on Christmas Eve day. Because of the date, we expected them at the later end of that window, but they rang the doorbell at 7:31am. By 7:45am, after talking to us about the job a bit, they were laying plastic down in the hall, making sure that our pets were confined and not in danger of escape or injury, and loading Celbar into the blower hoppers on their truck. They wore correct protective gear, including suits and headgear, as well as face masks and breathing apparatus, which gave us a real feel for how well they were trained by the company. It has been our experience that companies who do not care how their workers are protected from potentially hazardous materials also do not care how their customers are protected -- or treated. If the respect shown by the two workers, Jaime and Campos, as well as how they conducted themselves, is any indication, this company cares a great deal for its workers AND its customers.
By 10:30am, Jaime and Campos were cleaning up. They actually left my carpet cleaner than they found it! And did an excellent job in the attic. They also repaired damage to our attic door that the previous (unrelated) workers had done. In my opinion, the Payless workers went above and beyond to do the best possible job. It's the kind of expertise, workmanship, courtesy, dignity, and respect that you get when you deal with a business of this integrity. I definitely recommend Payless for any insulation job.
