When the Contractor's technician came to check and service our Generac standby generator on first visit, he failed to put the generator on automatic exercise mode, as recommended or required by the manufacturer. Instead, he expected us to do manual exercising once a week, which we could not have knowingly agreed because we were leaving on a 2-month overseas trip. It was difficult to communicate with him. The generator was found dead on 2nd visit 6 months later. In process, also lost a new battery and the old battery charger. The manufacturer's manual explicitly states that the unit should be exercised automatically. It does not give an option for manual exercising. Automatic exercising was also what the previous contractor had used for maintaining and servicing the generator year-after-year. The contractor also failed to contact us for remedial action until I called them 3 weeks later. Their excuse that they could not find a Generac battery charger locally was very poor, because by telephone l found 3 local Generac suppliers in 10 minutes that carry the needed part. For settlement, the contractor declined partal refund. The contractor is an authorized dealer for Kohler generators but not Generac units. All-in-all, it was a bad experience.

Burt and team are professional, prompt, compassionate and honest...a rare find these days. I can't thank you enough! our generator now functions appropriately and has auto on/off when power goes off. We have a 3000 sq ft home, 3 refrigerators and two AC units. Burt is the type of person I would have as a friend! God bless him!
