They arrived late, the "Supervisor," was a low self-esteemed, and kept asking the Muslims that worked with him what he was supposed to do the entire time! We did a walk-through of every single room so that they could take inventory. In the kitchen, I specifically told them NOT to take the refrigerator, that it belonged to the corporate leasing agency. Moreover, I have an expensive, brand new, formal, Amish dining table and 12-chairs I had just purchased from Gallery Furniture. The table had a flaw and GF had ordered me another table. I asked (when in the formal dining room) I kept reiterating how important it was for that to be loaded into the van FIRST, in order that it would be the last item out of the truck at the storage building; making it available for GF to remove it and put our newly re-ordered table inside. But no, they placed it in the very back of our 30' storage building. We would later find that out when GF called to make the swap. My 69-year old husband had to unload the building to get to the table. Our 24-year-old son stayed with the house as we had to leave for one hour. Within 40 minutes we were a few blocks from the house when the supervisor called and said that they had everything out of the house and was driving over to our storage unit. I remarked that they were fast, and he said that they left only a few small items that I would be able to put in the back of my pickup truck. I met them over at the storage unit and unlocked it. My son calls me and says that I had better come home quick, that their was a problem. We went home (2 miles from storage) and inside the home, the movers had left so much of my belongings in the house! The portrait boxes that I paid for the mover's through Lance, the Manager, were laying on the floor and my portraits were all still on the wall! And to boot, my brand new lawn tractor, a $4,000. dollar mower, the mover's had left on the curb alongside things that I had laid out for the trash man to pick up, or anyone that wanted to come by and rummage through the stuff! I called the "Supervisor," and he told me that it wouldn't fit into the moving van. So...you just left it on the curb with the garbage? I asked. I had to drive back to the storage and confront him. But before leaving the house, I went in the kitchen to grab a bottled water off the bar. That's when I noticed that the refrigerator was missing. I drove over to the storage building and they had already packed so much into the building! Fast, yes, but inefficient. When I told him about the refrigerator, he put his hands on top of his head and yelled out, "Oh my God, I can't do this **** anymore!" He then told me that I would have to pay more money because of having taken them so long! I told him I was calling Lance, the Manager. I asked him about the refrigerator, and he said it was the first thing that went in...that meant pulling everything out to get to it. Not my problem, I told him, you were never supposed to have taken it out of the house. He even had it written down on the paperwork from the walk-through. Lance, the Manager, claims to have offered me my money back after the botched up move, which incidentally, took an additional three hours to get everything out of the house that the movers decided they didn't feel like moving. I couldn't believe these people. Lance, the Manager, claims that he offered to give me my money back. I would have said yes, in a New York minute. He's a liar. He never offered such a thing. My family and I were exhausted as the crew did not come back to the house to help us move. Only the supervisor, if you can call him that, and another worker. I had used this company once before and had a great move. The clowns that they sent to my home were incompetent. With that bunch, you NEVER know if you'll get a good group or they send in the clowns.

FFMS will break your stuff and is over-priced!! We hired FFMS to pack and move to storage the few items we could salvage after our single story home flooded during Harvey. Over $2,000 of items were broken or damaged in the move and Lance Potter, the general manager, will assume no responsibility even though his crew packed the items. We hired them to pack and move what survived the flood. We chose to store our items in a self storage unit so we could access it during the rebuild. We were unable to supervise the packing (but they are professionals, who would have thought supervision was needed?), but had concerns when we saw them load a large picture frame box into the storage unit and a piece of glass fell out. Kyle, the crew lead initially pretended like he hadn’t kicked the piece of broken glass under another box, but my daughter confronted him and insisted he open the box. There were two pictures with broken glass and damaged frames (placed face to face with no bubble wrap or padding) which they finally admitted they had dropped. Kyle’s comment was “well this is going to come out of my pay”. Lance Potter ultimately paid to repair these two items, but I have no doubt if my daughter had not confronted Kyle at the time, he would have denied any responsibility for these items being damaged. When we finally moved back into the house, we were able to see how poorly the FFMS crew packed the rest of our valuables. A large flat screen TV was placed in a box without any bubble wrap or padding and ended up with a broken screen. I had hand blown glass decorative items packed together with one layer of bubble wrap next to an eighteen pound vase. Of course some of the glass items were shattered, but Lance Potter’s comment was “well they didn’t all break, did they?” After we rebuilt the house following the flood, we did not have FFMS move the items back into our house due to the negative experience we had when moving out. Save yourself some money by going with someone else: FFMS charged $1396 to move our items into storage (packing was an additional $2000) and the exact reverse move by a different company was only $505. So, save yourself money and a headache and hire someone else unless you want to deal with broken items and a snarky manager. It’s a shame there are companies that treat people like this when they have lost so much in Harvey.
Response from Firefighting's Finest Moving & Storage Inc of Houston

"We are very sorry that this customer had to endure loss due of Hurricane Harvey. As a company owned and operated by first-responders, we witnessed first-hand the devastation and loss felt by so many Houstonians. Firefighting's Finest was very active in providing support and volunteer services to help those in need during and after the crisis. Firefighting's Finest Moving & Storage takes great pride in exceeding customers expectations on every move. We are very sorry to hear that we fell short with this customer. During the move into storage, the crew lead alerted the manager on-duty that 2 glass picture frames were damaged. These items were repaired within about 1 week and returned to customer, no other issues were identified. Nearly 6 months after Firefighting's Finest moved the customer in storage, we received a notification that the customer reported damaged items. Regulations require all damage claims must be filed by the customer within 90 of completion of the move. Firefighting's Finest agreed to investigate the customers damage claim. Upon investigation, the customer informed FFMS that another moving company was contracted to move the items out of storage. Firefighting's Finest has no control over how the customers items were handled or transported and cannot be held responsible for the actions of another company. We are very sorry that the customer feels that Firefighting's Finest is responsible for items that we did not deliver, but we cannot be responsible for damages which may have incurred beyond our control. FFMS goes to great lengths to pack and protect our customer items with top-of-the line packing materials and techniques and will continue to do everything possible to provide excellent packing and moving service."

A little late on getting in quote. But gave me a comparable quote. They did an awesome and amazing job. Loading was quick. Team lead Deon and Donovan work hard when they got to Austin. Everything unloaded to 2nd story and placed where ask. These young men need a raise.

Rude phone contact several times. Tried to cancel but they keep deposit. After three voice messages, a manager called me, apologized, and we agreed to proceed. Later, he called and offered additional 10% off because I was repeat customer. And unhappy. This on top of 10% off for cash pay. Great. But no one told movers who arrived. Just got 10% cash discount. Not worth the trouble to deal with these guys. Thought I was helping fireman. Think it's all untrue. Will not use or recommend. Feel lied to.
Response from Firefighting's Finest Moving & Storage Inc of Houston

"Thank you for taking the time to send your feedback. I am the General Manager who spoke to you the same day after your initial phone call. After apologizing for the misunderstanding and the less than professional conversation you previously had with one of our consultants, I assured you that you will receive an additional 10% discount which I personally adjusted, while we were on the phone. I also assured you that I will make sure you receive outstanding service and asked you to please call me personally with any concerns. Both gentlemen that helped you with your move are firefighters and one of them also serves in the Army. They both indicated to me how grateful they were for your very generous tip. I am very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service you received. I hope to have the opportunity to earn your business again in the future."

The four young men were prompt, courteous, and very professional. They were very careful with all my furniture. They also delivered two table and 10 chairs to another location for me. They unloaded furniture into a storage location and did a great job of arranging everything so we'd have access

The packing was done carefully. When unpacking the truck and moving everything into the new house, the 5-person crew was exceptionally careful. The new house was built with some awkward doorways, but the crew got all the furniture in without even bumping the walls. They were working on a very hot day, with a client who changed her mind a lot about what to pack, where to arrange it, etc., but they were unfailingly patient and polite. They made a very stressful event much easier for all of us.

Needed to move. They underestimated my move by the amount of manpower needed. My home was upscale and was not treated with respect. SEVERAL things were broken and or damaged. Mattresses were dragged etc. Management did not offer to stand behind their work. Management was rude! Overall BAD experience would NEVER recommend

They charged me $150 for incidental because the move had to drive further away, but that was before the move actually happened. They said they will refund me if it's not used. It ended up not being used. The workers were nice. They did the job really quickly, although I didn't have a lot of stuff, they moved me with no problem. They worked like a team; they looked very professional. They helped me pack up a couple of boxes, so they could put in the truck and there was no issues with them.

Great experience! One comment - on the move sent a crew of three guys which was not enough. They worked over 10 hours to complete the job - and those guys were exhausted. Even as tired as they were - they were all professional.

The crew who moved me from Houston to Galveston in February 2017 was excellent! Brian was professional, efficient, and friendly. The same goes for Jerry. They made my move as smooth as it possibly could have been. They made easy work of the loading and unloading of the truck. In fact, they were able to shave 30 minutes from the time I was estimated. It was a pleasure to have them with me that day. I never felt uncomfortable around them, and they helped to ease my moving-day stress. They even made sure that my dog, Chelsea, got love and scratches. :) From scheduling my move with Daniel (who was kind enough to exchange multiple text messages with me,) to having Brian and Jerry do the actual move, I could not have asked for a better experience. I chose FFMS based on their BBB rating, reviews, and the fact that they are all first responders. They did not disappoint. I will recommend them to anyone I know who needs moving services!

They worked their hearts out! It was rewarding to give back to those who sacrifice so much for us. They conducted themselves very professionally. I have recommended them several times. Following is an excerpt from my quote on 7/31/14: Firefighting's Finest will send you a 3 man crew with 1 vehicle(s) at the rate of $155.00 per hour. We believe that the move will take approximately 8 hours. The time estimate was based on the information provided during the booking/scheduling: Move a 1400 sq. ft. 3 bedroom house to a house in Waller Tx. There is a gun safe that is 5ftx2ft, and a custom entertainment center that is 6x10x2. It is one piece. Customer will move the TV themselves. 1.5 hour drive time and a $45 fuel assessed that the end of job. Hourly rate is discounted for cash or check payment.
