We are a very good customer purchasing a whole home audio and WiFi system with Control4 and complete security monitoring with a new build home. Not to mention motorized shades. Big purchase. Initial setup was fine. BUT support and warranty help is almost non-existant. Very hard to get anything scheduled and when they show, parts are wrong. Shades work about half the time. Switches have falling off network. I have complained to the builder as well. If you have other options, use them.

Never ran the correct wiring that we paid for when building our house. Rather than knock hundreds of holes in the walls, they ‘gifted’ us a wireless system so we would have the functionality we paid for. Failed to mention that we are now bound to them for $125/hr service calls anytime we change our router, the software needs upgraded, or have any issues with the system as it is proprietary. Took 2 1/2 weeks for someone to come out to fix a couple of issues and still not working. Never call when they say they will. Stuck with thousands of dollars of equipment that doesn’t work. No quality control, no professionalism. Only lies and excuses.

they double all of the equipment prices from what you can purchase yourself. That is substantial when doing a new construction

My builder recommend them to me. They're responsiveness is not that good. I had to call several times to ask when they were coming and why weren't they coming. I'm sure they're very busy, but I had to follow up with them several times before I finally got them to come out here. Other than the responsiveness problem, everything was fine. Once I got somebody out here, he explained everything. He told me what my options were. He was very helpful. I haven't had any problems with the service since then. They turned up on time, when they installed the whole system and explained to me how it worked. I haven't had any problems with the system working the way it's supposed to. It's been an excellent alarm system. I recommend them, but they need to be more responsive.

Bought a new home with builder installed security system. Really nice BUT.......I deleted the prewired interior camera and opted for a new wireless out door not prewired camera - Installer gave two lousy options regarding mounting camera outside which were to mount camera in a position where someone could actually evade the camera and only capture the back side of the head and to plug in the transformer into an outside outlet right by the front door. OR drill into the stone work or plank siding at the side of the house and fish a line into the garage to plug in a cord 6 feet down the wall from the camera on the outside to get power. Tech was definitely not prepared or willing for that. Got burned by ADT and now entering into another overpriced 3 year contract which will pay for the system 3 times over. Sales person not very keen on providing information on the camera install -just seemed happy to make the sale. He meant well, but it seemed to be a pattern and common outcome based on conversations with installer a major break down of communication between sales and field tech who gets stuck with the customer after the sale. Not impressed. Also I asked the alarm sales person to have the Home Theater group give me a call. The home is pre wired for additional sound system and I wanted to integrate my existing system (upgrade) But, After two weeks, no call. I had to remind the sales rep again after signing the paperwork for the alarm to have them give me a call.  So I get a call from Dave and he was about as interested as a door knob to do anything as I explained I had a system and wanted to integrate but he said they do not deal with customers existing equipment-  company advertises the fact that they do Home Theater - Well they obviously do so - as long as you buy an entirely new one -they just will not will not touch existing equipment only interested in the sale - the house is pre wired for technology package for sound but after two weeks and little inspiration, they sent me a quote to upgrade the entire system with their own for over 2k. and that is with an 800 dollar discount if I buy the whole system.

It don't go - we never received service that we requested

Very dissatisfied overall. Had to complain and bug them to install what was sold. Finally sort of accomplished it. Alarm is fine, although before it was activated, they were already trying to upswell us over and above what they had already encouraged us to buy. But it works as they said it would. Home automation is fine. Nothing special. Most is readily available from a lot of sources. My biggest issues are with the control 4 system and the sound/audio along with the boost to our uverse Internet. The sound in our family room is terrible. The sound bar they sold us does very little to make the tv watchable in our family room. They sold it all to us by looking at the plans. They never came out to look at the room and determine what was good. We were told it could be set so that it sounded as if the audio was coming from the sides like regular external speakers. Not even close. They ignored the areas we had designated for phone and Internet connections so that now I cannot have a land line where I want it. The Internet hardwire connection in my bedroom never worked. Our boosted Internet wifi doesn't work well in my bedroom either. Constantly having to reconnect. Not worth it. I just have to go to the other room or simply connect to the uverse wifi......so the Datasmart boost/hotspot is basically useless. Surround sound in our game room is fine. Certainly not worth 20k we spent. They really oversell what they can do. Our technician was very helpful to do what he could. Dustin was great. Our salesperson, Robert, was not.

They came highly recommended from the builder and anyone else I know. They were very professional and handle everything very well. They were just really great to work with. They are basically in line with everyone else but they make sure that they give you the best deal.

Data Smart provides an excellent service. Their response time is awesome. They are one of the most affordable home security monitoring systems in the area. With installation, they provide monitoring for the first year for free. The package that I purchased also included free motion detectors for my home. They only charge $20 a month after the free, first year.
