When our landscaper said we had a bee problem after they were stung, we called in the experts at Critter Control. Roger and another tech arrived early for our appointment and went to examine the area after we provided them the information we had. Well---there was no bee nest found, nor any signs of bees in or around the utility boxes within the landscaped area. We are so grateful that Critter Control is upfront and honest. They gave us helpful information on signs to look for but didn't even charge us for their inspection service call. Now this is amazing customer service! Thanks Critter Control!

They sold me rat bait boxes and put an animal trap in my attic, yet never came back despite calls. I had to get animal and trap out of attic myself. I am diabled, so that was hard and scary. I paid a lot for little action.

Technician did not show up and no one ever called to say they were running late or anything. Their information online states they are open until 6pm but when you call, no one answers after 5 pm and the recording says they close at 5pm. After speaking with the young lady there on 4/27/18 I was sure things would run smoothly but that was not the case. Someone should have called me. Judy Hardin

Called Critter Control for a quote after hearing an animal making sounds in the wall. We suspected a squirrel. They scheduled a visit to inspect the problem right away, and their staff member arrived on time. He inspected the attics and informed me that we were INFESTED with rats, that the problem had been going on a long time, that we needed to seal off all entry points, bait/trap for rats and then remove all insulation, fog the attics with disinfectant and replace the insulation with their "treated" insulation. I was obviously shocked and horrified and ready to spend the $8500 to do all of this work right away. However, several of the reviews on Angie's List made me pause, and I felt it best to get a few more quotes from other animal control companies as well as insulation companies. During this time, we clearly saw a squirrel entering the house through a hole he chewed in the eave. Needless to say, all of the other companies we brought to the house were very clear in saying it's possible there were rats and squirrels in the attic, but certainly not an infestation, and all highly recommended that we DO NOT remove and replace our existing insulation. We hired a company to remove the animals and after sealing off all entry points and baiting/trapping for both squirrels and rats, we caught 1 squirrel and zero rats. After getting quotes from several companies, I would mention that I had another company recommending that we remove/replace the insulation and they would all say "Was that Critter Control?". Apparently, Critter Control has a reputation for using scare tactics to get people to spend money on insulation removal/replacement when it's not at all necessary. I think this is unacceptable and wanted this to be known on Angie's List. I would highly recommend that people get several quotes when dealing with any issue in their homes.

Other than feeling that I was TOTALLY bent over on the price, they did a decent job that was backed up by a proud warranty - LIFETIME warranty. Well we have been seeing rat poop in the garage and can see that it wasn't sealed properly. We have been calling for DAYS - they do not answer the phone, do not return calls - nothing. No backup on this fancy warranty at all. It is my understanding that the company / franchise was sold about a year ago. Before this sale, customer service was right on point. Now there is NO customer service at all. Beware folks. I am considering taking them to small claims court at this time.

I found a deal for Critter control on Angie's list and called the business around 9am, telling them I was thinking purchasing the deal through Angie’s list but I needed to know if they could come within a couple of days first. They said yes, plenty of availability. I immediately ordered through Angie’s list and then called them back to schedule. We were about to schedule for the next day and I asked if they happened to have any available that same day even for that afternoon or evening. She checked and mentioned a specific guy (didn’t note the name) did not have a full schedule for the day and was actually available. I could hear her talking to someone to verify. She gave me a window of time for I think 2 – 5pm and I asked them to call 15 minutes before they came and she said sure (pretty typical for most service calls now). Well at 5pm I hadn’t heard from anyone so I called them. The person I talked to told me it was actually scheduled for the next day and I was mistaken. I politely replied back that the person scheduling it very clearly said they had an opening for today and told me that they were coming today but she continued to say they didn’t schedule it that day. I was polite about it because I understand mix-ups happen but she just kept telling me I was the one mistaken without even apologizing for the situation or accepting there was a possibility that they messed up. That was very irritating and bad business practice. There is no way I was confused given I had just talked to them at 10am and knew I had a special request just in case they had the openings. If they had even just apologized and accepted responsibility or even partially said so sorry, I wouldn’t have thought any more about it. So then comes the next day. The guy shows up with no call in advance as they told me. Fortunately we were at home. The guy did an okay treatment overall. I know they can be very efficient but he was in and out in really a flash. He sprayed for the ants and put cockroach bait in the garage. I had a question about droppings on top of our refrigerator and without going out to look at it, he told me it was all roaches. We have dealt with Rodents problem and a few years ago had Critter control out for very costly and massive rodent extraction and replacing of insulation in attic, sealing holes, etc so my husband has a strong idea of what is rats and what is roaches and he thought what was on the refrigerator was rats. The guy just said it was roaches but I am fairly confident he didn’t ever go back into the garage to look at the refrigerator to check it which is all I was asking. I will say he did a good job spraying and baiting for ants and cockroaches that were our number 1 problem. The ants had gotten out of control and coming in the house so that was why we wanted the appointment quickly. But I also mentioned to him about seeing silverfish here and there over the last month. He says something like “sorry I usually have something but you can buy a simple bait at the store. Later when he was finishing up I asked him what was the specific product for the silverfish and he said “sorry, my last customer had a lot and I used all my baits.” He then told me the name of the product I can buy at the store. Seriously I couldn’t believe that because the previous customer needed them all and he hadn’t restocked yet, I get to still have to go to the store to buy a basic product that should be included in my basic treatment I just paid for? And no offer to drop it back by another time? Right after that as the gentleman is leaving he says “we are having a contest so if I did at least a decent job, would you please post a review on Yelp?” seriously those were his words “decent job”. that’s what they are aiming for? He seemed like he “knew his stuff”, but I hope I just had this guy on one of his off days. But just really not happy with my overall experience that day. Feels like a company that has been highly rated but a little too comfortable with their ratings and reputation, forgetting that it is all the little details and sometimes apologizing for even small mistakes goes a long way for customer happiness. After he left, I looked up the details on the service I paid for. Yes it lists Silverfish. I had planned to call them back when I saw a silverfish a couple of week later but I was really busy and never got time to do it. This was what was shown to be included in the treatment I purchased: Treating interior of home, reducing populations of cockroaches, sugar ants, spiders, wasps and bees, earwigs, silverfish, and beetles...

Had a raccoon get into our attic and happened to come across an ad for Critter Control and decide to give them a call. Mark Miller was sent to us for the inspection and estimate of the work needed. Mark was very knowledge and was very detailed on the work that needed to be done and why. A team was scheduled to be sent out in less than a week and a half. Guadalupe, Yeyser, and team BAT arrived at our home early in the morning. They hit the ground running from start to finish. They kept me updated on each step of the process. I didn't believe it when they said it was going to be in one day but they made it happen. That was all the required work plus clean up inside and outside of the house. I am 100% satisfied with the work the team did. If anyone has any issues that Critrer Control can deal with don't hesitate to contact them. You will not be disappointed!! Thank you guys for all yalls help and hard work!!

Critter Control to the rescue. We were able to get an appointment scheduled for the very next day. The technician arrived on time and was able to remove the birds humanely, totally clean and disinfect the affected areas and attach a screen so that the problem would not reoccur. The technician was top notch. We are very pleased with the service.

It went ok. They had to come back and redo one thing that wasn't done correctly. They let a stray cat in my house that ended up pooping and peeing on the carpet in two bedrooms. Plus I ended up with bites so I had them come exterminate. The front part of my house isn't cooling properly so I have to have someone come out and check the duct work. And I think the critter droppings were not removed from the ducts prior to fixing because a bad smell comes into the house each time the air kicks on. I never received the pictures of the work in progress as promised initially. I selected "no" on the hire again question because maybe wasn't an option.

Give a great overview, addressed all of our questions and concerns and was very professional. After having a couple of other inspections done to confirm the issue (2nd opinion), we decided to move forward with CC, based on their professionalism, warranty and quick response. They are scheduled to start on June 8th.

Work went quickly and efficiently. Upstairs air conditioner was disconnected and tankless water heater was unplugged. Had to call Air Conditioning Service to get the units turned operating again. Long electrical extension cord was left. If they do not return for extension cord, I will give it back to representative when they do a follow up inspection next week.
Response from Critter Control of Houston

"We take reviews like this and learn from them. We don't want to cause any inconveniences for our customers. We will be enforcing a new policy to be sure that nothing gets left behind and that our customer has a/c and their water heater working before we leave. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn and improve."
