"Dear customer, Thank you for taking the time to review our performance. We appreciate and value your comments, and we are happy that you are satisfied with our services. We hope to keep serving you in the future. Best regards, Justin Cravens"
The Craven electrician arrived close to on time, but without the right color (ivory) USB plug and told me he could not find ivory at Home Depot and that it would be a special order. If it was to be a special order, Craven should have ordered it in advance as I had contacted them the week before to do this job and told them ivory color, not white. He also told me that if Home Depot doesn't have it then neither will Lowe's or other places, etc. Seemed like a bold assumption on his part, so I asked him to check. He did and found one but only a partial one (2 USB), not the full 4 USB outlet that I had requested.
The Craven guy also showed up without a ladder, and told me he came to "check out the situation" whether they needed scaffolding, or some other type of ladder, and would come back another day with the right equipment to change the bulbs. I told him I had taken time off from work to meet Craven at the house and could not afford to take another day off just because they did not bring the right equipment. I also told him that the last electrician who changed our bulbs used a tall extension ladder to change them out without a problem, which is why I told the lady at Craven on the phone to have the technician bring out a tall extension ladder. the Craven electrician must have called his office, because he then came back and told me it would cost $1100 to change the bulbs out and he would need to come back another day. The last electrician who changed the bulbs charged me $100. I sent the Craven guy away as he did not come with the right USB outlet I requested and did not come with the right equipment to change the bulbs. I think we should get our big deal payment refunded in full. Completely unsatisfactory service.

Oscar from Cravens came on 5/4/15 to provide information regarding the smoke detectors and while he was here he asked if there was anything else we needed. I mentioned about the outlet in the garage and the 2 external outlets on the front and back of the house.
He suggested since the detectors were 15 years old and we were experiencing issues when replacing batteries he recommended replacing them all. Also confirmed the GFI outlet was tripped and needed to be replaced. He scheduled for the work to be performed the following morning.
Service tech (I think it was Scott?) arrived on time and was ready to get started. He was patient with my one dog who was freaking out due to the chirping of the detectors. He removed them all and took them outside to minimize the stress on the dog. He also mentioned that the detector continued to beep even after it was disconnected from the power source which affirmed there must have been something wrong with it.
He replaced the GFI outlet in the garage and confirmed the exterior outlets were working again.
"Thank you for the great comments. We look forward to servicing your electrical needs in the future!"
First of all, the date of service is approximate. It was around Thanksgiving so I just picked a date in mid-November.
We needed some electrical work performed at our house. Specifically, we needed to install three outdoor outlets, replace two bathroom exhaust fans, and replace a receptacle in our game room. The ratings for Cravens Electric appeared to be good so we purchased a Big Deal from Angie's List for electrical services. Cravens Electric was prompt in calling us back and was very responsive in informing us about an appointment that needed to be rescheduled. They came out promptly at the rescheduled time, and were very courteous and professional. I explained the work to be performed and asked for an estimate. They went around and looked at everything and came back with an estimate for about $3,200.00. In my opinion, the estimate was unusually high so I told them that I will definitely have to get a second estimate.
I was able to get a handyman to perform all of the above work and also replace the toilet tank mechanism because the toilet kept running. The handyman worked with a licensed electrician and got all that done for about $900.00 including the cost of materials and labor. They were very polite, professional and worked as fast as possible. They had it all done including repainting the wall they had to cut open to install one outdoor outlet.
The estimate from Cravens Electric was so out of line that I was simply speechless. Now I am stuck with a Big Deal that is practically useless because we don't need any more electrical work performed. Angie's List will not refund the money because we did not cancel it within the 30 days' time limit. We have another couple of months before we lose our money altogether unless we find another Big Deal that we can use before this one expires.
I am sure I will not call on Cravens Electric again, and I am not sure if I will buy another Big Deal from Angie's List again.
"We have asked Angie's list to please give you a full refund. We are sorry for your inconvenience - we do not control Angie's list refund policy. The quote we provided you was for $2281.00 not $3200.00. Thank you for the opportunity to bid on the project. Thanks"
They were very good in responding to me, the cost was just more than I was looking for.
