Moving
$160,000
Stacked wood on wood with no padding, damaging some of the furniture. Didn't pack it in the storage shed correctly making it necessary to rent another unit. We hired another company who were exceptional and charged $800 where Christian Brothers charged $1600.

Moving, Piano Moving
The men who did the move were professional and courteous. However, I was not impressed with the office staff of this company. The office told us the movers would arrive between 8:30am and 9am, and they arrived at 7:30. Yes, it is nice when people are early, but my husband and I were still strategizing and getting ready for the day. We had to scramble, and the day ended up being very long. The company sent 2 men instead of 3. The movers also were not aware that we had a piano. But an estimator had come to my house and took pictures and made notes, so there is no reason they should have been unaware of the piano. They moved it, but were not happy about it. The company gave us the (cheaper) rate for 2 men instead of 3 as the estimate had stated, but they added extra fees for materials that were not on the estimate, and because the men took so much longer than estimated, the cost was still very high. I pointed out boxes marked "fragile" that had my knickknacks and delicate items, but the movers ignored the labels and ended up stacking fragile boxes under heavy items. The way they loaded the truck was very inefficient and cost a lot of time. Overall, the men tried and we have no issue about how hard they worked, but there needs to be more communication from the office to customers and to the men, and I didn't feel the service I received was worth the cost. In full disclosure, I had declined the move after getting an estimate, but then we changed our minds and called back to arrange, so perhaps the company was a bit short-staffed that day. But they should have declined to serve us instead of sending fewer men and not communicating the full job.

I requested a quote online. They promise a response within 24 hours. I got a call back after 5 days. Since I had received several quotes already I had asked the rep. to put together a quote with the same number of trucks/people/hours and to email it to me since I was very busy. I verified my email address with him and he said I would get it in about 30 mins. I never heard back. This is how you are going to branch out into the moving business?? What a joke!! I've got to say, as a customer of your automotive services I am questioning your entire business entity. What a disappointment!!

Not very well. We were given a "high end" quote for two days of service, then they changed it to one day (with a lot of overtime that we weren't told about), and the charge went up buy a lot.  We refused to pay more than we were quoted and they did eventually accept that.  That said, the actual movers were very good.

I received an estimate from Christian Brothers over the phone and because it was so low I then insisted a representative come out and do a "walk through" to make sure the estimate would be realistic.  I also received estimates from 2 other moving companies that were higher than CB but ended up to be much lower than CB's actual bill.  CB estimated 10 hours (actual billed for 17.5 hours).  They estimated $400 for fuel (actual billed for $800).  The total estimate that was off by 67% and does not seem to meet the ethics test.  They estimated  $2,388 vs. actual of $3,998.50.  After calling them on two occasions, I was told I would receive a call back regarding the discrepancy.   They did on return by calls.  On April 29 I called again asking for someone to address the difference in their estimate.  Instead, I have received 2 E-mails from their law firm threatening legal action if we do not pay the $3,998.50.  The amount has been charged to our VISA account.  I had hoped for a better response from Christian Brothers but since that does not seem to be possible, I feel any potential customers of theirs should be made aware of our huge disappointment in their ability to make a realistic estimate of their services.  It should not be difficult to make better estimates regarding "moving hours" and "fuel".  Potential customers -- BEWARE OF THEIR ESTIMATES.
