Description of Work: Julio Chavez's service was exceptional, beyond expectations, and at a reasonable price. I just found my new plumber for every plumbing need. I have had the same problem for many years: an air conditioning drain was tied into the pipes under the sink in my master bathroom, and every year the sink stops up and quits draining due to AC sludge in the pipes below. I have called multiple plumbers and services through the years, you know their names and advertisements, and it was always the same thing: we need to totally rework your plumbing for many $$$, and when I would refuse, they would do a lousy job unstopping my drain so that it would never drain completely normally. They would spend about 5 minutes using their roto rooter tool and charge me $250. I called Chavez plumbing because they had good reviews on Angie's list and they could come out on a Saturday. Julio Chavez, the owner, was the one who came to do the work. He arrived earlier than the initial time estimate, within two hours of my call. He took all of the pipes apart, cleaned everything out, totally unstopped the drain, and it now runs perfectly for the first time in years. He also gave me a plan on how to keep it from stopping up again in the future. He spent an hour here and charged me $175 (with the Angie's discount). I am totally blown away by how thorough and effective Julio was. He even took the pipes apart a second time because he wasn't satisfied that it was draining the way it should. My only (minor) complaint is that they would not tell me up front what the cost would be even though I told them what the problem was and asked for a quote or even just a rough estimate. It was only after the service was provided that he told me how much it would cost. Although I don't feel like I was taken advantage of at all, I always prefer to know ahead of time what the cost is going to be. All in all, a remarkably positive experience for a reasonable price.  + -1 moreIt was a huge job, loud, messy, but clearly there was no easy way to do it all easier. They made it as painless and as possible and cleaned it all up when they left and explained exactly what to do.
Description of Work: They installed a new tankless water heater in my house, replacing the water line and gas line. It has a remote which is installed in the pantry to make any adjustments to the temperature. I also had the filters installed so I did not have to clean it each year.

Description of Work: I called Chavez Plumbing first thing on a Saturday morning with a clogged sewer line. Julio answered the phone and told me what he thought it was and gave me an estimate and said would come by around 1:00 that same day. He showed up right on time, fixed it quickly along with a few other minor plumbing repairs that were needed. He was knowledgeable and gave good advice. He was very friendly and professional and worked quickly.

 + -1 moreOverall, the service provided was great. The owner came out personally on the same day called - which I just happened to be on vacation. He did not have the exact part on hand, but went to several stores to find the part needed. He replaced it quickly and the leak stopped. The next two days we heard a knocking whenever we turned on the water - it sounded like it was coming from the pipes in the shower where the work was done. We immediately called Chavez Plumbing back out to see what the matter was. They showed up the next day and at no charge, replaced the part a 2nd time and we've not heard any knocking since.
Description of Work: Inspected leaking shower head in master bathroom to determine cause and what repairs would be needed.

Description of Work: Julio was WONDERFUL! He was professional and courteous from the moment he answered the phone. He came out within 20 minutes of my call to analyze a situation that I thought was a cracked galvanized drain pipe in my bathroom. He instead determined that the pipe was not cracked, but rather the sewer system was backed up, which made it impossible for the water to escape any other way, than to push its way out of the seams of the pipe. He and his co-worker cleaned out my sewer line -- and explained the problem to me from start to finish. I am very pleased with Chavez Plumbing -- and when I get ready to replace my water heater, Julio will be the first person I will call. He was fair and honest, and responded to my problem almost immediately. A+++++!! : )

 + 0 moreMy very nervous 80 year old mother's bathroom sink was spontaneously filling with clear water every 4 hours. I called Chavez Plumbing at 8:30 AM this morning (Saturday) and spoke with Mr. Chavez himself, he was very helpful and knew right away what the problem was most likely to be and even gave me an idea of the cost range on the phone so I would know what to expect if that was indeed the problem. He gave me a window from 10:30-12:30 and said he would call when he was on his way. He called me at 10:30 and arrived at 11:00 AM much sooner then I would have expected. He and his assistant were very polite and professional went right to work and within 20 minutes they had completed the work of cleaning out the a/c drain and pipes and the problem was fixed and the sink was as good as new. I actually felt a little bad about the amount of money we ended up paying this company. The work was $185.00, but Mr. Chavez gave me the Angie's List 10% discount so the total was $166.50 for not only a job well done, but on a Saturday at that. There are not really words to adequately describe how much I appreciated the service this company provided. I would highly recommend Mr. Chavez and any of his staff for your plumbing needs. My mother came home and almost cried she was so happy it had all been fixed and she did not have to spend the rest of the weekend worrying and Monday trying to find a good plumber she could trust! Now we have found our plumber of choice for our families for life. We will be recommending Chavez Plumbing to everyone we know!! Thank you!!!

 + -1 moreGreat experience overall. I called early morning on Wednesday because our master bath sink (the sink that the a/c drains into) was completely clogged and not draining. And was filling quickly. The girl who answered the call listened completely to my current problem and referred to the filling sink with a tone that implied it's importance. She set up a window of time between 1 and 3p that day. At 1:15 the crew showed up (which happened to be the owner and assistant) and had the problem fixed in less than 30 minutes. I was grateful for their cleanliness as well. They left the entire area without a trace that there was ever a problem. And that's saying something because the bathroom is all white and the carpet in the master bed is white too. Thanks, Chavez Plumbing for being great at what you do, with terrific customer service as well.

 + 0 moreExcellent. From the beginning, I felt the folks at Chavez were doing their best to give us an honest opinion of what was wrong and what the best options for fixing it would be. They were very prompt in returning calls, gave us complete information about what they were doing, and always came to the house on time for their appointments. Furthermore, the quality of their work was first-rate. They pointed out where a previous vendor had cut corners and they included some extras (additional piping and putting in a new roof vent) that I thought it would have been reasonable to charge us for. End result was an excellent job at what we felt was a fair price. I would have no reservations recommending Chavez Plumbing and will use them again myself.
Description of Work: Our water heater had problems and needed either repair or replacement. The repairman got the heater working and they gave us a reasonable quote for both the repair work and a replacement. Chavez Plumbing helped us get in touch with our water heater maker (GE) to see about getting parts for the repair under warranty. In the end, we didn't feel GE were being reasonable in honoring their warranty so we opted to have the heater replaced.

 + 0 moreMy initial call was returned promptly and a very polite woman scheduled me in with an appointment the next work day; the appointment was given under a two-hour window. Julio with Chavez Plumbing arrived within the time frame promised. He quickly went to work on a bathroom tub drain that we believed drywall had fallen into from above. Much to our surprise, it was just hair from years of use with previous homeowners. Julio unplugged the drain, made certain all sinks in area were flowing and left his work area clean. Thank you, Chavez Plumbing!
Description of Work: Our upstairs bathroom tub/shower was plugged; we suspected it was due to ceiling drywall falling down the drain. Julio said the line was plugged and just needed to be cleaned out.

 + -1 moreWe only got the estimate and it was too high. They offered to do the job for $285, we had someine lese comlpete the job for $110. They also wanted to work that was not neccasary. They were polite and professional. it was just too much for a simple job that took 30min.

 + -1 moreThe main water pipe into my house pulled apart due to the drought around 8:00 pm on a weeknight. I called Chavez Plumbing and received voicemail. I left my information, and my call was returned promptly (a little after 8:00 am) the next morning. The person on the phone was curteous and asked if I was still in need of their services. She set up an appointment for that morning. I received a phone call when the plumbers were on their way, and they arrived as scheduled. They were quick, professional, and willing to help with a few extra things (toilet flapper and clogged tub drain) while they were here. The price was reasonable, and I am happy with the results. I was also very impressed that they were willing to provide service quite a distance from their home office.
Description of Work: Repaired a broken pipe, replaced a toilet flapper, and cleaned out a drain.

 + -1 moreI called them around 8:30 am and they said they would have someone available to help between Noon and 4 p.m. They would call and let me know when a plumber became available before sending them out. I got a call about 11:30 stating someone would come within 45 minutes. They arrived before the 45 minutes and went right to work. I have a sign next to my front door asking people to remove their shoes in my entry. The workers respected my wishes without my asking verbally and only wore their shoes outside. The workers spoke good English, were respectful, worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves. I had an Angie's List coupon for 10% off total services, which they honored. Chavez Plumbing has a policy that if there are any problems within 30 days of service, they will come back out and fix the problem. That gave me extra peace of mind.
Description of Work: I had two sinks in my master bathroom that would not drain. I also had a slow draining sink in another bathroom upstairs. He unstopped the sinks in the master and made the slow draining sink drain faster.

 + -1 moreMr. Chavez arrived as scheduled, inspected the problem and diagnosed it as a leaking lead drain pipe in the exterior wall of the kitchen which was causing water to puddle on the adjacent patio during prolonged use of the kitchen faucet or dishwasher. He estimated the time and cost and process, which I approved. He and his crew then cut away the sheetrock under the sink, cut the pipe in question and replaced it with a new large PVC pipe. He brought me the damaged pipe which had two holes in it and showed me how soft the lead had gotten over the years. He then tested the repair, carefully cleaned up the kitchen floor and told me to call if I had any recurrence of the problem or questions. The price was as expected and the job was done immediately with no residual mess for me to clean up. I will call Chavez Plumbing again if I have plumbing problems in the future.

 + -1 moreThe two plumbers were very professional and polite. The quality of their work was excellent and they meticulously cleaned up after themselves and took all the garbage with them. The price was exactly what was quoted over the phone before I scheduled the work. I was charged $145 per set of faucets. I thought the price was reasonable for the amount of time they spent and the good job they did. Plus, I got 10% off by using my Angie's List coupon! My only complaint is a minor one. They didn't show up when I was expecting them so I called. That's why I gave them a "B" on Punctuality. They said there had been a death in the family when I had made the appointment which had distracted them. So they didn't have me on their calendar. However, they had their guys over in about 40 minutes after my call so I really can't complain too much. Overall I'm a very satisfied customer and will use them again.

 + -1 moreI called and spoke with Mr. Chavez. He explained that he was going to have a short day because of a death in the family but could be here in about 20-30 minutes if that time was convenient. That was great . He arrived on time,. He installed the water filter and cleared the drain quickly and neatly. I mentioned thaI found him on Angie's List and had a coupon and he said he didn't even need it, (no problem here as with another service company that did not want to accept a coupon). He was very pleasant. I will definitely use him again for all my plumbing and installations - everything he does. I have a hand-held shower head w/filter that I ordered and should be here any day so I will have him back very soon. Thank you Angie's List for recommending this Company. I have used many different plumbing companies in the last ten years and he is by far the best.

 + 0 moreBased on the reviews of others, we were so excited to have this company help us. When we called the office, the lady who answered the phone really went out of her way to help us. We needed to have a whole-house water filtration/softener system hooked up, of which we have bought and is sitting in our home. We understand plumbers shy away from these systems. The owner came by as agreed, looked at everything and told us he had never installed these before, but that he would check some details out and call us back that same day. He was leaving town that weekend, but that he or his brother would call us to get the price and installation date set. We have heard nothing, not a call, an e-mail. We are very disappointed.
