There was what appeared to be a slow leak in the front yard. Turns out the leak was between the house and the city water meter. It was slow leak. It did not affect water pressure in the house, and since no water surfaced, it apparently had been going on for a long time unnoticed. The leak had soaked the soil under the whole front flower bed before water started to appear on the surface. Knowing that I needed a reputable plumber, I scoured Angie's List and settled on Chavez Plumbing after studying reviews of several companies. The receptionist who took my call in the late morning of August 12 was polite and the company was responsive. She called me 20 minuted before the crew came to the house. I met with the plumbing specialists in the late afternoon, and they investigated the source of the leak. They dug down about two feet, and surmised that the main water line was leaking probably at a point where the sprinkler system connected to it. After discussing two options, I decided to replace the main water line and arranged to have the work done the next day. The crew showed up the next morning. The crew dug down about two feet deep to reroute and replaced 30 feet of piping. Part of the piping went under the sidewalk. Instead of cutting through concrete, the crew created a tunnel under the sidewalk and was able to install the piping without damaging the sidewalk. The crew installed 30 feet of copper piping covered with a protective sheath, connected the piping to the house and the water meter, and added a cut-off valve to make it easy to shut off water to the house. They checked to make sure water ran in the house correctly. The crew filled in the trench, replaced the grass and cleaned up the driveway. Despite digging a 30 foot long trench, the crew kept the work site neat. The work took about 6-7 hours. The crew was polite and professional. Chavez Plumbing applied the Angie's List 10& discount, which actually helped my budget quite a bit as this was an unexpected expenditure. The amount spent, shown above, included a tip for the crew.

They figured out the problem was immediately when others could not. They were excellent to work with. They were courteous and exceptionally clean.

Chavez Plumbing are good, honest people that do quality work. I had low pressure problems in my house and several plumbers recommended replacing the water supply line AND redoing all of my plumbing. Chavez came by, recommended only replacing the supply line and that did the trick. They were fast, left the work area clean, and very professional.

Mr. Chavez came out on labor day and fixed a leak from the outside sprinkler system. He fixed the sprinkler and the leak problem and corrected the problem to prevent this problem from happening again. We are very pleased with his work and most appreciative!

With their experience, they must know the problem was trivial. They went ahead and fix the problem without giving me a quote first. I felt being cheated. FROM THE RESPONSE, I FELT THAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY ARROGANT AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF "CUSTOMER SERVICE". WHY DO THEY HAVE TO CHARGE $65 WITHOUT SERVICE (ONLY ESTIMATE), WHILE EVERYONE PROVIDES FREE ESTIMATE? THERE ARE MANY OTHER GOOD SERVICE PROVIDERS AVAILABLE.

He was early and they called before they came to do the initial work as well as today. They came out this morning and finished up the work. They replaced a hose on the outside for free that started leaking last night. He knows a lot about plumbing. He was very courteous and polite. He even showed me his plumber ID to verify he was from that company. He said to call if there are any problems. He wanted to make sure I was safe before he left and made sure I was able to lock the gate before he left. He definitely went the extra step to take care of me.

They were able to get to us quickly (same day) and did a fantastic job. They are responsive and knew exactly what needed to be done and they were quick. I will definitely call Chavez for future plumbing jobs.

Vicky, the receptionist, was knowledgeable and responsive to my initial call. Mr. Chavez came to my house at the appointed time and did a thorough examination of the plumbing issues that I had. He was clear, patient, and succinct in his explanations. We set a date for the service and a time window for them to arrive. They were almost an hour later than they said they would be, which caused some problems for us. However, once they got started, they demonstrated a level of unparalleled professionalism. They were efficient and excellent.

He was able to come out on a weekend and fix the problem. He was very reasonable and a good guy.

When I went to water my yard on Sunday evening, I found my flower bed and half of my yard standing in water. The water seemed to be bubbling up from the slab area of the house. During the past 3 to 4 years I have not be satisfied with the plumbing company I had used for 20 years, so I looked at those available on Angie's List and chose Chaves Plumbing Inc. based on their great reviews. Thank you Angie!! Marcus and his assistant arrived early Monday morning and within 20 minutes or so they had carefully removed the shrubbery next to the house, dug down and found the problem, and had given me a quote. A little less than an hour later, they had completed the job, replanted my shrubs, and had my yard looking like nothing had ever happened to it. Marcus, the crew member whom I had contact with, was both courteous and very professional. I have definitely found a new company to take care of my plumbing needs!!

This company was great to work with. They were very responsive to my initial call. The crew was very knowledgeable and professional. They were even able to fix a leak that a previous company couldn’t, which I really liked. I really liked how they listened to what I said and didn’t talk down to me at all. There prices were very reasonable for the quality of work that you receive. I would use this company again. They are my new favorite plumbers.

They arrived promptly and were very courteous. They look at the problem and said that the valve needed to be replaced. After they replaced the valve, they also did some additional work that was needed on the vent. Everything is in fine working order now.

Marcos and Isreal arrived on time. Accessed what needed to be repaired. They got to work on everything, cleaned up everything and were finished in about 2 1/2 hours. They even put up with my dog Cookie who tried to help them!! Very conscientious and I felt very comfortable having them in my home.

Discovered the leaks in the attic on Sunday, called Chavez the next morning. They answered the phone immediately, and had someone here within the hour. They checked the two leaks, and had to leave to get some pipe to repair the water line in the attic. They were back in no time, and completed both jobs quickly and efficiently. The repair involved cutting out a piece of ceiling sheetrock in two rooms. They cleaned up the sheetrock mess before they left. The only problem, which I didn't see before they left, was that in getting in and out of the attic, one of them must have sat on one of the light cans in the attic right inside the attic stairs. We didn't notice until later in the day that the can had been bent. I haven't called them regarding the bent can, but hopefully we can get up in there and straighten it out over a weekend, after the weather cools down. That aside, the plumbing work was excellent, and the price was fair.

I am very satified with the job they did. The pipe as it emerges from the ground is beautiful.

I have two Rheem tankless water heaters running in parallel. They have been functioning off and on since I had them installed back in January (6months prior to this review). I called Chavez Plumbing, based on the AL reviews, to hopefully get them working once and for all. Mr. Chavez showed up earlier than first prescribed, but called ahead to make sure it was ok(++). I described my problem, and even though he deals only with Noritz (sp?) tankless heaters, went through the Rheem manual to troubleshoot my heaters. After being on the phone with Rheem quite a while, he measured gas flow to the heaters, and concluded that the meter was providing very sporadic gas flow, and needs to be replaced. Bad news is now I have to deal with Centerpoint Energy (not my favorite customer service) Good news is Chavez Plumbing provided excellent service at a very reasonable price. Oh, and he unclogged the sink on the house.

Chavez Plumbing always literally saves my life. (I have used them 3-4 times over 8 years.) I discovered one Saturday morning, early, that I had a leak of some sort in my attic that was causing a ceiling disaster in my guest bathroom. With the help of my next door neighbor, he was able to determine the leak was indeed from a water line in my attic that had a steady drip, drip, drop. My neighbor (God bless him, too) was able to turn off the water from the city line until I could contact a plumber. I immediately called Chavez and they just happened to be in my neighborhood on a job. (The stars were really lining up today.) They said they would be over within 1-2 hours. Well, they were over in about 20 minutes. Bonifacio (Boni) and his assistant went right to work after my neighbor showed them the problem he had discovered. The workers were here for several hours and replaced about 5.5 feet of pipe. They informed me they needed to replace 5 feet of pipe and gave me a verbal cost estimate of $585 and confimed I was okay with the price before they proceeded. I gave them the go ahead. At one point, they had to go to a plumbing store (mind you, not a Lowe's or Home Depot, and this was a Saturday) to get a part, but were back quickly. Although they were here over the lunch hour, they did not break for lunch. When they were done, they said that they had to install an extra 1/2 foot of pipe, but did not charge me extra. They did recommned changing out all of our water lines soon (our house is a 1958 home) and we will do further research on doing this as we have had several issues over the last 4 years with our plumbing. I would not hesitate (and have not hesitated) to use Chavez Plumbing again. They are my "go to" plumbers. Experience tells me plumbers are never inexpensive, but when you need them, and they respond quickly, and they get the job done, then they are worth every penny.

They had a death in the family and had to come out the next day, but I've been using them so long and didn't mind holding on the wash for another day. They came out and went right to work. Finished up in about half an hour. Quick and effective.

They dug ditches, installed new high quality piping. When there was a minor issue the next day, they came out and made sure everything was working smoothly. Very respectful at all times.
