We had water slowly leaking from one of our two water heaters, which are located in the attic. We called Chavez Plumbing, who we had used before for some smaller repairs. Two workers arrived within a couple of hours of our call to install a new water heater. They covered the carpet with tarps to avoid getting it dirty when they were taking the old heater out. They were done in about three hours and everything works well. The only criticism I have (and it's a big one) is the cost. I wish I had done more research before hiring this company. Angie's List has a section that contains answers to questions like "how much should X cost"? From reading the answers to "how much should it cost to install a new water heater", I gleaned (after the fact) that the most commonly-cited costs were less than $1,000. Next time, I'll shop around more.

Prompt service provided on a Saturday afternoon. As promised, Mr. Chavez arrived about an hour after we called him. He worked quickly to clear the drain and replace some damaged piping. The $140 fee included the Angie's List 10% discount. Fee was reasonable for prompt and professional service on a Saturday.

On May 14, 2013 Mr. Chavex came to discuss my problem and provide an estimate. I had received an estimate of $2083.00 to repair sewer line up to 5 feet from the clean out due to tree roots clogging the line. The company providing the estimate also used a camera. I was suspicious of this estimate. After our talk Mr. Chavez & I agreed that the best way to identify precisely where the problem lay was to use the camera again. The following day a crew arrived and used the camera with me observing. They found no obstructions within my line all the way to the city sewer line. They and I agreed that the only thing we saw was a coupling that was 5 feet from the entry point and absolutely nothing was wrong with it. The charge for the use of the camera and their service was $225.00. I gladly paid them and highly recommend them to everyone. They are now my plumber of choice. Honest, professional and prompt.

I had an outstanding experience with them. The only issue I had was when I needed them to communicate the breakdown of the pricing with me. They were very punctual.

Great job! Mr. Chavez thoroughly checked out the odd knocking sound, and didn't "invent" a problem to fix. He said it might be plastic pipe making the tapping sound, but that there was no leak at present. Such a relief! And NO invented problems! I moved into a newly remodeled home and bought a brand new fridge, except the kitchen did not have water line for the refrigerator. I got on Angie's List in search of a quality plumber and decided to call Chavez Plumbing based on their reviews. I called them and left a message. I got a response within an hour on a Friday evening, and the guys showed up on time the next day, on a Saturday. They performed good work in a very timely manner! I believe the price was just right for the amount of time and work done. The final price was exactly what the estimate was. Will definitely call them for future plumbing services!

I work for a small company without a maintenance staff. So when I discovered a leak underneath the sink in the ladies room, I researched Angies List for plumbers and Chavez Plumbing had a great rating and a lot of reviews. We were not disappointed. They were easy to schedule, showed up on time, were polite and fixed the problem. What more could you ask for? I really don't know how much it cost since I didn't see the bill. I do know that they honored the Angies List coupon.

It went well. They were very responsive, they were quick with an estimate and it was very easy to schedule them to come out and do the job, so we didn't have to wait very long for them to come out.

The job was perform as emergency so I expected to pay a little more but the in-sink disposable cost almost 3 time what I would pay for it at Lowes. Overall the did a great job and clean up after themselves. I would use them again and would reccomend them to freiend and family

Prompt, courteous, punctual. But like all plumbers in my experience, the charges were disproportionate to the time spent (about 15 - 20 minutes) or the difficulty of the job. Overall, a reliable outfit, however. I would use them again.

They were johnny on the spot and seemed to do well. They are courteous and efficient. To the best of their ability they show up as quickly as they can. They show up when they say they are going to. When I like someone I like to visit with them and these guys not only did a good job on the plumbing but on the social aspect too.

For weeks we had had a bad odor in the house and we had no clue it was a gas leak until one Saturday morning my husband opened the attic door and the smell about blew us away. We immediately got on Angie's list and called several plumbers. Everyone we contacted was booked and we had a 4-5 hour wait. Chavez plumbing was scheduled for that afternoon, but Mr. Chavez arrived 3 hours early. Immediately,. he knew we had a gas leak and went into the attic and within minutes discovered the exact location of the leak. Within 15 the problem was fixed. Mr. Chavez was professional and courteous. We will definitely use Chavez plumbing in the future.

Came out next day and replaced quickly. Professional, punctual, and friendly describe their business. Highly recommended...

Boni and Jonathan were fast, friendly and efficient. They actually solved the problem and we could again wash our clothes without having to worry about a stopped up drain causing a flood. Last fall, we had called another plumber on Angie's List and when he came out, he used his snake and then told us he would have to cut through the sheet rock to find the problem. We didn't agree to the complex process and we were charged nearly the same amount Chavez Plumbing charged us, and the drain pipe was still clogged. That's why it took us so long to call another plumber. We are so glad we called Chavez! No beating around the bush, no suggesting far-out and unnecessary plumbing and sheet rock repairs. The Chavez team went to work and fixed the problem. And now I'm a very satisfied customer and will not hesitate to call or to refer Chavez Plumbing to repair any plumbing problems around our home.

Technician was courteous, professional and took care of the problem without trying to up-sell me anything. Job was done quickly and the price was very reasonable. Have used three other well-known Houston plumbing companies over the last 10 years and always felt taken advantage of after they left. I think we have a new plumber! Thanks, Chavez!

They did a great job. Arrived when they said they would and proceed to fix my issues.

I had already installed the faucet and had tried to do the rest but the tight quarters under the pedestal sink were giving me a hard time. So I decided to go ahead and call someone for an estimate. When I called to request installation yesterday, the soonest available would be today between 12-2 which worked out great so I could go home at lunch. I was about to hang up when I realized I hadn't gotten any kind of estimate for work-if it was going to be $500 I might as well just call someone else. Since I had used Chavez before for an estimate and they came out for free last time, I thought it would be the same but apparently there is now a $65 fee just for coming out. When I asked if she could give a number for what she thought it might cost, she said they would have to see it and since I had already installed some of it, it would probably be less but the amount for a faucet install was $165. I took my chances and thought ok-so about $130ish or so...not exactly fair for installing a faucet(very easy to do), but I didn't have the time and had tried unsuccesfully to get the connection off already. They called before and gave me an estimate of how long they would be and they arrived a little bit after that time. There were 2 guys that came, not the same ones I had met before, and they took a look at the issue. After speaking with someone over the phone, he came back with a quote of $185 which I immediately said no and was expecting some back and forth on. Instead they went outside and had another conversation over the phone came back in and handed me the bill for $65. At this time I asked if they would negotiate to which he again got on the phone and had me speak with the lady I had talked to to schedule the day before. She then asked to speak to the guy again and he handed the phone back to me to let me know that he didn't tell me the actual price was $225 and he already gave me a discount...I said no that wasn't explained and $185 for just a piece of the install is not worth it. So I paid the ridiculous $65 to get them out of the house and will never try to do any business with them again.

The plumbers were on time, and did a thorough job on the aerator and commode handle. In the process of trying to replace the filter attached to a kitchen faucet, part of the mechanism was broken. They offered to replace the entire faucet, at no charge to me, which I thought was quite generous and professional. In the end they were able to get the faucet to work, so no replacement needed. A job well done!

They arrived on time, gave me an estimate, removed the toilet in the master and left for 45 minutes to get a part. They put a snake in hall bathroom but never used it. Then came back to inform me that the house was built wrong and they needed use a jackhammer to fix it. Ruin the tile but they could send a company they knew to fix the tile. That would of cost me over $1000. When I refused their work they left me with ruined tile , seal not flush to floor and the smell of sewer that is still lingering through the house. Would not recommend to anyone.

We had an emergency plumbing problem late on a Friday afternoon after a dishwasher installer broke our home's emergency water shutoff valve during the installation. The installer was useless in fixing the problem, so we called Chavez, who we'd used previously and were satisfied. Chavez showed up at 5pm on a Friday night and fixed our home's problem in less than 30 minutes. In doing so, we were able to get our running water back. We were hosting guests that weekend and Chavez saved the day. I would recommend these guys to anyone. This is what a good contractor looks like.

Called the 27th at 6pm, said they would try to come next day, and did come at 4 pm next day. Service quick, and professionally done, price reasonable.

We had severe sewer gas coming into our home. We called a friend who works for a very expensive plumbing company come over and cap off a toilet and clean out the pea trap in a shower as a friend job not a company job. Still experiencing a STRONG, foul odor, he said we needed to have our outside sewer drains cleaned but he did not have the proper equipment. Could not live with the horrid odor and started calling around on a Saturday morning finding it hard to locate a plumber who could arrive on the same day. Most cost estimates came in around $350 to clean out two drains. Joined Angie's list and found Chavez plumbing. They answered their phones immediately, told me they had the proper equipment and could be at my home in less than two hours. Cost estimate for cleaning 2 outside drains: $285. He arrived within an hour! He investigated my drains, ran water through them and told me the drains were fine. After checking all plumbing fixtures, cleaned the smelly mess the other 'friend' plumber left on the shower floor with lysol and flushed the shower drain with lots of water and lysol. He even fixed a faucet that was making a horrid noise. Chavez plumbing did a thorough check of my outside sewer drains, flushing them with water. Told me that my drains did not need cleaned out and the expense was not necessary. Cleaned the other plumbers mess and unfinished work AND fixed a faucet for $65! I will definitely call this plumber again!
