"First I'd like to tell the customer we sincerely apologize and I am very appreciative of his comments. Unfortunately, no matter how hard you try, sometimes someone will fall through the cracks, and I'm afraid that is what happened here. I don't want to sound like I am making excuses, because I'm absolutely not. We take full responsibility for not responding appropriately to the customer, but I would like to explain what happened. In fairness, I want to first say that the customer was working with Ronnie in our office, not Larry. The reason this is important is because shortly after Ronnie met with the customer, he came down with the flu and was out for several days. He asked one of the other salespeople to give the customer a call and tell them that he was still trying to find a matching tile, which was done, however, when Ronnie returned to work, unfortunately, he apparently was playing catch up and the tile match search did fall through the cracks. We feel absolutely horrible that this has happened, but no matter how hard you try to do your best, things do sometimes go wrong. I hope that the customer has found the matching tile and is happy with his new flooring. I also hope that he will give us another chance someday to show him that this is not really our normal business etiquette."
Both crews very experienced with many years in the flooring industry. They explained each step, moved furniture, cleaned up every day. When they finished the floors looked very good. They brought in a door company to install new thresholds and weather seals, i found this to be very reasonable in price.
All in all a very good experience and will use them in the future.
We had a few weeks wait before the work could be done due to availability of the specific flooring selected. Options were provided available flooring but decided to go with our primary selection as timing was not critical.
Upon receipt of the materials we were notified and the work completed in just a couple of days. The crews were very efficient and the quality of work very good.
I would recommend them to anyone in the market for floor coverings.
One thing -- we didn't anticipate how chaotic, loud and DUSTY the process would be -- which is our issue, not theirs. Breathing in the wood dust has bothered our allergies quite a bit, but not much they could do about that.
We did have to rearrange a few things and re-connect the headboard to the queen-size bed in one room (wasn't done correctly or tightly enough to keep it steady), but not a big issue. They offered to buy and install furniture pads on the bottom of the furniture so we could move it easily across the wood floors, and that's been a big help, but one piece of furniture is wobbly as a result, so we'll need to fix that.
They were professional and friendly, worked quickly and cleaned up when the job was completed. The floor-repair expert who came the following day was very nice and professional, and did an outstanding job in replacing the damaged section of floor.
Our salesman, Ronnie, was great -- he kept us informed and made sure everything was going well.
We would definitely hire this company again.
Finally, the good people of Buffalo Floor Covering came to my rescue. I spoke to Scott from Buffalo Floor Covering on June 28th. I told him that I was taking time off July 2 through July 5 and was hoping at least to get an estimate of my repair somewhere in that time period. I decided to include a repair of some transition pieces in our home that needed attention. Scott told me that he'd see to it and he did! On Monday, I received a call from John, who had time that very day to come over and review the job. We met and made a plan to get things handled the very next day, July 3rd. He gave me a great estimate, $175 and let me know that it might be a little more if the materials he needed cost more than he thought they would.
On July 3rd John showed up early and asked if that was ok. Of course I said YES!! He worked diligently to get everything handled. He was not only very expert in his work but also lovely to visit with. When he was done he showed me the work, which was superb! and told me that the materials were a little more than expected but only charged a few dollars more for them. I was so happy with the work and the overall experience that I gave John $250.
I highly recommend the team at Buffalo Floor Covering for their expertise, professionalism, and integrity.
One comment worth adding for people getting new tile in your house. Be sure to cover everything up with sheets or plastic. Even with all of the cutting being done outside, there was still a good bit of dust that accumulates on uncovered areas.
"Unfortunately, sometimes a salesman will drop the ball and not give the best customer service. For this, we are extremely sorry and have apologized to this customer for our lack of promptness. We have also reviewed our customer service policy with the salesperson involved to hopefully prevent this from happening again. In fairness to our salesman, he was under the impression that the consumer was not in a hurry for the floor, and had left a message with our vendor to try to get the best pricing possible to pass on the savings to the customer. Therefore, the quote was not available until the vendor's rep responded to his call a couple of days later. Of course, we hate to receive any kind of response from a customer like this and we have discussed improved, prompt customer response with our entire sales staff."
"After investigation of this claim, none of our sales people remember making this appointment. Since it was apparently made in August, and the report not posted until the end of November, it is difficult to know what happened here. This is totally out of character for our sales people. I wish the customer would have called again the next day to give us a chance to make this right. We pride ourselves on our customer service and we are devastated by a claim such as this appointment being missed and never receiving a chance to make it right. Mistakes do happen on occasion and if this happened as the customer says, we sincerely apologize for our mistake. We would appreciate a second chance, and hope that this Angie's List consumer will give us another chance someday when further work is needed in her home."
