I placed an order on 01/04/14 for flowers to be delivered on Valentine's Day, 02/14/14 and got an email confirmation that they had received the order and that they would be delivered on the morning a.m. of 02/14. I had paid an extra $10 (a payment they labeled rush) to ensure they would be delivered in the morning. My significant other usually emails or calls me when flowers I send her arrive, but by noon, she had not confirmed that she had received the flowers. I contacted her and she said that no flowers had been delivered. I attempted to contact Breens Florist by email but their website stated that if you were checking on flowers, that you should wait 24 hours to confirm that the flowers were delivered. I also tried calling them but they were not accepting phone calls, but did leave a message that the flowers had not been delivered and would like a call back. I received an email from them around 8 p.m. that the flowers had been delivered, Wrong. The flowers had not been delivered. I phone the florist the next day and spoke with a customer service agent, and she checked and said they showed they had been delivered. I asked then who signed for them. She checked again with the delivery dept. and then stated that the flowers had not been delivered and they could deliver the flowers that day (the day after Valentine's). I told her no, that I did not order the flowers to be delivered the day after Valentine's. She then offered a refund and said she was sorry. If I had owned the business, then I would have offered not only to refund my money but provide me credit to utilize in my next order. Overall, if a business that specializes in providing flowers on special occassions, can not deliver or even accept emails or phone calls to help remedy any issues that may arise on the day of delivery, then they have lost my business for good. I would not recommend them unless you want to be disappointed.

My fiancand eacute; used Breen's to deliver roses on Valentine's Day. They did not arrive until after 11pm and the delivery person simply put them on the front porch without knocking so I found them the next day. After talking with them, Breen's apologized and suggested we meet with them to do our wedding flowers. I made an appointment with them today for 4pm with the woman who my fiancand eacute; spoke to. I checked in at 3:55 with the woman at the front desk and waited 20 minutes. When I finally found someone to remind them of my appointment, all they said was and quot;sorry, Marshal is swampedand quot;. So I left. I cannot risk them being late with my wedding flowers!

Breen's Florist delivered the wrong flowers on Valentine's Day. I ordered a bouquet online from Breen's via FTD specifically because it included daisies, which are a favorite of my wife. I understand that Breen's bouquets may not look exactly like the ones pictured on FTD's website, but the arrangement that we received contained no daisies and looked absolutely nothing like the one I paid for. Breen's responded to my issue same day and offered to replace the bouquet at a later date, but that defeats the intended purpose, especially since I paid extra for delivery on Valentine's Day. Unacceptable in my opinion for a business with over 50 years of experience.

Description of Work: After getting in trouble from me last Valentine's, my husband set out this year to purchase flowers that were from a terrific florist! All reviews indicated Breen's was an excellent and experienced company. My husband ordered two arrangements the day before Valentine's Day at approximately 9:00 AM to be delivered to me at different times on Valentine's Day. Breen's made no promise of times of deliveries, which my husband did not think was unusual because of the holiday. (He also dd not think it meant the evening.) The first bouquet was roses in a vase. They arrived with 90% of the blooms fully opened and looked as though they had been thrown into the vase with no thought, organization or arrangement. The roses looked old and had bruises on the petals. Though he ordered two dozens roses, there were only 18 roses. They were delivered about 6:30 PM. Calls to Breen's went unanswered. About 7:30 or 8:00 PM the second bouquet arrived. It was lovely, but very small (12 inches). There were stems of baby hydrangea, baby hyacinth, sweetheart roses and greenery. The aroma was lovely, as well. Had I not already been so disappointed by the first delivery, I would have loved the second, even though it was so small. I realize that part of the problem may have been the fact that it was Valentine's Day. If a florist is going to be in business, however, they should be prepared for holidays. The many orders should not come as a revolution to them, especially if they are experienced. Thrown together bouquets with bruised petals should not be delivered. Because of the late deliveries we were unable to go dinner! FYI...My husband also ordered two more bouquets from another florist within 15 minutes from the time he ordered from Breen"s, on the day before Valentine's Day. The other two arrangements were delivered at 8:00 AM on the 14th and I enjoyed them throughout the day.

I received some roses prepared by Breen's ordered through FTD. They were a pretty shade but, that was it. It arrived in a tiny, short vase. The roses were cut short to fit in the vase. They were not really "dressed" like a rose arrange me should be such as extra greenery, baby breath, a bow etc. They only lasted about 3 days. Needless to say I was disappointed. The arrangement look as if they ensured that they took every short cut possible. I don't recommend them.

Breen's did a good job overall and the flowers were well received. However, Breen's somehow got the delivery address wrong at first but this got corrected through e-mails. This would of course have been a problem if I had not carefully checked the e-mail receipt.

I called from South West Africa (Angola) where I am on assignment, on 09 November 2009, and spoke with Marcia Wilson. I explained I needed a special birthday bouquet of flowers for my wife's birthday and wanted it delivered to her in person at her work on 10 November. Miss Wilson was very professional, and helpful. I felt that I could trust her to put a bouquet together and include an appopriate card on my behalf. I gave her the message I wanted on the card. Miss Wilson was to select the flowers, without my guidance, and have it delivered first thing on the 10th. Right on time, an awesome bouquet was delivered to my wife at her work, and she was WOW'ed. My wife took a digital photo of it and her and sent it to me in Angola. The flowers are magnificent !

They never have failed--in more than 12 years--to deliver fresh arrangements on time. Recipients call and rave about the quality of the flowers: how long the arrangement lasts, how fragrant the flowers are, and how vivid the colors. Breen's is remodeling its long-time location on Holcombe Drive, so you can't walk in to order from that site, but the web site and the telephone work just great.
Description of Work: I have used Breen's Florist for many years for a multitude of friends and events. They prepare arrangements based on my financial limits as well as for the occasion. Their web site is extensive, and I can even pre-select what I want and call them.
