Bellaire Air Conditioning & Heating

They gave us a loner air conditioning unit for a month until we could get up and going. They completed the work in 2 days. They were professional, responsive and punctual. Their pricing was fair as well. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.

They were very close to my house. The company that I had been using previously suggested that I needed a new compressor. However they guy said that I didn?t need a new compressor but needed only a capacitor which was a lot cheaper than the compressor.

We phoned Bellaire based on all the great reviews here on Angie's List. They were VERY polite and easy to deal with. Also, they called to remind us about the service and when the repairman (Hunter) was running a tad late, he phoned and let me know he was late and also phoned when he was a few minutes out so I was ready. Hunter arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem as a clogged drain (as suspected) and also performed an overhaul on both our units. He was fantastic...polite, friendly and made several suggestions to include becoming a recurring member on their maintenance program (which we'll be signing up for in the Spring). We also had a 15% off coupon which Hunter applied to the service. The total bill came to $114.00 minus the discount to $97.00. I thought that was really reasonable as he was here for about an hour or so. Will definitely use them again!!

I called in the morning, and they arranged to have someone come out that afternoon. The technician came on time. So far so good. But he said he couldn't repair the unit then since it was frozen over. Said he'd come back later that day, but he never showed up and never called. Left me hanging all afternoon and evening, and left me with no air conditioning overnight. I called again the next morning, and got very fast response. They sent two different technicians and an owner's representative. And, to apologize for the problems of the previous day, they did the repair at no charge to me. I originally called this company based on the reviews on Angie's List, which show this company gives good service. And their response with me to correct their initial problem shows they really do care about good service and are willing to stand behind that way of doing business, even when they initially make a mistake. I am very satisfied and highly recommend them.

My home has 2 HVAC systems, and the 20 year old compressor for the back (smaller) section of my home died. I discussed the cost of repairs to the old compressor with my service tech and we both agreed that to invest the money into an outdated system made little sense. I asked for information about an effecient, economical solution that would maximize both my budget and long-term savings over a 10 year period. My technician provided me with some basic suggestions and ballpark figures to mull over and said he would have president of company design system and prepare bid for my review. I discussed several options with president and agreed upon the Trane XL15i - an excellent 15 SEER system using R14a refrigerant and variable speed fan to achieve environmental and economic savings. Install team was expert, professional, fast, clean - all one could hope for. President of company came by site after install complete to check and t discuss system with me. This is the type of service and personal care that I have come to expect from Bellaire AC and why I will recommend to all who need HVAC services. Within the week, my regular service tech came by to make sure everything was running smoothly and that I was satisfied. He checked out the install in the attic as well as the outdoor unit and confirmed all looked good and was running smoothly. I have been extremely satisfied - the new Trane system is achieving all performance and cooling goals with less operating noise and lower electric usage. The only issue I had was that the president of company did not know that my system was completely down and non-functional. That did not translate back to him from the service reports. He believed that a temporary fix had been made. Thus the time between reporting the failure and the installation (the time I was without AC in the back of my home) was longer than optimal. Had he known, Bellaire AC would have made whatever temp repairs/replacement necessary to provide me with service until new system installed. I was given a price discount to help ease the discomfort caused by the loss of service during my wait. As I have stated, Bellaire AC made this horrible experience as pleasant as possible. I never want to have HVAC problems, and when I do, I am very thankful that Bellaire AC is my service company because I know that they will do everything in their power to get my service back online as quickly as possible at a very fair cost. I highly recommend their services.

Our central air went out in the night while we were out. We returned to a warm house, with the A/C working but only blowing warm air. We suffered through a night with inside temps in the mid 80's. While my wife and 6 month old were trying to sleep, I joined Angie's List and looked up someone to service our unit. I picked Bellaire based on the many good reviews. I called first thing in the morning, and the polite gentleman on the phone told me that someone was actually already at my condominium complex working on someone else's unit. Charlie gave me a call when he was done with the other unit and came right over. I described the problem to him, he quickly diagnosed a defective capacitor, gave me the estimate, and had a new one in and working w/in ten minutes. He checked the freon levels, explained everything he was doing, and answered my questions respectfully and in a way I could understand. When I mentioned we had a new baby, he was thoughtful enough to recommend using a high quality air filter to remove allergens until my son was a year old (something I'm already doing). He even took his shoes off when he came inside! I had him look at a few more things that had come up in regards to the A/C unit when we moved in a two years ago, and he gave me some great advice on what needed doing, how much it would be, and if and when it needed to be done. I'd gotten an estimate on all of the work last year from a different company (ARS), and the price was well over $400, but Charlie said none of it needed doing right away, if at all. The other company was more than willing to do the work. Charlie said as he was leaving, "I'd rather do what I can to fix the problem as efficiently as possible for a smaller price, than pad my wallet and do work that doesn't need to be done." I believe him. I'll be calling Bellaire in the future for all of my heating/cooling needs. Highly recommended!

I called Bellaire Air Conditioning based on reviews from Angies List. I scheduled them to do a spring service on 3 AC units. We haven't lived in the house a summer yet and I was unfamiliar with the equipment so I wanted to have someone look it over. Bellaire AC called when they were on their way and showed up when they were supposed to. Their technician was very courteous, he checked the units in the attic, the return air vents, and then the outdoor units. He answered all of my questions about the system and cleaned the coils which had gotten quite clogged up from debris from a cottonwood tree. He also called the following day to make sure the changes he had made to the system settings were working. I ended up signing up for their annual plan so the price I paid includes a fall furnace checkup as well. The tech also mentioned they were all salaried employees as opposed to some other AC companies, those techs. are much more likely to recommend repairs you don't need to pad their compensation in my opinion.

In 45 min. they evaluated the problem and fixed it.

They took care of everything very promptly. On multiple occasions, they have come to check out our air conditioning units whenever I've encountered problems with it. They always make sure everything else is running smoothly after they fix the initial problem. Their price was a bit higher but they gave me a 15% discount. I'm very pleased with their services.

When my A/C went out, I found Bellaire A/C on Angie's List. They came when they said they would and were very professional. The only thing I didn't like was that two of the (very courtious) workers that came in the evening to reinstall the compressor, drug a lot of mud into the house. I understand that at the end of a long day the workers wanted to go home, however they could have been much more careful / cognizant of the mud.

I wasn't able to call until 10AM the next morning. The gentleman who answered the phone was very nice and assured me that someone would be out to take a look at the problem later that day. Not only was someone here by 2PM but called before coming so that I didn't have to miss a day of work waiting for them to come. The technician who came not only quickly found the problem but checked the rest of the system as well as giving me some needed information about cooling houses in general.

This was a small job but it was carried out well. I will certainly use the company again.

On time. Answered all questions. Found a small problem but told me that it could easily wait until next year to fix. I liked them so much after two visits that I signed up for the annual maintenance contract.

Clean, courteous, non-smoking gentleman arrived on time and proceded to diagnose the problem. Was willing to explain what he was doing and didn't seem to mind my interest. Checked every possibility and finally identified faulty thermocouple. Explained to my satisfaction why this caused the symptoms I was expeiencing. Did not have part in truck but was able to locate one and was back within an hour to finish repairs. All worked like it should. No complaints.

They had a great price and fabulous service. Four months later, when I had a minor issue, Mr. Miller was immediately responsive. During the installation, they went way above any expectation in dealing with the city of West University on permitting issues. I highly recommend them for value and service.

I had a great experience with Bellaire. Both the upstairs & downstairs furnaces for my house stopped working at the same time (or one went out, the other made up for it, then it went out). Another company quoted $6k, saying that both needed to be replaced. I told the guy from Bellaire about my first quote; he checked it out & gave me a completely different and cheaper analysis. Turns out the downstairs heater only needed the pilot light to be relit, and the upstairs only needed a $700 or so repair (this after seeing the $6k estimate and having the opportunity to really screw me over). The person servicing me (Charlie) was professional, he explained what the problem was, showed me the broken part & even went around the house showing me which direction to open up the airvents to get the best heating/cooling for the lowest price. I would definitely go with Bellaire again.

Rusty was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and professional. The workers were also great in every way. They had to work around a lot of other people(flooring, painting, etc...), but never complained. They answered all of our questions, kept us up to date on the progress, and made us feel very comfortable. When the job was finished, the owner actually came out to inspect the job. When something wasn't as expected, they explained the situation and fixed it perfectly. They gave us a discount for paying cash(what their credit company would have charged them)which we didn't actually expect and we were very happy to hear. Overall, it took about 3 days to complete the installation. I almost wish we had more AC's to install so we could work with them again!

This work was done in August 2008. We chose Bellaire Air Conditioning from Angie's List and were not disappointed. Rusty Miller was knowledgeable and concerned for our comfort in the hottest part of the summer. We might have gotten a lower estimate elsewhere, but we believe that quality work costs more. We are very satisfied.

We are very, very pleased with our experience with Bellaire. From the initial phone call through to start-up and the final walk-through all our dealings with Bellaire were very positive. We solicited 5 bids for this project and Bellaire's proposal stood out as the most professional and comprehensive of all the estimates. We felt that Rusty Miller really listened to our concerns and needs, and took those into consideration when proposing solutions to our problems. Something Bellaire had in their proposal that wasn't in any of the others was a detailed explanation of what the work entailed and why. As someone who is not very mechanically inclined and knows nothing about HVAC, I appreciated the educational information! The installation crew was experienced and very respectful of our home and belongings. I liked that the workers doing the installation are employees of Bellaire, not subs. Rusty was also on-site for at least part of each day, double checking to make sure things were done to his expectations. My husband and I feel we got a very fair price, especially considering the quality of the work. Our final price included the 10% Angie's List discount and an additional discount for paying by check upon completion of the job. We're happy to have found Bellaire and will rely on them for all our heating and cooling needs. We have no reservations at all recommending this company!
