Do not use this company. This man came out and said that he thought the heater was not wired correctly. Interesting since it has worked just fine for 10 years and has never had a problem. The heater was coming on intermittently but after he rewired the heater it never came on again. My adult son was there. The owner Bennie, said he would be back the next day with a new blower motor. He came back with a used heater in his truck and proceeded to pound it out as my son witnessed. He went up in the attic and proceeded to put it in, turned it on and there was a loud pop and it went out. He told my son that he would have to try to find another part--that it was hard to find. It is a Carrier unit and parts are easily accessible. I called the warranty company and explained that I had been dealing with this for a couple of weeks, my heater still was not repaired during freezing weather and that Bennie was incompetent. They said that they would have to wait for Bennie's report. They called Bennie and the following Monday Bennie called me and said the whole air handling until would need to be replaced. I called another company that I had used before and I knew were honest. They came out immediately and found that
Bennie put in a 115 V blower motor and my heater required a 220V blower motor
Bennie put in a 3/4 horse power motor and my heater required a 1/2 horse power motor
Bennie had actually filed down the housing to make the motor fit.
The new company put in the proper motor and the heater is working fine now but the aux heat is not coming on and that is probably because the relay was fried with the improper motor that was installed.
I would not ever use this company or the warranty company again. A copy of the report was sent to the warranty company.
