First off -- I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. We WILL NOT ever use them again. Total project time took 3 1/2 weeks from first dig until final sprinkler was installed. When the crew came out to do the sprinkler system install they were nice and respectful. However, we only wanted sprinklers in the front yard and the crew had their machine digging a trench in the back yard. The blue prints the crew was working off of did not even show the correct location of my fence (this happened on both sides of my yard). Since the yard was already 1/2 trenched anyways, we decided to just go ahead and complete the back yard. Seems like they should review the final blue prints with home owner before starting to do any digging to make sure everything is right. Once the job was completed, the crew lead person did not explain the system to me (didn't speak great English), he said somebody would come back out to explain how everything worked. Well, that didn't happen until after we placed a few phone calls and a few work days passed. When they did come out they explained the system and make a few adjustments to the sprinklers so they were 'aimed' correctly. At that time we noticed that part of the yard was not covered by the installed sprinklers. The guy who came out told me that he would tell the owner and he would come out and make things right. Well, after quite a few more phone calls and MANY days we talked with owner (Mike) and he was going to send his crew out to install a few more sprinklers to cover remainder of the yard. When they came out, yes, they put in needed sprinklers… but they did not call ahead and have underground lines marked and they CUT MY VERIZON FIOS LINE!!!! This happened on a Thursday. At this time I have the owners personal cell phone number and I call him directly. He tells me that he 'has a guy' that can repair it, but to go ahead and call Verizon to see how soon they can come out and he would check with 'his guy'. Well Verizon says Monday afternoon at the earliest. I call and let owner know and of course he hasn't been able to get in touch with 'his guy'. Something tells me that he NEVER even tried to call 'his guy' because the owner never called us one way or the other. We always initiated contact to resolve this issue. So now we are without phone, internet, cable…. One week later we still have not heard from the owner and are still out phone, internet and cable. They also installed the backflow check valve box right smack dab in the front of the yard like it was on display. This is very unsightly and very easily could have been installed elsewhere in the yard as to not be such an eye soar. They were unwilling to move it… Let us not forget to mention the very rude lady PAM who answers their phone at the office. Very rude and short with my wife when she tried calling about these multiple issues. This company obviously does not value customer service. I caution you, use this company at your own risk, I WOULD NOT recommend them to do ANY work for my family, friends, or neighbors.

You would think choosing a company off of Angie's list would provide some kind of comfort but that was the furthest from the truth. This company has been a total nightmare to work with. They messed up the design on our system from the very beginning. We were only supposed to have the front yard done and before we knew it half of our backyard was dug up. We got a hold of their design and wonder how the **** they screwed that up!!! Anyway, the owner was supposed to come by Monday night after the installation... yup, never showed up never called. Tuesday I called the secretary and she said, "no one told me about that" so clearly it was not a priority to show back up. FINALLY we got someone out late Tuesday to look at the side yard because the sprinklers weren't covering the yard or anywhere close to covering it. The guy said, I kid you not, "The design should have never been approved this way." Well, that's comforting. He said that they were going to have to dig again and put new lines down to cover the area. That was Tuesday. It is Friday, no returned calls, no nothing. Absolutely nothing! This has been an awful experience for us. It makes me so afraid that if anything were to happen to this system could I or SHOULD I even depend on them to come out? Please stay away from American.
