I have used them twice before in the past and they do excellent work. They are right there when they say they are going to be there and help with colors, textures and whatever else you need. I will use them again in the future.

We are very pleased with the finished product. It did seem like they were quite busy, and there were some incidents of miscommunication during the process.

I called Allied Powder Coating in mid April to have my patio furniture refinished. They told me that they would be in the neighborhood that Thursday, and could pick it up then. The price quoted was $1080, plus $65 for pick-up and delivery. They said that the job would take about three weeks. I agreed to these terms. Initial pick-up was April 16th, with delivery to be May 7th per their work order. On May 13th, I called to find out when my furniture would be delivered. I was told that there was a problem, that they didn't have enough fabric to cover the chairs, and that they were waiting to receive it. On May 21st we received 4 of the 6 chairs and the chaise. They had broken the glass on the table, and had to order a new piece, so delivery of that was to be the following week, along with the two remaining chairs. On May 29th I was told that delivery would be the next week, now 7 weeks from the pick-up date. On June 4th I finally received the remaining furniture. Unfortunately, the quality of workmanship on our furniture was not what I was expecting at all. All of the pieces had rough spots on them where they appeared to not have been sand-blasted. One of the arms of a chair had a completely different finish than the others. The sewing of the slings was done poorly, and they were put on the frames crookedly. The paint had an "alligator" appearance on some of the pieces. The table appeared to have had a crow bar used to remove the glass (reason it broke?). The rubber gasket around the table had a "bulge" in it (which was never fixed, even after sending it back twice). Four of the six chairs tilted back so far that you felt as if you would fall over backward. I contacted them about the problems, and they pick-up the furniture on June 11th, and was told that the furniture would be fixed and delivered back to me on June 18th. I sent notes on each piece of furniture with the specific problems of each. On July 2nd I received back my chairs, no table. I was told that the paint needed more drying time. When I reminded them that they had had the table now for three weeks, I asked how long paint needs to dry. Apparently it takes three weeks, for on July 16th I received the table, which I sent right back because of the bulge in the gasket which I was requesting to be fixed. The tilt in the chairs was fixed, but nothing else. Two of the chairs had the tilt overcompensated to where they tilted forward. A foot on the chaise and an endcap to an arm of a chair were now missing. On August 6th I received the table, with the bulge still there. At this point I gave up trying to have that problem fixed. Ironically, the day before I had received a bill for the full amount, which I had already negotiated to be a lesser amount because of the extreme delays. I called and spoke to the manager of the company, and we agreed to a $150 reduction in cost, plus the delivery charge would be waived.

Overall, this was a very negative experience. It was supposed to be a 30 day turnaround. It took them from February to August to finish the job. They kept bringing the furniture back with problems. The workmanship was very poor. They never showed up on time and it was an absolute nightmare.

They did a superb job. They were able to find something to do with them so they didn't rust. What they put on there was a like a vinyl coating. They were able to help me keep them in good shape.

The paint job and slings looks fine but the plastic "feet" on the table were removed and not replaced, making it wobble. A call to the company about this was responded to by telling me to take a picture of the table legs and email it to them so they know what the right part to replace it with - too much trouble for me and what I consider bad service. Pickup and delivery of the furniture was inconvenient since they only go to most areas of town only once per week and the day for my area was not convenient for me.

I found there add in the paper. You can find something cheaper but thats what your going to get. All of their stuff is custom built. They are very great people to work with. Their price is very reasonable for custom built furniture. I highly recommend them.

Initially all seemed well. I was advised only after they picked up the furniture there were fixed delivery dates and times based upon your neighborhood (something that was waived later in my experience). Within two weeks, the delivery person began calling to schedule delivery. He operated off a script, but was pleasant. After two additional weeks, we agreed upon a delivery date and time--dictated by their schedule. Unfortunately, they delivered the wrong set. In the meantime, I began receiving calls from the collections department as I "hadn't paid yet" for my set. I spoke with the sales representative; he was apologetic and polite. This happens rarely. At least they appear to have little experience in tracking down errant sets. With the second delivery of a completed set--which was again the wrong one--we began to realize that someone had received the set and must not have noticed they had the wrong furniture. About this time came the second call from collections regarding my "failure to pay". Again, the accounts receivable had no idea my set was missing. Ultimately, the sales rep and I spoke of reimbursement for a replacement set. This took awhile to work out, but I am ultimately satisfied with the outcome. I hate to grade this company at a C, but can't quite come up with a "good" rating in terms of overall experience based upon slow response. They did fine from a service recovery standpoint. I would rather have been able to grade them based upon their work, and hope that another Angie's Lister weighs in. My recommendations to future customers: take photos of your set; get the name of the pickup person; know that you might be able to negotiate for a different delivery date; have your receipt from purchase in case of negotiating; on delivery of the completed product--really look at the set they bring you. After all this is said and done, I would consider using them again, given the steps I recommend above. They were truly nice in the end.

The furniture was picked up, and then brought back in about two weeks. Slings needed replacing and the metal was sandblasted and refinished. The furniture looks like new, and we couldn't have asked for better workmanship.
