Description of Work: Excellent service. I bought a service through Angies List to have a checkup on our AC, knowing that the result would probably be a pricey fix. The technician showed up promptly, was very professional, and reviewed the situation thoroughly. He approached us with 3 options priced out, we chose what we needed, and he returned less than a week later to complete the work. Best company I've ever worked with for housing repairs and I would definately recommend them.

Description of Work: All Star provided a very reasonable quote for my air conditioner, coil, furnace, and ducting replacement. The was very responsive and the team was very efficient and curteous. The owner came back to do a final walkthrough to make sure everything turned out well and even installed a wifi thermostat I purchased myself. I'd definitely use them again, especially for annual tuneups on my new system.

Description of Work: I signed up for a diagnostic A/C service with All Star since the cooling with A/C is clearly under-performed and the room temperature hardly go down 1~2 degrees with A/C running for hours. The diagnostic part is already paid through Angies List. All Star contacted me promptly and scheduled a time for service. At the day of service, John called me half an hour before the scheduled time and show up right on time. He did initial assessment at the outdoor unit and found that the coolant level is really low. The next task is to find out where the leak is. He first tried in the attic, then around the compressor, eventually we identified the leak along the coolant line, caused by the tree branch growth near it. So far everything was great. He then gave me a quotation to fix the leak and refill the coolant, I was shocked to learn that the cost to fill so called R22 type of freon is $99/lb. John explained that this type of coolant is especially expensive as it is phasing out. Still I was not prepared to pay this much. I did a search online and found that the price for 30 pounds R22 is about $350 for commercial use. This means the provide marks up the price for ~9 times from $12/lb to $99/lb. However I don't have much choice but agree to pay the asked price. The job of replacing section of copper tubing was well-done and the A/C worked fine since the job. | |I realized later that there is a coupon offered for Angies List member, which states - 10% off of repair for Angies List members (Max discount of $100. I then tried to contact the provider the next day, however I was informed that the 10% is only for parts which does not apply to my case. I was disappointed as the coupon itself clearly did not mention anything about Parts only. This is misleading information to let customers believe that coupon applied to total cost. | |Overall I am satisfied with the service provided by All Star AC, however I am not happy about their pricing strategy, also the misleading nature of their coupon offering.

Description of Work: Performed a summer check-up. The service was fine. They reported no problems with the system. Tech was polite and professional.

Description of Work: They blew out all the lines of my AC. I have used them on more than one occasion. I highly recommend these guys!!!!!!!!!

Description of Work: Replaced evaporator coil and outside condensing unit. |Knew that we would eventually have to replace A/C because of the changeover from freon. Decided to replace now because we had a leak and the cost was pretty high to fix. The install guys were over an hour late, but everyone else was on time and things went smoothly.

Description of Work: We had a company that did AC maint twice a year... the last time here they told my wife that the both units were in very bad shape, that they could catch on fire and both needed to be replaced. They would replace the units for $8900. Since the cost was that high I wanted to bring in another company to quote the costs (and I wanted to use an Angie's List company). Ed came out and said the units were fine and I would probably get another 10 yrs out of the units. He also said to replace the units with a lifetime warranty would only be $5000. There were a couple of issues that did need to be fixed and his crew took care of it.
