All Star A/C & Heating Services

I called All Star A/C & Heating to come out for a second opinion. I had a 5 ton Unit not working and blowing air and also it had ice on the lines. The original A/C Repair Company (Randall's A/C Company) came out stated that I needed a new motor $1200 and $3100 for a new furnace. They scared me in to thinking I should get a new furnace instead of just a motor. I looked in Angie's List and called All Star A/C & Heating who saved the day. I spoke to Ed first on the phone and said how do you know you really need a new motor, we can come out and test everything to be sure. Chris came out from All Star A/C & Heating and tested my A/C Unit, and turned the fan on and said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my motor. They discovered it was another part which was $400 to repair and they discovered I did have a starter kit for the condenser and they put that on, a total of $600+. This company is Honest and Fair and do Great Work! I just found a new A/C Repair Man for my home. Thanks Chris for saving the Day!!!

An early morning call found Chris a very polite and cheerful representative of All Star and he was able to make a service call that very day. Unfortunately the part to fix my unit had to be purchased the next day so the next morning was first chance to install the new fan blade. The AC was running quickly the next morning but soon after the fan motor went out. Luckily I was able to catch Chris before he drove away and he replaced the motor on the spot. This motor had gone out many times and many times had been replaced. The mystery was solved when Chris found out that for many years service people had been putting the wrong motor on my unit. He found this out by calling the manufacturer of my unit to be certain that the motor used was right. Chris corrected the problem right away and we feel sure that we wont have any recurring fan motor problems again. This was a huge deal as he could have not bothered about the mystery of the repeated fan motor break downs. Chris had the right motor on his truck and was able to fix the AC unit CORRECTLY for the first time in years. Also, even though I have 4 dogs and dirty carpet, Chris wore shoe covers when entering my home.

All Star arrived at specified time and conducted a thorough check of both systems. The technician checked the performance of both systems and found service caps loose which had led to our freon leaking. Gave us some options for improving the systems performance which we decided to add, added freon and completed the work. Overall company was very professional, thorough and suggested improvement options (which we felt no obligation or pressure to do). Both systems are running very well and improvements for performance are already noticeable.

Ed arrived and introduced himself, he donned covers on his shoes before entering the house which I thought very considerate, he then systematically checked all the equipment in the house (putting a cover over the floor before opening the attic drop down stairs)and then the fans outside where he found the damaged condensor. This was quickly replaced, he then cleared all his things and left everything tidy, came and talked me through the system (I have recently moved here from England), gave me his bill and a business card, I then booked him for the end of season check to ensure the heating will be OK for the winter, I also booked him for the end of winter check to ensure the air conditioning is OK for summer 2013. I would thoroughly recommend this courteous, knowledgeable and professional young man and his company to everyone out there in his area. He charges a fair price for a good job and does not try to baffle you with nonsense. Exceptional service!

Fantastic customer service. Ed (owner) came out as quickly as he could to assess the problem. We had previously contacted other service providers that did not seem eager at all to get our business or were very 'car salesman-like' who tried to sell us a completely new system in a 6-year-old home. Ed provided multiple options and made sure we understood the details of each. He was very responsive to telephone calls and was extremely courteous and professional throughout our interaction with his company. Ed went above and beyond, climbing throughout the attic to identify all possible sources of the leak. He then added freon to allow us to be comfortable in our home until he could perform the evaporator coil replacement. He then topped off the freon at no charge and ran a special agent through both of my AC units to seal any possible pinholes. Ed did not charge us anything until he could return to verify that the service resolved the problem and that we were happy with the outcome. I've dealt with several AC companies in the short 6 years since we bought our newly-built home. I've paid other companies higher fees and received very poor customer service and low quality parts. Ed replaced my evaporator coil with a quality product and good warranty. Will definitely recommend All Star AC & Heating Services to others and turn to Ed again for any future AC or Heating issues.

The technician was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem very quickly. He was even willing to help with another problem, totally unrelated to the air conditioning, by rewiring a ceiling fan. GREAT service!!

The outside unit began making a terrible noise and we turned it off until it could be looked at. The first company I called to look at the unit (also from Angie's List) diagnosed the problem and gave an estimate of $641 to replace the fan motor. I felt this price was too high and called All Star, it was 7pm by then. All Star quoted price of $345 over the phone (including a $69 service fee, taxes and 10% Angies List discount) to replace the fan motor and said they could be at my home in an hour.. Ed, one of the owner's, was at my home within an hour, as promised. I found him to be extremely courteous and professional taking care to cover his shoes when entering my home. Ed was honest in telling me the fan ran immediately when he turned it on; probably due to having cooled off. He gave me the option of not replacing the fan tonight; however, I decided to have him go ahead and replace the fan, I have had experience with type of problem in Houston before! I asked Ed about installing a hard start kit and he recommended that to me. He did not try to hard sell any parts and reassured me that even though my unit is older it is still quite serviceable. The 'moral' of this review is...you should always compare prices for goods and services even within Angie's List. Some firms will and do overcharge their customers, even if they are on Angie's List. I will definitely use All Star again and have no reservations giving All Star the highest of recommendations.

Showed up in less than 2 hrs on a Sunday. The set price was great. Respectful.

Ed fit me into his schedule within 2 days. He called prior to scheduled timing to tell me that the job he was on was taking longer than expected. Would it be alright to come latter in the day? The fact that be asked me instead of just showing up late was a good omen. He was thorough and helpful, even though he had to stay on my job longer than expected. He was professional & considerate. We will hire All Stars A/C again.

It went very smoothly. Ed replied to my phone call within 15 minutes and was able to do the repairs on the same day. He was very professional, offered good and money saving advice and cleaned up all materials and debris created by the work. The only sign left to show that he had been there was a fixed A/C unit. Ed was knowledgeable, efficient and kind as well as being respectful of our home. I will definitely call Ed at All Star again!

My A/C unit went out, Ed showed up, problem solved!!! I obtained quotes from 3 contractors on Angie's List. Ed made my decision easy and stressless. He explained my options and the cost of each one. He was courteous, informative and respectful. No "used car" salesman approach. I'm very happy with my decision to use All Star, it was one of the wisest decisions I've made. I encourage you to give All Star a call. Judge for yourself. I know your conclusion will be the same as mine. My only regret with Ed is that he doesn't do roofing, sheetrock repairs, painting and flooring. If he did, All Star would be my only contractor.

The date of service above may not be accurate. I can't remember exactly when they came out, but the weather was hot and I remember how wonderful their service techs were. This company was contacted by our Home Warranty Company to repair our air conditioning last year. They were great! They were contacted on a Thursday and came out promptly to check out the problem. They normally would have waited until the next day - which would not have been unreasonable - but because it was so hot out, they came late in the day on Thursday just in case the problem involved getting any parts so that they could repair the a/c prior to the weekend. They were very polite and fixed the problem on Friday. I would definitely recommend them and will request them when/if we have to contact our Home Warranty Company again.

Great guys. We have been in the Houston area for 11 years, and have had several companies work on our AC units. These guys were by far the best we have ever used.

From the moment the technician arrived, he was courteous and professional during the service call. He took the time to explain t the part he was replacing and how it functions within the unit. They also have respect for the inside of your home. We have had several different companies out to service our units and All Star Air Conditioning & Heating is the only company who wears foot covers so they don't track dirt and mud in your house. The service was beyond exceptional as they beyond just servicing, made sure you understood the repairs and suggestions on maintenance you can perform on your units to extend the life of air and/or heating. All Star Air Conditioning & Heating Services will be the only company called to service our units. They are conscious of the work they performed to be done correctly and for you, the customer to be satisfied. If you want the experience of true customer service, call All Star Air Conditioning & Heating. You will not be disappointed.

They did a great job. Ed and Chris came out to my house and gave us a very comprehensive evaluation of our heating & AC system, duct work, and attic insulation. The estimate was fair and complete. Everything was done on time and they were always available to answer any questions. They also found little things to correct to give us better energy savings. We have found that the air distribution is more even thoughout the house and most of the dust from our duct work is gone. We look forward to our energy savings. I will be calling them with all of my Heating & AC needs.

Air conditioner goes out Friday afternoon, so we call American Home Shield. They assign us a contractor. After this contractor does not call, we spend a very warm night withour A/C.Saturday morning, still no call from the contractor. American Home Shield system is now down (3rd time in 3 months), so no help is on the way.We call Ed at All Star Air Conditioning & Heating (highly recommended on Angie's List). Ed replies in less than 15 minutes and agrees to come out.Ed had fixed our problem (blown capacitor) and installed a started kit to protect against further problems. He did a great job, quickly and well within his estimated cost.We will now call Ed and his company All Star Air Conditioning & Heating in the future and we recommend him to everyone in the area.We are also cancelling American Home Shield.

We had been out of town and came home just before Memorial weekend. Our A/C was making a terrible noise. Called our home warranty Co. who contacted All Star. They called within 1 - 2 hours and showed up immediately to check out the problem. There was only one day before the HOliday weekend and they didn't want us to end up with no A/C. They got the part and installed in less than a day. Very professional and prompt and considerate.

It was a wonderful experience. They informed us thoroughly and performed services in a timely fashion. Thank you.

All Star Air did a really great job of repairing my air conditioning system. The owner Ed is a super nice and professional guy. He came right out and showed up on time. He wore covers over his shoes and showed a lot of respect for my house. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and determine what I needed. I ended up having to replace the evaporator coil which is not a cheap component. My home has 2 air conditioners so I had an idea of what this was going to cost me. All Star Air gave me a really great price! I had to replace the other coil 2 years ago and the other company charged me a good bit more. I wish I would have known about All Star Air then. The great thing about All Star Air is that they are a smaller company and they actually value my business and want to make sure that I am happy. The owner Ed is very honest and is very personable. In this day in age companies like this are hard to find. I will definitely use All Star Air for all my future AC needs and stay away from the larger companies that really don't value me as a customer.

The first visit was Thursday 4/21/11 after we discovered the upstairs wasn't cooling and guests were expected later that day. Ed was able to come by right away and a leak was discovered. The plan was to add refrigerant so it would be cool that night and to come back the next day and repair the leak. Unfortuanately the leak was worse than thought and it wasn't cool that night, but luckily because of the time of year, it was not too unpleasant. I called Ed back around 10 am to see what time they would be coming back to repair the leak and he said it would be around 2 pm. They finally arrived sometime later that afternoon but it was somewhat later than 2. Fortunately the lower floor was very comfortable and everyone was in the pool anyway. They did finally arrive and the leak fixed and the upstairs air has been working great. I do think that Ed and his partner are trying very hard to get their business off the ground and perhaps may be spreading themselves too thin at times. But I think they are trying to accomadate as many people as possible.

******WE LOVE ALL STAR A/C & HEATING****** We like to have our unit looked at each year before summer arrives. I was lucky enough to meet Ed with All Star last year. He came to my home to check my system and went above & beyond. Not only did he clean my unit but he found a pipe in our attic that wasn't properly attached and causing a slight leak in our closet. He fixed this small problem at no charge and the price for checking & cleaning our system was minimal. This week Ed came out in a very timely fashion. He fixed the issue at hand and I was only charged for the service call. This company is honest & very reasonable. They also offer great suggestions to help get the most out of your A/C system. I refer them to all of my customers, family & friends.

They were courteous, well-trained, professional and easy to work with. However, they did not do any actual work but recommended me to wash it for few days and to check if the dripping had stopped. If it hadn't in more than a week then they asked me to call them back. It's still dripping and I am in the process of putting a drip pan underneath the attic. They could see what was going on but could not figure out any way for what was causing it without replacing the whole box.

Ed & Chris with All-Star did a fabulous job for us! In trying to increase the efficiency of our home, we were unsure of what to do. The guys were very informative and gave us several options to choose from. They even took my husband in the attic to review the inspection and showed him where the holes were in our ductwork. When reviewing our options, they were very upfront about the prices and showed us their price book. Ultimately we decided to not only add insulation but radiant barrier as well. Because we had experienced problems with our furnace, we also asked them to quote a replacement. Instead, they checked it out and determined that we only needed to replace a part. They saved us $2500!!! They were not only courteous, but also willing to work around our schedule. We were VERY pleased and will recommend All-Star to everyone we know.
