All Star A/C & Heating Services

Although I didn't use All Star A/C & Heating, I would definitely consider using them in the future based on my excellent interactions.

Came out within hours of me calling for AC repair and fixed the problem with no hassles. Serviceman was very helpful and polite and did not try to push any lengthy or costly unnecessary repairs.

He was prompt and professional. I live alone and felt very having him in my home and I would recommend him to others.

I contacted All Star today to come out and take a look at my heater which was not working. I was thrilled when Ed told me he could come out immediately. He came from Spring all the way to the Galleria area (over 30 miles I'd guess). When he arrived he immediately put on the shoe covers before entering my house. He made a few inquiries and within minutes had found the problem and got our heater up and running. Turns out it was just a simple fix but I was so impressed when he quickly stated that he would be waiving all fees (including the standard service call fee). I asked about some installation work and he then proceeded to ask if he could take a quick look in our attic. He took a look, made a few very helpful suggestions and even encouraged us to consider doing some insullation work ourselves, which he said could save us in excess of $600. We were so impressed by his graciousness that we insisted on paying him something for his time. He refused to accept any payment even after repeated attempts to pay him. We would highly recommend Ed and plan to contact him in the future for any A/C related repairs.

They were courteous, professional, reasonable, honest and did a bang up job. They let us borrow a portable unit while they were installing the AC. After about a month, something went wrong with the unit. They came out the day I called and said that the unit had a manufacturing defect and it would have to be replaced. It would take about a week. I am going through Chemotherapy and was concerned about the delay. They called me back and said, we are going to replace the unit immediately because we don't want you to have to deal with the heat . We will use them exclusively and would highly recommend them to everyone!!! A good auto mechanic, AC/heating company and hair stylist are priceless! And these guys are priceless! They are more like family than just a company!!! Thanks guys!

Ed responded to my request for service quickly - next morning (he would have come sooner but I told him it wasn't necessary though it WAS kind of an emergency.) We had an a.c. drainage problem which we managed to stop somewhat but when Ed came, he stopped it permanently by "blowing out" the drains and installing a sensor to the drain pan. Sensor was a lot cheaper than one we had put in years ago by someone else and which apparently either didn't work or got damaged by some workers while in the attic. Work included blowing out the a.c. drains, checking heater for the winter and installing sensor and cleanup. One thing I like best about this company is that they are great communicators if you like that (some people don't, I guess). I like to understand what they are doing and both Ed and Chris always explain it so well. When it is time for us to replace our current a.c., we will definitely be calling these guys.

I had a problem with HVAC system for couple of years, the master bedroom was warmer than the rest of the house, called two contractors to look into the problem, neither one of them can provide a solution, when i called ALL STAR, they were very responsive, and it took Chris 5 minutes to find a major leak in the duct work and got it fixed immediatly

My outdoor ac unit (the condenser & compressor) parts of my ac had died and I needed a new unit asap. I scheduled a appt for them to look at it in the morning. I liked their price and brand of AC (American Standard) so much, we were able to get the job finished by the afternoon of the same day! The team that came to remove the old unit and install the new one were extremely polite and professional. Chris followed up the job once the install was finished and made sure everything was done well. We were extremely happy with the service and product we got from these guys and will keep them in mind for everything else in the future without a doubt!

We live in a rental home and the first company I called wouldn't even come out to the house without meeting with the landlord. Since he lives out of state that meant NO Service! I was very happy when I called All Star and they treated me the same as they would have if I owned the home myself. Chris was great and quickly did an inspection and then took the time to explain what he found. He was happy to replace the furnace filter with one I had on hand, a job I should have done myself. Our outdoor cooling system had a wire that just hung off the unit which was nicked and cracked and covered with electrical tape from previous patch jobs. Chris showed me that even some copper wire was exposed. He also explained the capacitor problem in terms that I could understand and then quickly took care of both problems for me. Since I come from a cooler climate I probably use my air conditioning more than most people in the area and I am happy to know it is good for another year. I believe that not only did I get good service but protection from bigger problems in the future. I will definatley use All Star for my future service needs.

Chris tested the system and saw what needed to be replaced. Made sure Freon was at a good level as well since I needed to add that last year.

I received three bids/proposals to replace my downstairs (5 ton) AC & Furnace including coil & condensor as well the upstairs (2.5 ton). Ed arrived at the appointment for my estimate on time and inspected my units and asked questions including what issues I was having and what I was trying to accomplish by the replacement. Ed provided his estimate and opinion and did not attempt to 'upsell' my on higher efficiency or more costly units than needed. Ed provided a a simple explanation of why he recommended the chosen equipment and how he would modify the the setup to achieve better performance and efficiency. He also explained the installation process and the additional features that he would include as part of the standard installation. By the end of our first meeting, I was convinced that Ed was the guy for the job and we scheduled the installation for the following week. Ed arrived with his crew 15 minutes early on installation day and although the job took longer than anticipated, Ed did not leave until the systems were operating. Ed explained that they they had a few issues getting one of the thermostats to operate properly and he had to install a temporary thermostat. Ed returned two days later to finish the job and it has worked as advertised since.

Basically, I'd been air conditioning the attic all summer. All Star came out promptly, found that air was leaking (ok, gushing) from two different spots in the A/C ducts. They showed me what was wrong and explained what needed to be done. They then repaired the duct-work. Everything was done professionally.

Before he came out, I shared with the owner of All Star on the phone about a previous experience with another company that came out and simply replaced a motor start capacitor: They charged my wife over $200 for the visit and the part. When I got home and my wife said they replaced a capacitor, I couldn't believe it. I went out and in less than five minutes had the capacitor pulled out. Two minutes later, I found it online for $23 and locally for $40 at Grainger. That company was unwilling to refund anything and said that was the going rate. I told the owner of All Star that I really hated being gouged like that and he sounded sympathetic, telling me that he only pays $18 for the capacitor. He said he wasn't the cheapest, but he wasn't going to rip me off. I paid for his labor, a fan motor, and a small component called a hard start kit. Fast forward to last week and a work colleague had the same two components replaced on his very similar unit for $420. We compared the specs of the fan motors and they are the same. Ugg, gouged again! These aren't labor intensive parts to troubleshoot and replace and once you know what the part is, the parts aren't that expensive either. That being said, All Star will be polite and prompt, but you will get average quality parts for an exorbitant price... which is probably average service in the heating and AC industry. Being on Angieslist means trust. Trust that the work will be done correctly, timely and fair price. it is all or nothing. i only have problem with the price and the mark up of the part (ie capacitor) here is the detail: sevice $59, capacitor $109, and misc repair $45. i check with my a/c supplier and the exact part cost under $20. i just think it is a lot to mark up over 5x for parts. and i was ready to give them an A. so/so will not work in any business. sorry i can't recommend your company. Now here is my faults: i did not ask how it will cost to fix it. but as most of you who have a/c problem knows it almost don't matter along the tech can fix it, and it will cost more to get another a/c company out.

Came out to fix clogged AC unit very nice man! Went above and beyond what needed to be done. Was able to fix the multiple issues I had . I would definitely use him again. If you're looking for a guy to fix your AC he's the one.

Our 8-year old air conditioner stopped cooling. We first called Air Tech of Houston for a tune-up. After the AC stopped two days later, we called All Star for a tune-up. Not only were they less than half the price, but they were knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. They even sent one of the company owners out.

They were extremely honest. They have 3 or 4 different units to choose from and we sat down with the technician. He kind of helped talk to us do a pro and con analysis and showed us which one he recommended which was actually one of the cheaper models. He kind of explained why extremely fast turnaround. He is very friendly, informative and professional. We’ve actually referred them out to personal friends and we don’t ever do that. Their price was extremely reasonable. We had 2 other quotes and they were the cheapest. They were 10 minutes early every time.

I have been a homeowner for some time, and I have had many contractors and technicians to service my home; however, l have never met a technician like Ed. My family and I are so thankful for all of the work Ed done. He fixed our fan motor, capacitor, and added a kit to the unit. I respect how concerned he was about our air coming back on, he did not leave until the job was well done. Thanks!

A/C was blowing hot air and the outside evaporator unit was not turning on. I have not lived in Houston/Texas long and I just dread finding service people. I got on Angie's List and decided All Star was a good match for me. It took a couple of minutes of being on hold at the "1-855-for-myac" phone number before I was talking to Chris Chatterson. He took all my information, estimated he would arrive in 2.5 hours and that he would call 30 minutes out to let me know he was on the way. Sure enough I got a call right on cue and he arrived when he said he would. Chris was very nice and professional. Booties went on over his shoes each time he came into the house (I wish my kids would do that.) It took him less than 5 minutes to locate the burned wires and contact. Chris could not guarantee that the burned wires were the only problem, but he said we should start the repair there. He gave me an estimate that included a discount for being an Angie's List member. He set about completing the work and in no time my A/C was working again. He checked our refrigerant levels and found we could use about 3 lbs of puron. This was no surprise to me since we had noticed sometime earlier in the summer that the A/C was not blowing as cold as it once was. He filled it using a scale to weigh the amount. When all was said and done I had spent $390 and now have very cold blowing A/C once again. I will definitely call Chris Chatterson again for our next service.

Apparently, my A/C had lost power in the night. I called about 7:15am on Monday morning. I had a call back within 15 minutes to schedule an appointment. As requested, Ed called about 30 minutes before his arrival time that we had previously agreed on. He was friendly, professional, yet stuck with the task. He quickly diagnosed the issue and I had cool air! I have a best friend who referred me to Ed. I know understand why. The utmost integrity and prompt!

The agent was very prompt and very thorough ,very amiable .The estimate was so much beyond what we could come up with at this time we could not proceed with the service.

Great response to email request, seen within 30 minutes of request. Very professional appearance and very friendly to us & our 2 dogs. Went right to work, up into the attic, then came with a report. Got our approval for the work which was completed in little time. The. Went to outside unit, said it could use part for gradual start to preserve parts, otherwise in good working condition. We approved the part install, again done in little time. Bill with Angie List coupon noted & annual contract noted. Excellent service!

Ed couldn't be nicer, more trustworthy or more professional. Unlike the warranty company, he has no hidden agenda to create fake problems in hopes to cause additional service calls when the problem persists. He's honest and extremely trustworthy, which is so refreshing to find in someone who works on ACs. I will also be hiring him to do 2x/year maintenance on my own home. I HIGHLY recommend Ed and All Star A/C & Heating Services!

I called All Star Thursday evening about 8:45 p.m. on 9/5 after I returned home from work and saw that water was leaking from my attic onto my patio. I knew it was the overflow pan because this has happened before. When I called, I expected a voice mail, but I got an actual voice, Chris, who had come to my house before to repair my air conditioner. I explained to him what the problem was, and he said he could come abut 1-2 on Friday afternoon, which he did. Furthermore, I redeemed a $10 coupon that All Star had on line to lessen my cost. Chris is a professional who takes great pride in his work. Proof of this is that he works for a company that has an after hours number that is answered by a live person who takes the call. I appreciate this because all A/C and heating problems do not occur during a company's working hours. All Star has won quite a few awards; now I know why. It strives for excellence and knows the meaning of "customer service." For many companies, these two words are synonymous with "complaints," which many do not really want to hear. All Star realizes the importance of pleasing its customers because without them, it would not stay in business. Customers pay All Star employees' salaries, and they never forget this. They value customers; they don't consider them liabilities, so they do everything in their power to make them happy. Happy customers will remain loyal customers, and they will tell others. Word of mouth about a company's performance increases its customer base, proving that its reputation is unshakable.

Ed was excellent. Very responsive to initial call and answered after hours. He came by and checked things out. He took a while to get me the quote (a very reasonable price), but came and found that actually he did not have to do as much as he originally thought and had us see if his fix would be sufficient. It worked great! He reduced the price by more than 50%. Very professional and trustworthy.
