All Star A/C & Heating Services

Air handler was only working intermittently. Called All Star in the morning and they were able to come out and do a service call on the same day. After some investigation it was found that my air handler breaker had a loose wire. This was rectified and service was completed. Very friendly and informative service. Would definitely recommend and use All Star again.

Chris came by a couple weeks ago and gave me options and quotes. My 7 year old air handler had a leaky evaporator coil as diagnosed by another company. I received 3 other estimates from top Angie's list companies. 2 of the other 3 companies attempted to upsell me dramatically using scare tactics and half-truths. Chris was very straight forward and honest with me. He explained everything thoroughly and we discussed my options. All Star gave me the best quote by far. Even the other company that was honest with me gave me a quote that couldn't compete with the offer I got from Chris. (I am still using r22 and my outside condenser is a name brand with potentially many years of life left in it. I didn't want to replace my whole system because the condenser was still good. Amongst other things, most of the other companies tried to scare me into buying a whole new HVAC system including condenser by telling me I would be unable to convert my new air handler to 410a after running r22 through it. This just isn't true.) The first thing I noticed was how clean they tried to keep my house. All Star was the only company to bring a drop-cloth with them just for the quotation visit, a big plus in my book. During the actual installation, many drop-cloths were place down along any area they technicians would be walking and over carpet. My Air Handler was above my third floor in the attic which meant many stairs and a long way to go with the old and new units. Shoe covers were standard and when the technicians arrived for the install, they were all very good about removing their shoes even when having to go in and out many times. Great care was taken while moving the old air handler out and the new air handler in, even with some of the tricky corners on my stairs. The technicians were all courteous and friendly. The job was completed efficiently and quickly. Chris threw in a hard start kit and recharged the system for free. Even with some unforeseen difficulty with the electrical system due to non-traditional wiring of my home, All Star remained professional and addressed the issue by figuring out the weird wiring as opposed to to taking a shortcut and bypassing the issue even though the risk was likely minimal. After all the work was done, I was pleased to see that no nickel-and-diming took place and the estimate remained the same. I am thoroughly impressed with All Star. All Star gets a customer for life and I will definitely recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

Everything went well, was happy with the outcome. Technician was knowledgeable, punctual, professional and diagnosed problem quickly and made all necessary repairs. Would recommend this company to anyone needing A/C service.

Our A/C was not cooling so we called this company based on the reviews on Angie's list. The first time Ed came out, he indicated that the screws were not tightened on our a/c unit and that may have caused the leak. He indicated the only way to find a leak in the system was to inject an yellow dye. Even though this procedure was costly, he indicated he wanted to be through and make sure there were no leaks. I appreciated his attention to detail since we've dealt with so many other poor quality A/c technicians in the past. He came back a second time and said our capacitor was broken so replaced that and wanted to let our system run for a week. There was so miscommunication about when he would return to check for leaks but it was resolved as he showed up promptly the next day after I contacted him. He said there were no leaks from our dye and filled in about 5 lbs of freon and even changed my dirty air filter in the ceiling. Ed seemed to want to make sure everything was perfect before he left; as of today our a/c is cooling fine so it seems like everything was fixed as he indicated. Good experience overall

They repaired the problem, recharged the coolant and said it was covered under the previous repair warranty.

Technician was very polite from the first time I called to make an appointment on Saturday. He showed up roughly on time and he had shoes covers when he entered the house so he did not make my carpet dirty. This is a small thing but it is very much appreciated. After he looked at the furnace, he determined that my heating unit was too sized too small for the square footage of the house. Since there was nothing mechanically wrong with they heating system, I decided to upgrade before the next winter. He explained to me what needs to be done and rough estimate. I will call this company again in November to set up an appointment for the work because I felt comfortable working with them.

It could not have done any better I have had other A/C contractors out to inspect and repair my system. I have not gotten a straight answer or evaluation. I enlisted the aid of Angie's list and ultimately had Ed from All Star A/C & Heating meet with me to discuss my home system. I knew my system was getting old and it was time to consider a replacement. Ed evaluated my system, told me what was good and what wasn't. He provided a quote that was substantially better than I had previously gotten. Ed was professional and did not treat me like I had been treated by other contractors. He provided an excellent summary of my system and made recommendations that made sense. I accepted his proposal and we agreed on a date to replace my system. They showed up on time, completed the installation as promised and I could not be more pleased. I would highly recommend All Star A/C & Heating to anyone seeking service or replacement of their A/C system.

Monday morning my thermostat wasn't working so I searched A/L for a contractor and called All Star. Set up appt for 11 - with a call 30 minutes before. Called at 12 and he thought the appt was at 1 pm. Showed at 1 pm and apologized for mix up on time. Wore booties in the house. Determined the batteries had left residue that I hadn't completely removed so with a toothbrush, removed it and it started working. Checked the outside unit for both a/c and the thermostat for both a/c and heat. And because he was in the area, and time mix up - said no charge and hoped I would use them again. I definitely will. Chris was thorough and professional and cut me a break. It doesn't get any better than that!

It turned out well. The people with whom I dealt seemed honest and trustworthy, they did a quality job, and they were responsive as well as punctual. They did such a good job, in fact, that I hired them to install a new furnace.

They did good. They came out here a couple of times.

Needed more duct so had to come back next day to do the job. (I told him it wasn't urgent) I spoke with Andrew the tech about the job and he was very communicative (another thing I love about these guys). Was very professional and supported my already very high opinion of this company. Couldn't be more satisfied. I also talked to him about another job related to ductwork and my kitchen stove hood. He voiced his thoughts, opinions and ideas very clearly and I provided what I knew about the job and said it wasn't urgent. He took pictures and said he would get back to me on a proposal.

My husband was out of town, and we were having a hot spell in Houston. We just moved to a new house, and the A/C wasn't working. I called around noon and talked to Ed. At first he offered to come out the next morning, and I said that I would tentatively schedule and continue to look for someone else to come today (I'm at the "hot flash" age, and I NEED my air conditioning!!!). Ed asked if it would be okay for him to come after 5:00 pm, and I said that would be awesome. He called at 3:00 pm and said that he was on his way as his earlier jobs had been completed soon than expected. He was very professional, and he identified the problem in a timely fashion. He told me exactly what needed to be done and how much it would cost. I okayed the work, and he did it right then. Our air conditioner has been working great since he fixed it!

I can think of LESS THAN A handful of times in my life as a homeowner that I was happy with any contractor's service---that includes---lawn guys, pool companies, flooring installers, appliance repairmen, etc... I would not sign up for Angie's List at all if I hadn't had some type of EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. This company is amazing. They were responsive, helpful, made me feel completely comfortable by taking the time to EXPLAIN what their recommendation was and tell me how I can circumvent similar issues in the future. They came out on a same day basis and offered to do the repairs right away, after I confirmed that I agreed with service needed/price. Their pricing was unbeatable and the attention to detail was quite impressive. One of our 2 heaters when out and we called All Star around 10 in the morning. They were able to come by before lunch. The assesment was 30-45 mins long and the the recommendation was to repair or replace. Based on the minimal cost difference, we chose to replace. The furnace was in and heating by 7 pm that same day. I think it's good quality, but i guess time will tell (it's not broken in the 30-35 days we've had it).

Very quick to respond, after diagnosing the issue they returned the following day to fit the new board. Courteous, great communication and detailed explanation of the issue. Price seemed very reasonable.

Ed came to the property and did a full inspection of the entire system. Before providing an estimate he completely explained the current status of the system and the pro's and con's to the different types of changes he would suggest. His explanations were very easy to understand and he never made me feel foolish for the questions I asked. He did not try to "upsell" a bigger or fancier system. He was very straightforward with pricing and it the bid was very reasonable for the work planned. We aren't ready to make the change quite yet but I have no doubt we will be giving him a call to set it up soon.

They did a terrific job on quickly repairing the furnace, and I always call All-Star for any of our heating and cooling issues. All-Star also put in replacement A/C units for us earlier this year, and we could not be happier with the job that they did. They stand by their work, and I am so pleased to find a company that does such excellent work at fair prices. I highly recommend them - you will not be sorry.

I called All Star back in July. We have a two story house with two AC units. The downstairs AC was not able to keep up during the day if there was any activity in the house. I called on a Wednesday, Chris came out Thursday morning and looked it over. He advised that the unit could either be refurbished for about $3,000 or replaced for $5,300. Given the age of the unit (14 years) we opted for a new AC unit. It's not cheap, but from other people I talk to, this is basically the going rate. Chris and his team came back out on Friday morning and completed the removal and installation within 2 hours. Aside from being cooler in the house, our electric bill in August was roughly $50 cheaper than it was in June or July, which means our unit was previously working overtime to try to keep the house cool. I had a great experience with All Star and would definitely use them again.

I think it was good. I have no complaints at all. I would recommend them. The price was fair. They were very responsive and nice.

They discovered that warm air was being blown into the attic and no warm air was directed below. They fixed the issue with the ducts. They were professional and courteous. They kept me informed as they worked. They also changed my air filter. They did very good work.

My furnace was not working during the first cold spell of the year. Chris came the evening before Thanksgiving, after a couple of minutes, he had my furnace was working!! Thanks Chris.

I called early in the day and All Star worked me into their schedule for the day. I let them know that the company I had called previously could not find the problem and had been working on it for several days. Chris arrived right on time, late in the day: it was cold and dark already. He went right to work and found that my system had been incorrectly wired and was shorting when it should have been powering up. It was fixed in no time at all. Chris behaved responsibly, working carefully and applying his knowledge base to get things reconnected properly. When I commented on his care, excellent work, shoes covers, and quiet closing of the doors as he came and went, he was glad I noticed. I discovered that he is one of the partners that started this company and that honest hard work is the thier hallmark. I will use them again in a minute! They have my all out recommendation.

Could not be happier. I used Angie's list to interview and obtain quotes from 5 companies. After the interviews/quotes the decision was a bit of a challenge in that three were great, the other two were either high priced (highest) or just someone that I didn't hit it off with. Of the three, Ed the owner of All Star, offered a median price (not the cheapest) and convinced me that he would do a good job. His proposal included a number of ideas that others had not mentioned that made sense. Every company had a little different approach to the problem of one warm room upstairs, but Ed was touching on details of his install that were impressive, so I gave him the job. Offered less expensive alternatives Arrived on time for the install No scratches or dings on walls, covered all carpet, vacuumed all areas post install, shoe covers, and even picked up their small trash in the attic. Pleasant demeanor by all. Their focus was a quality install with customer satisfaction as their goal. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH EVERY STAGE OF THE PROCESS AND I AM HAPPY TO WRITE THIS REVIEW FOR THEM.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out great. We didn't spend more than we had paid for the big deal. I would recommend them.
