Despite the better quote than the phone estimate, he was more than 50% higher than the next quote. Since this was not an air condition repair job, I would still consider him for future repair work based on his knowledge and professionalism.

The technician was punctual, polite and professional. He gave good recommendations and explained the issue with the initial installation. The follow-up visit should help the problems. I don't know comparable pricing for comparable service so I guess the price was fair for about an hour of work plus coolant. Given all this, I give the ranking above. I would recommend them to others.

Had problems with A/C on Sun. and tried to reach All Star. For whatever reason, they didn't get my message. I ended up having another company come out. My unit had quit working and my thermostat was blank. By the time the other company came, the unit had come back on, and the thermostat was back on. The technician wasn't sure what was wrong. He went upstairs and found "nothing wrong". He offered to replace my whole unit, or the "zoned board". He could have that done the next day at several thousands, or hundreds of dollars, still without not really knowing what the problem was. The unit quit again that Sun. night and we were headed into the hottest day of the year without A/C. All Star called early AM on Monday and he had the office schedule an appt. as soon as they had an opening. Chris called me later and let me know when he would arrive. He was here only about a half hour and my A/C was working. He had found a melted wire in the junction box upstairs. He, and Ed (by way of a follow up by phone) apologized for taking so long to get back with me. So happy with the way this turned out!!

My AC blew hot air on Friday night. 8pm. It was going to be a bad weekend until I went to Angie's List to see if any repair contractor was available on the weekend. I typed "AC repair" and All Star A/C popped up with so many positive reviews and it was my luck that they work on the weekend without extra charge. On Friday night, at 8pm, I called them and scheduled for an appointment the next day from 12-2pm. Chris actually showed up few minutes early. He quickly did some diagnostic to the unit and determined that the capacitor was the culprit. He replaced it and fixed the AC. The whole job was done in less than an hour. But Chris did an extra diagnostic on the air duct in the attic at no charge. Highly recommended. Note: I called Chris on Sunday night to follow up on my AC. I setup an appointment with him from 10am-12pm the next day. He arrived at 10am. On time.

My AC broke down. All Star told me I had to replace the coil. I suspect it just need a little more refill. After the coil had been replaced costing about 2000 dollars, the AC still didn't work. Then the zone control board was blamed for the problem. The quick solution was to pass over the zone control. And I was promised that if I want the zone control back, it will be free charged. Later, I called the company and left message twice, and sent a text message to ask for putting back the zone control. However, I never get an answer from the company. The repair should be at most a few hundred dollars instead of about 2 thousand dollars, and the company didn't keep its promise. I will not trust any AC repair company any more even from the Angie's list.

It went great. I called Ed and told him my problem and that I needed someone out ASAP as I have handicapped children that cannot be without A/C because of the medicine they take. He got right on it and I received a call from Tara who does the scheduling and she moved work around to get someone out to fix the problem. We had to wait until the next day for the part, but they were out early the next morning and installed the fan motor and got the A/C unit up and running. I keep some small window units for an emergency like this so we were able to keep the temp. down until they could install the motor, which I completely understand as part of my own work is in HVAC. I can not say THANKS enough to Ed and especially Tara for going the extra miles to help me out. I also want to thank Chris for getting out to the house as quick as he could to find the problem out and get the ball rolling. All the Techs. were nice and polite. They will be my only A/C company I use going forward. Mark Blaine

Hottest day of the year so far and Sunday so my a/c blows warm air. I called the 855 number about 11 am and the owner picked up and gave me a time frame of 2pm-4pm to arrive. The owner came out about 3:30 pm, diagnosed the problem and replaced the part. He left a little after 4 with 3 more calls. I will be calling to schedule a preventative maintenance service. Service was prompt and professional.

Justin arrived early. He explained all repairs before performing. He had to return to shop for part but no additional time was charged. We would use All Star again for repairs.

We have two A/C units that are 11yrs old and they were not cooling properly. We had one of the large chains that does it all come out and they replaced a capacitor. Then the technician said we needed to call THEIR plumbing division to change the drain pipes on the A/C in our attic because they were not draining properly. (I was just up there before they came over that day and all was fine) Within a week we had a large leak in our ceiling. I went into the attic to check where the leak was coming from and it appeared that the pipe had been kicked out. They did not come back to repair the ceiling, nor did we want them back in our house! This past April we had more issues with the A/C. We called another A/C company to check it out and they replaced a capacitor on the second unit. This company then informed us that both of our units were in bad shape and needed to be replaced. The guy showed me some dark spots on the fan motors and tubing, saying it was not working due to this and both units needed to be replaced, not repaired. They immediately quoted us a price and said we needed to decide in three days to take advantage of their offer which was in the 10's of thousands of dollars. WHAT???? We decided to wait. On July 18th, our A/C was blowing warm air from one unit and the second unit could not keep up with the demand. We called All Star A/C & Heating and they scheduled our appointment with Chris. He came out as scheduled and after explaining to him what was going on with our A/C he changed a capacitor in one of the units, the one that the other company SUPPOSEDLY changed in April. He checked both units and said they were in good shape for being 11 years old and that they just needed to be recharged. Chris also explained how to clean the drainage pipes to prevent water from dripping onto my ceiling below. Thanks to Chris our A/C units are working great now! Chris is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and very professional. I would highly recommend Chris and All Star A/C & Heating to everyone, as he saved us thousands of dollars and from being ripped off from those shiest companies out there. Thanks All Star!

I asked him a simple question, what was the cost of the capacitor? Simple question, the answer was the cost of replacing the capacitor flat rate was $xxx..xx. He explained this is a standard process to have flat rates and some charge $600 to replace. I told him if an AC contractor told me that, I would tell them to leave as the price of the part, probably $30.00. I would say he is fair and just trying to run a business at a fair price. I was expecting someone to tell me they had to replace the entire unit, which he did not, thank goodness. Thanks Chris.

Chris showed up when he said he would. He was awesome. I took him to the unit, explained the problem and within 5 minutes he determined it was a broken capacitor. Not only did he replace the capacitor I asked him to check the other unit ( I have 2) and Chris did ti with out any problem. All Star was very easy to deal with, prompt, and solution focused. I called at about 11 pm and left a message that my AC wasn't getting power to it. I suspected that the safety switch had shut down my system due to a clogged drain pipe, but unfortunately I was unable to go in my attic and handle this due to recent knee surgery. Ed called me first thing in the morning and had me call Tara to schedule. Tara added us to the schedule for 6-8 PM tonight. I asked if I could be added to a waiting list for an earlier appt because I work at home, and the house was already pretty warm. She called me about 30 minutes later to state that she was able to get my appt moved up to between 4-6. Less than 30 minutes later I received a call from Chris, who told me that he could be here within 20 minutes. He showed up quickly and had the AC running in just a few minutes, confirming my suspicions about the safety shut off switch. He cleaned out the drain pipe and assured that it was draining correctly, and gave a quick instruction on how to do some regular maintenance to minimize this problem in the future. So, by about 10:30 or 11am, my house was cooling again and I had peace of mind. The experience was positive and I will definitely consider using them again. I especially appreciated that I didn't get any hard sell tactics, or suggestions about extra things I might need to purchase.

I looked on AL for a reputable A/C Serviceman to come out bc our house was not cooling well. I called a "big name" company & they tried to up-sell me on their services before I even made an appt.! I called All Star based on the stellar reviews & the scheduler was kind, informative, and explained how they offer good, better, best options once the diagnosis is made. Ed came out right on time (2:00 for a 2-4 appt. window!). As soon as he saw my outdoor unit was iced over, said we needed to turn off our system to let the ice melt & he'd come back tomorrow to diagnose the problem. He returned that evening to setup a portable unit in our bedroom (no charge). Money was never discussed until the problem was identified. Our units were 14 & 20 yrs old and the only real option was replacement. All Star gave a fair "all-in" price - and boy did they earn it! The crew that came out the next day worked all day in Houston heat up & down a broken attic ladder! I will refer everyone to All Star!!

The AC unit was running very loud and not blowing cold air. He diagnosed a part that was installed incorrectly, replaced the part and it was fixed in no time at all. The unit again began to run very loud, but it was now blowing cold air. So, he came back out immediately and repaired another part (not sure what) that was worn, leading to the loud noise. Now it has run well since.

/Heating repair or service.From start to finish everything was done promptly with a supper friendly attitude. I asked if he could check my unit in the attic for any other possible problems and he was more than happy to do so. I wanted to see if other work needed to be done so I can call them back in the future. That's how great their services were. Highly highly recommend these guys for any AC/Heater services.

I am in the process of selling my home. My realtor asked to to have my HVAC serviced before listing just to make sure there were no surprises. I had used All-Star in the past for a repair and had been pleased. I purchased the service from Angie's list at a discount. All-Star called me the next day to set up the appointment. The technician that arrived called when he was on his way and was very proffessional when he arrived. I explained the check up and I looking for and mentioned that the condensor fan was a it loud when it ran. (maybe not tightened enough) He checked out the entire system and even made the fan run quieter. Techician gave me a sheet with with the service performed and was on his way. I would definately recommend.

Second time using All Star- Chris came within an hour because he was nearby when I called! Very professional, easy going and explained my AC fan problem completely. (I thought the fan motor had gone out again) He showed me the capacitor that was bad and deformed. Capacitor was replaced and he was gone within 30 minutes maybe. Chris knows his business and is a good trustworthy repairman. At first I thought the cost was a little high but found out it was within range for a dual capacitor replacement. ((Major Plus-- HE HELPED WITH CATCHING MY DOG THAT GOT OUT THE GATE. ))

We contacted another company who provided a different solution completely and made more sense logically for our issue with the AC unit and why our master bedroom wasn't cooling down. Frustrating that this company provided wrong solution.

Chris was very prompt to respond to our request for a quote and provided a competitive price compared to two other providers (one was way out of the ballpark). They replaced the evaporator coil in my elderly mother's home in a matter of a few hours and were very respectful and friendly. They did quality work and cleaned up after themselves when done. We will certainly use this company in the future for our a/c needs.

The tech, arrived on time, performed the work quickly and honestly at a lower cost than other companies who identified the project and repairs for twice the amount.

My AC unit stopped working all of a sudden. I called two AC service providers about 6:30 PM, and All Star called me back within 20 minutes of my call. Ed, set up the appointment for me next day between 12-3,however, Chris came an hour earlier. He found the problem and fixed it to my satisfaction. He was courteous, and professional. I am very thankful for the prompt response, I felt they cared about my situation without AC in this heat. Thank you All Sat!

The job went very well. He was on time, did a very thorough inspection and answered all our questions. He walked us through the report. Met all our expectations. What makes this company exceptional was the effort Tara made by contacting other customers and re-arranging appointments so the inspection could be done at the same time the Home Inspection company was at the property. Extraordinary customer service. Thanks!
