Description of Work: We got an adjustable patio cover. The cover is very nice but working with 21st Century was bumpy right from the beginning: |I scheduled an appointment but nobody came. I looked for an other provider but couldn't find any trustworthy, so I called again. They apologized and explaind, that they had forgotten to put it in the calendar - OK, things like that can happen. |When their salesman came a week later, he was very professional and friendly, he was punctual ... but the price was shocking and he knew that. He put a lot of pressure on a sameday decission and we had to make some changes, so even we paid a lot of money, we didn't get what we originally wanted. |The paperwork for the HOA was done fast and we got an OK pretty fast, too. I immideately let 21st Century know about it, so they could order the material ... and then I didn't hear from them for weeks. I eventually got impatient, becaues I wanted the cover installed before our vacation (which they knew about) and called. The let me know, that we have been scheduled for the end of the next week - so I got to know about it like 8 days in andvance. I asked them to let me know if anything changes about that. So since I didn't get any call, I asumed that nothing had changed. I called the evenign before, to find out what time I could expect the workers, but she couldn't tell me because the person with the schedule was on the road. She promised to call me back later. I didn't get any call from her. The next morning I waited until 9:30 and since nobody came, I called their office again. This time she told me, that her husband (with the schedule) had arrived so late at night, she didn't want to call me that late. Seems that they have no cellphone to call each other on the road? However, I asked, what time they would come since they were not here, yet, and she told me, that there has been rainfall in the North of Houston for a couple of days, so they are delayed with their work. She hadn't mentioned this berfore, what a surprise! So after all, we were not talking about the time but about what day they would come! But she never made that clear. Since I took time off to be here for the installation of the patio cover, I of cause felt upset and mentioned that. What happened next, was so unprofessional, I have never experienced something like that ever before! It was like talking to a teenager: She was backtalking and acusung me that I do not understand that rainfall can lead to delays etc.! Well, I do perfectly understand that rain can mess with a schedule but I cannot understand, that the company doesn't value my time and let me know about the delay asap. Every time it was me, who had called them. Confronted with that fact, she just replied that she would have called me but it just happened that I called her first. |So the whole comunication process was very difficult and unprofessional. |They eventually came and they did a good job at installing the patio cover, they even worked on a Sunday. |The cover is really nice and works pretty well. It's just that when it is closed, it is supposed to keep the rain out, but it doesn't do the trick. Since they cut the rain gutter from our roof to install the patio cover, all the water from our roof just goes onto the sunroof, which has it's own rain gutter but it is too much water to hold it in there, so the rain splashes down to the furniture and everything else. | |I wouldn't recommend this company to my friends. For this amount of money I want to be treated respectfully from a company, I think that isn't asked for too much.
