Response from STACY FURNITURE
We are unable to offer a refund or any monetary compensation on merchandise that you have owned, moved to a new home & used for 5+ years. Original date of purchase: May 2009 Original delivery: May 2009 [member address removed] Original report of “abnormal wear” December 2011 {1 year limited warranty on the leather cover and all exterior components expired May 2010} Advised customer that cover warranty had expired 19 months ago Customer requests our assistance to get sofa to back porch so she can have moved to new home : July 2012 – no complaints or dissatisfaction mentioned at this time. Customer send email of disappointment: May 2014 6/19/14: I have reviewed the records and notes surrounding the sofa you received in May 2009. In reference to your comment below that “after a few months” you noticed abnormal wear, unfortunately this was not reported to us until December 2011 (31 months after delivery). At that time, we forwarded the photos you sent us to the manufacturer for review (even though the leather portion of the warranty had already expired). They advised that your items of concern were neither warranty issues or manufacturer’s defects, but were the result of “abuse” by the dog in your home (which you confirmed by email to us in March 2012 stating that your dog may have chewed the manufacturer tags off of your furniture). We next heard from you in July 2012 (38 months after original delivery) requesting our assistance in getting this oversized sofa out of your home to your back patio, so that you could have it moved to your new home. As an accomodation, we provided this service for you at no charge – at which time there was no mention of dissatisfaction with us or our service. May 28, 2014, almost 2 years after our last communication from you (5 years after original delivery) we are in receipt of your current statement of disappointment. We do support the factory warranties on the products that we well; however, no store or manufacturer warrants against cosmetic damage caused by pets in your home or normal wear & tear. The extended warranty that you purchased would have covered the cleaning of anything you eat/drink or human or pet bodily fluids – again, this did not cover being chewed on or scratched by a pet. Sincerely, Stacy Furniture
