$75 for a 30 minute diagnostic in my house, which is fair enough I suppose. But wanted to charge $350 for a part I found for $200 and wanted $150 for switching out the power board, which I did in 10 minutes myself.

The "fix" cleared up the trouble with my TV, and I assumed all was well. Total bill for the call-out and the coax, $95. Then about a month later (on 07/15/2011) I went to play a DVD for my granddaughters and I discovered that the brilliant technicians had by-passed my DVD/VHS player and had connected my cable receiver directly to my TV. I then, disconnected their $45 coax and reconnected all my old, original cables and was able to watch the DVD and subsequent TV programs with no problems. In short, my original problem was just due to a loose connection and there was no need to replace any of my cabling. The following morning, I called and spoke to the owner of DSI to complain about the work that was done. She kept insinuating that I had taken too long to report the trouble, but I explained to her that I don't watch that much TV and the only reason I discovered the problem was because, this was the first time since her technicians had come out that I had tried playing a DVD. She started using diversionary tactics, asking for the date of the repair, invoice number, etc., then she said she needed to look up the invoice and call me right back. She never called. So today (07/18/2011), I called again and was treated very rudely and basically told that my TV was working when the technicians left my house, so I really have no complaint. She could have offered to refund the $45 for the coax cable that was not needed. I'm happy to take the responsibility for the $50 service call, but there was no attempt to try and work anything out. So, if you need TV work done, don't call Display Systems Inc. I believe they service a large part of the Dallas area.
Description of Work: I reported trouble with intermittent "snow" on my TV. Since the trouble was intermittent, I assumed the trouble was with my TV, so I didn't bother to check the cable connections (that was my fault). DSI sent out 2 technicians who determined that I had a faulty coax which they replaced for $45 (for an 18" coax -- way over priced, since I can put one together for under $5).
