Excellent service and very professional. Ryan and his assistant installed a top of the line tankless hot water heater that is working beautifully, both in the main house and in a detached artist's studio in the back. I can't say enough good things about their knowledge, skill and professionalism. I was reluctant to spend the money for a tankless water heater at first, but this solution is the best in terms of efficiency, quality and long term savings. To be able to replace two hot waters heaters and get more space, higher quality and energy efficiency for a little higher cost in the beginning was a no-brainer for me. I highly recommend.

We woke up Saturday morning to a shared wet wall in our entry hall and kitchen. We checked the water heater and noticed a small leak from one of the lines. Assuming there was a more serious leak we could not see, we called at approximately 9:45 AM. Our call was answered directly by Ryan, who was out in the field on another job. Ryan told us he would come as soon as he finished the current job, which he projected would be around 11:30. When that job ran over, Ryan called before the projected time to let us know he would be about an hour later than anticipated. When he arrived, Ryan checked the leak we noticed and determined it was not the cause of our problems. He then checked all the plumbing lines in the attic at the leak site and determined none of the pipes had any leaks. He checked our AC unit and found it was the source of the water, probably due to a clogged condensation release pipe. Before leaving, he tightened the leaking pipe to the water heater. Ryan could have charged us a service fee, an after-hours fee, or a fee for fixing the existing leak, but he provided his time free of charge. I very much appreciated his honesty with us about the problems we had and that he did not try to find a plumbing problem to fix or suggest services we did not need. In fact, he told us we had several years of life left in our water heater. Also, we were able to stop further damage to our home because he took the time to finding the problem with our AC so that we could shut it off and have it serviced. When we need plumbing services in the future, I will definitely contact 3G and would recommend them to friends/family.

It was alright. the guy that came out was nice enough and hooked up the garden hose outside and did some sort of flush thing. There was a lot of sediment on the bottom and he said getting rid of that helps it last longer, so that was good. He did not adjust the water pressure in the shower like he said. He said it would be $1200 for a new water heater when I needed one which I thought was high. He came quickly, it was easy to get an appointment. He was very nice and professional. He seemed to be very competent in his knowledge about water heater and things of that nature. His prices were high. He was very punctual, got there bright and early, 8am on a Saturday.

Purchased a Big deal for 3G Plumbing and Backflow,LLC. Made an appointment with them to be here at 1:00 pm to flush and service the water heater. They never showed and I had plans so I left around 1:15 pm. They did not call and say they was going to be running late. When I got back home there was a card in the door saying he was there. I called to reschedule the work but have not heard back from them.

We recently moved to Plano from Oregon and purchased a house that needed a new water heater immediately after closing. Our realtor said that 3G Plumbing had performed services for his rental properties in the past and felt that the company was honest and fair, which is really all you want in an umpire, a spouse, a mechanic, and a plumber. Ryan came prepared and on time with a courteous and professional assistant and charged exactly what he said he would charge in his estimate with no surprises or upselling. When he came out to do the estimate, I asked for a quote on installing some new faucets. He recommended a couple for me to buy from Home Depot. I purchased the wrong type of valve, so they couldn't do the installation. Ryan researched for me and recommended a product on Amazon and said he would come out any time in the future and not charge me for the additional trip to do the installation....just his normal rate....which I thought was great. We will be calling 3G in the future, I am sure.

I contacted Ryan about 8:45 in the morning and he called back within 30 minutes. He told me he would arrive between 2:00 and 3:00 that afternoon. He showed up at 2:30 with a helper. He was able to identify the location of the leak and cut out about a 2" section of the pipe. He then put a rubber sleeve over the section that was removed. He was prompt, neat, polite, and efficient in making the repair. He had all the needed equipment and supplies in his truck. I was afraid the repair would be much more involved and much more expensive. He did a great job at a price that was better than I expected.

gas leak repair, plumbing

On a Sunday evening we smelled gas outside our home. We called the gas company and they sent a technician who verified there was a leak, removed our gas meter and told us we needed to get a plumber to replace the entire 90 feet gas line from our house to the gas meter and get it inspected by the city before they would install a new gas meter. This left us with no hot water for showers, doing laundry or dishes and no heat from our gas furnace when the temperatures were going to be in the upper 30's overnight for a couple of nights. I spoke with 8-10 other plumbing companies, all from Angie?s List, on that Monday morning and afternoon, receiving rough estimates over the phone but had only one other company willing to come out on short notice to view the situation and provide an estimate. We were very shell shocked at the prices estimated and at one point went to our local banker to discuss taking out a home equity loan to cover the anticipated costs. 3G Plumbing was able to come out late on Monday and provided us an estimate to complete all the work though it would be Wednesday morning before they would be able to start the job. Their estimate seemed very reasonable and relieved a lot of the anxiety that had been building throughout the day. 3G came out to provide the estimate at the time they promised. They also began the work at the day and time they specified. Both workers were always very courteous and very professional, even while digging roughly a 70 foot trench through the yard plus doing some back breaking manual labor to get through 20 feet of the concrete driveway. All the work was completed in a little over one day and the City of Garland passed the work when they came out to review it. 3G was very neat in the cleanup of the broken out pieces of concrete and in replacing the dirt over the trench. The dirt was replaced in such a manner that as it settled over the length of the trench area it did not leave any telltale gullies or valleys that would have indicated significant work had been done across on the lawn. Overall we were very pleased with both the price and the quality of work we received from 3rd Generation Plumbing.we were very pleased
Description of Work: 3G Plumbing replaced our entire natural gas line, about 90 feet in length running from the house to the gas meter. This required trenching the 90 feet, including 20 feet of that through the concrete driveway, installing a new gas pipeline and then replacing the concrete removed, and placing the dirt back over the new gas line. They also replaced one outdoor faucet that required going under our pier and beam house to complete the work.

ryan showed up promptly. he had told me over the phone that the process would take approximately20 minutes. the time estimate was correct. ryan laid a water hose from my front walk, through the house and hooked it up to the hot water heater. water began draining to outside. water was almost clear, very few minerals. ryan briefly looked over the water heater. he seemed primarily interested in trying to determine what other services, products he could sell me. ryan told me i would probably need a new water heater soon, but he didn't show me any evidence to support that.

They came in and stuck a hose on the water heater. The hose was not completely unrolled. Water is just trickling out of the hose, which is not common. He informed me I have hard water, which I knew. He said there was too much sediment at the bottom of the heater so it could not be cleaned out. he said I needed a new water heater. We also needed some faucets replaced since they were leaking. We asked if the could do that. The faucet in the front was the one we needed fixed. We paid them for replacing two faucets and the front one was not fixed. We called about this faucet. When he finally came out to look at the faucet, he said he had to get more parts. He said he would come by the next day to do work. He ended up making the problem worse. It started off as a slow leak and how our front yard looks like it was flooded. We tried to get a hold of him to fix the work and was difficult to get a hold of. My husband had to completely turn off the water from the water meter. The valve ended up breaking and had to contact the city. I contacted him on Monday with no response. I do not recommend him at all.

We went out to this member's home to perform the water heater flush and found that the sediment buildup from over the years was so bad that the drain outlet at the bottom of the heater would not allow any water to pass through. We showed the homeowner the reason for not being able to perform the flush and we offered the member to come out at a later date, at no cost, and try to flush the water heater again.

Work was done fine but it was something that I could have done easily. I expected them to drain and flush the water heater but they simply flushed it by using a hose to let water out of the heater bottom. The heater was never drained. I will do this myself in the future as it is a trivial task.

Contractor apparently only drained and refilled the hot water heater. Time spent was too short to adequately flush the hot water heater.
Description of Work: Contractor was supposed to drain and flush the water heater. Overall time was approximately 15 minutes. We actually did flush the water heater but did not drain because the flushing is much more affective if you leave the water on and allow the new flow of water to purge out the bottom of the tank. However we were not able to get 100% of the sediment out of the tank which is thw reason for still hearing the popping noises. We strongly recommend that the water heater is flushed again in a year.

Ryan and colleague arrived on-time and went straight to work. They flushed both water heaters quickly and left no mess. They were professional in appearance and workmanship. I had hoped that the inspection was going to be a little more in depth- check the cathode, etc., but they said they can't really do that. They did visually look at the tank and pressure relief valve. Overall I did not see value in this service - certainly not $100 worth.
