The plumber that came to our house was superb at communicating when he was on his way, when he expected to arrive, etc. Once he got there, he found the problem after only a few minutes, and was able to get us fixed up. He also provided a few tips on how to avoid the problem recurring in the future. I highly recommend them!

discovered on a Saturday afternoon in January that one of our outdoor faucets was leaking water. I looked a few other plumbers on Angie's List who did not provide Saturday service. I needed quick service and Lex was available. They came out quickly, replaced the problem faucet, I had them look at another faucet that was acting up as well and we replaced that one as well - both were broken. Was able to get the problem resolved without an emergency. I would use these guys again

This was supposed to be a warranty call for AHS. The employee that showed up immediately nullified any warranty based on his prior visits before we bought the house. The problem with this is that the warranty does not cover items that are not obvious to the naked eye or basic testing. His knowledge was much more in-depth from having taken apart things that would not be done on a standard inspection. He also kept making remarks and his company much prefers to full price retail work versus warranty work so I don't have a clue why AHS sends this company out. Not at all helpful. Plus he did not come with needed parts, so it appears he had no intention to do the work.

We had issues with our water heater and contacted (former) home warranty / service repair company - referred to as and quot;HWand quot; going forward (Home Warranty). Normally HW will have a host of contractors in their stable to draw from - most, we have found in our experience with dealing through AHS for a couple of years have been questionable in service, etc. This is a whole other discussion which I won't get into. Lex's came out through HW only after we researched the initial company that was due to come out and discovered numerous complaints about service, etc.. The initial complaint was for our water heater ignition mechanism not firing up any more.
Lex's Plumbing came out and determined that the not only was the ignition assembly completely out, but that the water heater's overall condition was not worth repairing due to the age of the unit (17+ years old). Additionally, we had water bubbling up from the concrete floor in the garage which turned out to be the hot water feeder line into the house. They could have simply replaced the ignition unit as a and quot;bandaid fixand quot; at a substantially lower cost but instead opted to replace the entire heater as it was unconscionable for them to keep something as old as that in service that could potentially go at any moment. Most other contractors dispatched by HW would not have done this - and most of you who've dealt with home warranty companies know this which is why I will use Lex's again for my future plumbing needs. They were extremely professional, timely in their work and most importantly honest and clear.
I was very relieved to get this level of service and honesty from an HW - dispatched contractor. Why was Lex's working through HW? I later learned that aside from their normal business, Lex's also operates through AHS for their own advertising purposes. If someone has a good experience with them, word of mouth will spread, and so forth. They may decide that taking dispatches from AHS is no longer worth it to them which would be a loss to HW. Although home warranty companies are cheaper in most cases to have things fixed, the level of BS you have to go through with the crummy contractors they send out to get things done right (not to mention the time it takes to actually get fixed) thorougly negates any savings in my book. Time taken off from work, headaches, bad attitudes - we've experienced all of it. I'd rather pay a little more, have an excellent service experience and have it done right. Lex's Pumbing helped us realize that and for that we thank them as well.

If we had had this plumbing company come out for anything other than an issue covered by our homeowner's warranty, I'm sure it would have been a different story. They were VERY prompt in returning my call and scheduling an appointment. The office was very professional and called 30 minutes prior to the technician's arrival. Unfortunately, we were sent a technician that appeared to have either little knowledge and/or little experience.
He took a look at the wall showing signs of a leak, used a tool to measure for moisture and assessed that, yes, we did have water in our wall. First step, done. Next, he took apart the shower handle and found a small leak dripping from the handle down the wall. He replaced one part of the faucet fixture because, according to him, that was the only part covered by the warranty. So a leak (not sure if it was THE leak causing the damage) was fixed. Done.
I then asked him if the leak could be caused by damaged grout along the base of the shower and he said he wasn't sure. I would have been fine with that answer except he told me to have another company come out assess the leak and damage. He even called the company for me. I think there was a miscommunication because he failed to mention (if he knew) that they don't assess leaks. They assess the damage already done by the leak and dry it out...for a hefty price not covered by our homeowners warranty OR our homeowner's insurance. Why would I call a company to come dry the walls and not know why it was wet?? He performed no tests on the shower pan (which we found out later could be done or I would have asked). I'm hoping he didn't perform any tests because he knew it wouldn't be covered by the warranty. Although I still felt like it was a bit lazy to not propose ANY suggestions.
On top of not receiving any kind of diagnosis as to the problem with our shower and the leak, he and quot;fixedand quot; the faucet handle so that now we have to turn it to just the right place or our shower won't turn off...hence the reason for the D quality rating. After putting the handle back on after he fixed the leak, he asked, and quot;did the handle always go around like that?and quot; I said no, and he informed me that it was ORIGINALLY broken and he had fixed it but it was missing a piece that the warranty DID NOT cover and so he couldn't finish fixing it. Come to find out, the shower faucet was properly working BEFORE he took it apart. There were no pieces missing. He took it apart, might have fixed one problem (we don't use the shower for now until it can be properly fixed) just to cause another one...and tell me it was wrong before he fixed it.
Since then we have had an independent plumber come in and look at the shower. We did not call Lex's plumbing back out to fix the handle partly because we're replacing the whole fixture by a different plumber and partly because it's not worth the hassle of arguing over possible additional charges. As any other homeowner, we just want the problem fixed and done.

Noticed leak on a Sunday morning, called Lex's Plumbing because they had done some work for my parents and my mother felt that they were knowledgable and honest. Man that answered phone said they could come out on Sunday but we would have to pay an after hour charge because it was Sunday. We were fine with that and he was at our house one hour later. As soon as that was fixed, we had a few other projects we asked for a price on and had him do since he was there. He ended up not charging us for the leak that we orginnally called him out for and we were so impressed with how fair and honest he, Alex, was that we are having them come back to do an entire plumbing check on the house. Alex is a master plumber and owns the company. I will definatly use them again. They will be who I call when I need plumbing work done. I am also going to have them come out every year to flush my water heater tanks.

I scheduled them through my home warranty so I didn't have to pay anything. There was a slight difference in what was supposed to be there and what was installed because of a miscommunication.

The service was fine. The man who came out was fine, but his workers who actually did the work were probably better. Clean up and professionalism were average.

The part isn't manufactured anymore, but they went out of their way and were able to track down the part for us. They were very reliable, prompt, and pleasant.

I had a very good experience with him. He was sent by the home warranty company. So, all I had to pay was the service call of $60. It is their fixed rate for garage, door repairs, or plumbing. He came out very quickly after I had called the home warranty company. I will use their services again in the future.

I submitted a trouble ticket with my home repair insurance on February 20, 2010 to report a leak in one of the bedrooms in my rental home. Lex’s Plumbing was assigned for the repair. Lex’s Plumbing first arrived to the rental property on February 23, 2010. The initial diagnosis was a wet spot in the bedroom and that they could not do any work because they could not duplicate the leak. I was not satisfied with this diagnosis and told them that there is a bathroom behind the bedroom wall. I asked them to check the bathroom and they told me that this is not related. They refused to go and see the bathroom. Lex's Plumbing reported the incident as a spill to my insurance. Within a week, my tenants informed me that the leak had not stopped but, in fact, had grown to two spots in the bedroom. Lex’s Plumbing returned on March 3, 2010 with a more experienced plumber. By this time, I had done some further investigation and discovered that there was standing water behind the previously mentioned bathroom toilet. Lex’s Plumbing new diagnosis was a cold side slab leak under the hall bath. I further questioned the plumber’s diagnosis and asked if the leak could simply be from the bathroom toilet. The plumber said no and assured me that this could not possibly be the cause. His estimate was a cost of over $2,000. Because I distrusted the diagnosis, I decided to get another opinion. I searched for another plumber on my own using Angie's List because the leak had now been around too long. The new plumber conducted his own investigation. Within minutes, he returned with his diagnosis of the leak to be caused by the stop and supply valve on hall bath toilet. Because of the missed diagnosis, I had to pay for the repairs on my own and not through the insurance. Now, I filed a claim with the insurance and may, or may not, be reimbursed because of Lex's Plumbing misdiagnosis.
