I called Legacy Plumbing around noon on Monday. Spoke with the owner, Theron. He set me an appointment for Thursday. My appointment was 12 to 2 pm. They had a cancelation for their appt. prior to mine and called to see if they could come out earlier. They arrived at approx. 10:45 am. with a two man crew. Matt was the lead man on the crew. He was very friendly and professional. He quoted me the prices upfront. Even though he encounter some unexpected situations, he worked through them and did an "A" job. Cleaned up and took the debris with them. Will definitely use Legacy for my plumbing needs in the future.

They were two young, clean cut, nice men. Very pleasant and personable. They discovered some problem in our attic and corrected it at their cost. They cleaned up their mess. The power went off when they were here due to nothing by them and they worked with my husband to get it back on. We were delighted to have them. We woke up in the night very cold and they had forgotten to turn the furnace back on. That was the only stitch. My husband got up and moved the cars and flipped the switch to turn it back on. If he wasn't here I wouldn't have had any earthly idea of what to do. He was here so no harm done to us in particular. They were very good. They fixed things that weren't in their bid that they hadn't seen at no extra cost.
Description of Work: They installed a gas line and cook top. I changed from electric cook top to gas cook top so they installed that.

Excellent phone skills--and information with calls to Legacy Plumbing. Very professional. Matt, Repair specialist arrived at appointed time and did an excellent job with providing information, and answering questions--and installing the new gas water heater. Obtained the correct information from the City of Coppell for installing a new water heater--and gave me the city inspector's name and phone number for the required inspection; this was completed the following week and the hot water heater was of course found to be in compliance with city standards/requirements. Great service! Very recommended!

After MUCH frustration with our warranty company, I called Legacy Plumbing to come out and check for the existence of a possible leak behind the refrigerator. We were having problems with our hardwood floors separating at the seams on the other side of the wall that separates the kitchen and the hallway. We were not certain that a leak was still active, as we saw no other evidence of moisture. Wayne did exactly what we asked him to do, which was give us peace of mind. He checked every possible source and route the water would take if there was a leak, and looked in every place imaginable around the affected areas. What he DIDN'T do was come in our house, take a quick look, see no visible water on the surfaces, and look at me like I was crazy and tell me that there couldn't possibly be a leak. Wayne was FANTASTIC. Not only did he check everything, he thoroughly explained to me (and to my husband over the phone), his suggestions for how to proceed and why, all the while minimizing the "damage" due to the search. In other words, he did not leave giant holes in my walls upon completion. He was friendly, courteous, and professional, but also very matter-of-fact. At no time did I ever feel he wasn't being straight with me. I highly recommend this company. Thank you, Wayne!
Description of Work: Checked for leaks behind the refrigerator and around the kitchen sink, under the sink, and around all the cabinets, nooks and crannies between and around the two possible affected areas. Also measured the water pressure throughout the house to ensure that there were no problems there.

This was the 2nd shower valve we had to replace in 2 weeks. (different bathroom) I called Legacy to save money over the previous plumber - turned out I only saved $20. The plumber spoke to my husband in as if he were a child and my husband found it quite insulting, especially since he's extremely handy around the house and we had just had this done on a diff shower a week before (and I forbade hubby from taking a hacksaw to the handle like the plumber did on the last one - which was a successful repair). This plumber had to do this same repair in the same manner. The biggest difference was how the plumber dealt with my husband.

They had to come out and look at the sewer lines. The roots had finally started blocking the pipes. They got rid of the roots. They did everything I asked and I think they did a great job. The prices were reasonable. They came out and put more dirt to add extra compression at no charge. They also explained to us everything that they did. Lastly, they removed all the scraps and cleaned the entire area.

After checking Google and AngiesList recommendations, we felt comfortable with calling LP. We did not call anyone else, so I cannot compare their price. My husband called on a Monday morning. They gave an estimate of possibly later that afternoon (which was fine), but contacted us to say they could make it earlier (10-11am)...which, again, worked ok for us. I showed them the closet and I went along my business. Wayne had introduced himself (he also had one helper). He had stated that the cost would be what he quoted on the phone to my husband (@ $950) which included everything, that they don't add on all the little extras that other providers do. I had to leave, but my husband was home for the remainder of the service. I later saw the bill ended up being @ $1150. The 950ish they had quoted, plus a $95 2nd floor fee, $50 service fee, $145 for permit services (for the city/inspection), $65ish for something else. Wayne gave us the AngiesList coupon since we were first time customers. I can't complain about the pricing since I was not involved in that. My husband did not comment on the pricing, nor did he really comment on the installation itself. By not hearing any comments, that's usually a good thing (if you know what I mean). ;) Sorry I can't be more descriptive, but I did want to at least write a report since LP honored their AL discount. I was more impressed that they came so quickly.

After reviewing Angie's List I contacted Legacy to get an estimate. Wayne provided that for me in May. After doing some additional research I contacted Legacy in September. They scheduled the work for the next week (at my convenience). One of the Legacy guys got to my place early and started empty my water heaters, then Wayne and his assistant arrived and got right work. They did a great job. The plumbing lines were redone, the pans and water heaters were installed and additional drainage was added very efficiently. They left the area spotless. They answered all my questions. I will go to Legacy for all my plumbing needs and recommend them to all my friends.

We have been very satisified with Legacy Plumbing every time that we have any plumbing work done. We always ask for Wayne to do the work because he does an excellent job and he is very helpful and answers any questions we have. We get a fair price on any job that is done and they gave us credit for a competitors coupon that we had today. The owner, Theron is a really nice guy and even gave me advice on how to fix a plumbing issue to save us from having to pay them to fix the problem. Legacy Plumbing probably gets a lot of repeat customers like us because they do quality work. We never consider calling any other company for our plumbing needs.

After having a 2nd experience with this business, I have come to the conclusion that I will not do business with them again.
Description of Work: Really hard to keep this short. First of all - they will only give me a 30 day warranty on $800 worth of work. Legacy Plumbing came out to my house twice to fix leaks in the same pipe that goes from the City meter to my house. The first time, I told them I had two leaks, the "big" leak in my front yard and a secondary leak near the meter. Didn't listen. Repaired the "big" leak in front yard. Leak at meter continued...I was trying to work with the City to repair it since Legacy didn't even look for it. This week - another "big" leak - about 30 days after first. Called Legacy again as I was concerned it was the same one they had repaired thirty-ONE days ago. They found a 2nd leak. They dug up the pipe in the yard, found the leak and cut a sizeable amount of a combination of plastic & copper pipe (from a previous repair ten years ago - NOT the source of this problem, the repair made with the copper was still good & strong)...replaced the length with plastic pipe. Only then did they listen to me about the leak at the meter and so started digging and found it. After digging the hole they had to leave for another job and had to work me in to do the repair - maybe Friday morning - maybe. After they left, I went to the City offices and talked with their customer service and they had somebody out immediately and had the smaller leak fixed within half an hour. What a circus! In short - Legacy charged me $800 to fix two small leaks in the pipe in my front yard with nothing more than a 30 day warranty - one of which has expired. And - he took the copper pipe. After thinking about it, I cannot justify giving them any better score than what I have. The City crew told me that for $800 I could have had the line from the meter to the house completely replaced. As it is, I thank the City for doing the repair as it was technically my responsibility, and I am left feeling like a fool having hired Legacy. The line will eventually have to be replaced, but I am hoping that my $800 has bought me enough time to be able to afford replacing the whole line in the near future...for another $800 better spent.

Response from Legacy Plumbing
We are terribly sorry to hear that our customer had a bad experience with Legacy Plumbing. It is always our intention to treat our customers fairly and with integrity. I wish our customer would have contacted us to let us know she was unhappy with our service. The last correspondence we had with her was after the second repair when she called our technician on his cell phone to personally thank him for his recommendation to go to the City of Allen to have her water bill adjusted and ask if they could look at the meter leak. We have since left voice messages for her in hopes we can rectify the situation. We value her as a customer and want her to be happy. As of this afternoon, we have not heard back from her. Legacy Plumbing stands behind its work 100%, but in instances where we are making repairs to old and unstable products, we cannot guarantee the repair will not break on the side of the old pipe. When our technician saw the state of her water line, he immediately made the recommendation that she replace the entire yard line. It was apparent that the line was very old, in bad condition and we were fearful of future leaks. This type of blue line is notorious for cracking and splitting and the plastic fittings designed for that pipe are prone to failure. Our customer said a new line was not in her budget and requested that we only repair the leak. We explained to her before we did the work that the repairs would only carry a 30 day warranty because of the great potential for the old line that we would tie into would leak again. We also gave her a written price up front and she authorized this before we began work. We stand behind our recommendation to our customer that the line should be replaced. Continuously making repairs to the line will be costly and isn’t a long term solution. When our technician went to her house the second time, the leak was 3 feet down from the first repair. The line was cracked and split very close to a previous repair made by a handyman. To help prevent further problems, we cut out the entire section of previous repair (1 foot of plastic piping and 1 foot of copper piping) to help minimize the amount of fittings tying into her old line. We were going above and beyond the actual leak point to help stabilize the line as much as we could within the restraints of our customer's budget. It is typically not our practice to leave old plumbing apparatuses behind, however if our customer would like the old pipe back, we would be more than happy to give it to her. We want our customer to know how deeply sorry we are that her experience with Legacy Plumbing was poor. We are confident that she will continue to have problems with this old line and we do not want her to continue to have to pay for future leaks/repairs. Therefore, we are willing to give her the entire amount of the previous repairs ($800) towards a new line. As a small company, it is not feasible for us to typically offer payment plans, but we are willing to work with her on payment options if she decides to replace the line. As for the city worker’s opinion on plumbing costs, I am deeply troubled that he would make such uneducated comments. We have been in the plumbing business for over 18 years and I would be shocked if she could find a reputable, licensed and insured plumbing company to replace an entire yard water service for $800. I sincerely hope to hear from our customer so that we can rectify this situation. We care deeply about our customers, their opinions of us and our reputation. If we have done something incorrectly, we always strive to make it right. We strive to constantly treat our customers the way we want to be treated and we never take these types of comments lightly. Thank you to Angie’s List for allowing us to respond to our customer on your forum. We hope we can speak directly with her soon. Theron Young Owner, Legacy Plumbing, Inc. 972-801-9798

Came home Wednesday night around 7:30 to a note from Atmos stating my gas had been turned off due to a leak. I first attempted to called a different plumber that night to see if I could get someone out tomorrow. He indicated to me that he was book but would give me a call the next morning.(Which he never did). The next day (Thursday morning) I called at 7:30am and left a message indicating my issue. 30 minutes later Legacy Plumbing called me back and asked me if I still need his service. He said he could have some there in 30 minutes!! I was in shock on how quick they arrived. Within a few minutes the service tech discovered the leak and explained to me that when the house was build the builder had used an incorrect coupling and should not have passed in the first place. He gave me a price of 720.00 dollars to fix the leak. He indicated to me the reason why the price was high was due to the fact the city of Mckinney had to get involved. Which meant included in the price was the permit. While he was inspecting the gas line he noticed that the build had also installed an incorrect coupling from the gas line too, The repair man did replace that coupling for me an no additional charge. During his inspection of home he noticed that my water heater was 14 years old and that I may need to think about replacing since the gas water heater is located in the attic. (I knew for sometime I needed to replace it). The service tech stated that since they already have to get a permit to fix the gas they could tack on the water heater as well and save 145.00 and 50 dollar service fee if I replaced it now. He also allowed me to use a 100 coupon (which I got from Angies list) towards the new gas water heater. The total cost to replace the water heater was 1,087 which included the 3 upgrades: new water lines, gas flex and sediment trap. They also installed 3/4 ball valve. I would definately use them again for any plumbing issue in the future.
Description of Work: Due to gas leak, Legacy Plumbing replaced 2 couplings, 12 inch pipe connecting to the house, Gas water heater with 3 upgradeswhich include water lines, gas flex and sediment trap. And also installed 3/4 ball valve

I contacted Legacy to help complete a shower installation project. I received an approximate cost over the phone after describing what I needed. The work was scheduled, and the workers showed up on time. The workers were very courteous and had a positive attitude. Wayne took one look at what I needed and said he would not have to charge me as much as quoted since the job was relatively simple. Wayne made a point to thoroughly explain how to complete installation of the handle and shower head after the tile work was completed. They finished the work quickly and made sure everything was cleaned up. Wayne also made several good suggestions concerning the tile work to be done and also how to use Angie's List more effectively. Great job overall, I will certainly call them again when needed.. I am so glad I joined and used the list to get in tough of Legacy.

Experienced a break in my outside water main. Called Legacy Plumbing, they arrived 2 hours earlier than scheduled and called in advance that they could come earlier. Both technicians (Matt & ?) were extremely friendly and professional. Were able to perform the necessary repairs very quickly and did an outstanding job in installing a latest technology pipe joint and included an additional manual shut-off valve to bring the entire fitting up to current standards. Technician walked me through a complete inspection of what they had done. Really excellent workmanship. Biggest shock was the low price as I had feared the worse and they offered an added discount which was totally unsolicited.Basically, Legacy Plumbing turned what my wife and I feared as a major ordeal as we had no water in the house and were able to remedy very quickly, painlessly at a surprisingly very low price. Excellent company, very professional and courteous employees. They would be the only choice for any plumbing work I would ever need in the future. Worthy of putting their magnet on my refridgerator.
Description of Work: Fixed break in my outside water main line between the house and city main at the street. Removed the damaged section and installed an entirely new section to correct the leak and bring the fittings up to current standard. Added a manual shut-off valve and piping sections made of materials that would not rupture if inadvertently frozen in the winter. Workmanship was of the highest quality.

We had foundation repair, and I had a bad experience with the plumbing company that the foundation company sent to do our leak testing. That company did not want to do a simple repair while they were at my home because they wanted to charge us for another leak test. I had words with the owner and he came right out and told me that he did not want my business. So I called Legacy Plumbing and Theron and Wayne came out the next business day to give me an estimate on the repair. While they were here for the estimate, they realized that it was such a simple repair that they just did it. They had it fixed in 15 minutes. It was nice for a company just to get it done without pretending it was difficult in order to get more money out of me. I felt they were honest. I'm not sure they are the cheapest, but I will pay extra for honesty and talent. I then scheduled them to come out and do another water leak test since I did not trust the first company. Wayne did a great job. When the first company had reseated my toilet after the leak test, the toilet had a black ring around the bottom of it that I did not like. I was so exhausted from fighting that I thought I was just going to have to accept the ugly toilet reseating. However without me saying anything, Wayne noticed it and told me he could do a better job, and HE DID!. It was so nice not to even have to ask, but instead for a plumber to notice a bad job, and make it all beautiful without me having to point it out. He kept us informed at every point during the leak test and the reseating of the toilet. The leak testing showed we had no other leaks, and I felt very reassured. I trust these guys to get it right.
Description of Work: I had two service calls with this company; the first was to fix a leak that occurred after foundation repair, the second was to do a water leak test to ensure we didn't have any other issues. I am combining both of these service calls into one report. Leak repair - $150 Foundation leak testing - $345
